RON PAUL2012!!!!!11!!!! Storms Out Of CNN Interview Over Pesky Questions

In the back of your minds, Paulites, imagine how this would look were Ron Paul to become the GOP presidential nominee, and he was asked these same questions during, say, a debate?

(Mediate) Ron Paul walked out of an interview with CNN’s Gloria Borger following a heated exchange over the controversy regarding racist newsletters sent in his name during the 1990s. Borger asked the Congressman if he had ever read the newsletters. “Did you ever object when you read them?”

“Why don’t you go back and look at what I said yesterday on CNN and what I’ve said for 20 something years. 22 years ago? I didn’t write them, I disavow them, That’s it.”

Borger continued to ask him questions

“No, I’d like to see that money,” Paul responded. “I never read that stuff. I was probably aware of it ten years after it was written and it’s been going on 20 years that people have pestered me about this and CNN does it every single time. So when are you going to wear yourself out?”

“Is it legitimate? Is it a legitimate question to ask that something went out in your name?” Borger continued.

“And when you get the answer, it’s legitimate you sort of take the answers you get. I didn’t write them. didn’t read them at the time and I disavow them. That is your answer.”

So, he was aware of the newsletters 10 years after, newsletters published in his name, which he made money on? He never took the time to see what was going out in his name? That’s pretty damned irresponsible and shows a clear lack of judgement. Imagine how that response, which was rather snotty (watch the video at Mediate), would not play well with the general American voter.

“It’s legitimate, it’s legitimate. These things are pretty incendiary,” Borger pressed.

“Because of people like you,” Paul riffed.

So, Paul is blaming the media for asking the tough questions. Granted, they wouldn’t ask the same tough questions of a Democrat, but, that’s the way the game is. This line of inquiry would be a constant were Paul to become the nominee. The American electorate would be treated to a litany of All Things Ron Paul. Racism, antisemitism, anti-Israel, pro-Iran, money from neo-Nazi white supremacists, 9/11 Trutherism, CIA conspiracies, CIA taking over the government, advice to extremist militias, the hit parade keeps going. He cannot explain this away, so, Paul does what many of his supporters do, say it is “old news.” The Big 3 networks average 23 million views combined for their evening news. How’s this going to play during the election silly season?

American Power also has the video, and links to this LA Times report

Paul has disavowed the ranting of the newsletter published under his name (just as he did when the subject came up in 2008) and his spokesman says that Paul didn’t write it and “disagrees with it totally.” That’s comforting. Sort of. It helps distance Paul from these lunatic scribblings, but it fails to answer the question of why he allowed them to be published in the first place. He and his admirers complain bitterly when he’s ignored, then protest when he’s scrutinized. Paul should answer for these writings.

You can accuse Mitt and Newt of many things, but not this. Newt has his infidelity, Washington insiderness, lobbying for Fannie and Freddy. Mitt has RomneyCare and being a squishy Republican. Huntsman has working for Obama and wanting to pass legislation and regulations for globull warming. Bachmann likes to same some wacky things. Cain was knocked out over the accusal of affairs. Compare and contrast with

What can you do? More and more Americans are carrying a gun in the car. An ex-cop I know advises that if you have to use a gun on a youth, you should leave the scene immediately, disposing of the wiped off gun as soon as possible. Such a gun cannot, of course, be registered to you, but one bought privately (through the classifieds, for example).

I frankly don’t know what to make of such advice, but even in my little town of Lake Jackson, Texas, I’ve urged everyone in my family to know how to use a gun in self defense. For the animals are coming.

The insinuation from the article is that the “animals” are Black youths. Italkyoubored has most of the newsletter writings.

Now, you may say “hey, Teach, lots of these things make sense, they are just non-PC. I thought you hated PC?” I do hate PC, but, the world is what it is, not what we want it to be. And, yes, some do make sense, in an offensive sort of way. Presidential candidates shouldn’t have their name on them, though.

PS: Let’s not forget, via USA Today

Paul told TheDallas Morning News in 1996 that the contents of his newsletters were accurate but needed to be taken in context. Wednesday, he told CNN he didn’t write the newsletters and didn’t know what was in them.

So, was he lying then, or lying now?

And, here’s Hot Air linking to a video of Ron Paul in 1995, plugging his newsletters.

  1. Obvious enough by now to any non-brainwashed thinking person just what’s wrong with Ron Paul

What I want to know is what the paulbot cultists are smoking, and why would they would want to hook up their wagon to such a squirelly dude in the first place

It is fine for Paul to disavow the writings in the newsletter. He has to. But the newsletter staff included his wife and daughter on the editorial staff.

Is he really trying to pass off the idea that he didn’t agree with what was written, but the woman he married and the child he raised do agree?

Like many of the things Paul says, it just doesn’t make sense.

  3. And the Paulites are still clueless. The new talking point I have seen regarding the newsletters is that it is hard to differentiate between fact and speculation. That’d play well in the news, eh?

We have a choice in this election, we can go with the Reps and Dems constantly in our business and telling us what to do, even in our personal lives, or we can try to return our country to one of freedom.

  5. gitarcarver says:

Yeah david, we know that you are a big Ron Paul supporter, so you can go with his type of “freedom” where hypocrisy, hatred, lying, disloyalty and polices designed to fail are the norm.

  6. Adobe Walls says:

Good advice though about the “clean gun”, as for what are the Paulbots smoking? Really?
