Michelle Obama Now Taking On Restaurants Over Portions

Because you’re just too stupid to know what is best for you

After wrapping her arms around the retail giant Wal-Mart and trying to cajole foodmakers into producing nutrition labels that are easier to understand, Michelle Obama has her sights set on a new target: the nation’s restaurants.

A team of advisers to the First Lady has been holding private talks over the past year with the National Restaurant Association, a trade group, in a bid to get restaurants to adopt her goals of smaller portions and children’s meals that include offerings healthier than French fries and soda, according to White House and industry officials.

And you will probably pay the same for those smaller portions. How about minding your own damned business, Michelle?

Meanwhile, at the White House Super Bowl Party yesterday, the Obama’s showed their commitment to eating nothing but nutritious foods in small portions:

Why doesn’t she emphasize that it is personal responsiblity to take care of one’s health and not the resturant association? This seems to be all these people can think of, more government so that you don’t have to think.

  5. Well, see, Michelle knows What Is Best for you, because you just can’t be trusted to make the correct choices for yourself, and, she will use the power of Los Federales to pressure everyone else, while she and Barry chow down.

That tub of lard telling restaurant chains not to serve more food? Asking for the manager every time I go to a restaurant and chewing him out because his chain listened to Mrs. Chewbacca will be effective, I think. Maybe when she gets her husband to quit smoking she can work on getting Americans to eat what she tells them is best for them.

Soon all you can eat buffets will be outlawed.

Meanwhile at the White House Super Bowl party Mooochelle Antoinette serves

    Bratwurst
    Kielbasa
    Cheeseburgers
    Deep Dish Pizza
    Buffalo Wings
    German Potato Salad
    Twice Baked Potatoes
    Snyders Potato Chips and Pretzels
    Chips and Dips
    Salad
    Ice Cream

Advising children and parents to eat healthy foods is a good thing. Awareness is also. For some folks, it may not be obvious what foods are good for you or which are bad. I can’t imagine anyone living in the US today is of that category, but it still isn’t wrong for the First Lady to provide this healthy message.
Dictating what anyone else should eat, or what a restaurant can or cannot serve is, well, dictatorial and unacceptable. If I am too stupid to know that a meal consisting of fries with my 12 oz steak followed by the Death by Chocolate dessert, is not heart friendly, and then proceed to do so more than once in a while, then it’s called flushing the gene pool. And I might add, my doctor does bloodwork annually on my husband and I, and he tells us what levels are up, what our diets are doing to us and how to avoid it becoming a problem. I don’t need my local or federal govt reps doing the job of my doctor. And I would rather die than not have the aforementioned steak meal occasionally.
Like the new ban in NY on smoking in public parks and on beaches, I say get your stinking nose outta my habits, good bad or ugly- they’re MY choice. I’ll smoke, salt my food, and eat the occasional Whopper with full adult consent and knowledge, and no help from Big Brother.
Which brings me around to abortion. If it’s a “woman’s choice” on whether to kill a baby in utero, then why isn’t it her same choice to eat fried chicken and biscuits?????? Seems to me “she” can be expected to make some pretty heady decisions on her own when it comes to abortion, but is apparently too fricking stupid to make them on a menu or at the grocery store.
Says volumes, that our government feels we need to be herded this way for our own good, but no one in government wants to warn against getting pregnant and or not having to kill the baby if you do. Can anyone in DC spell AGENDA?

I can tell the Diva hasn’t taken her kids out to a restaurant in a while, or she would know that places like Wendy’s, McDonald’s, and Burger King, have been offering alternatives to fries with their kids meals. Things like Apples, mandarin oranges, and yogurt.

Taking the kids out would mean she would need to spend time amongst the ‘little people’. We wouldn’t want to be touched by those icky masses, would we Shelly?

  9. Larry says:

I forgot to add that the alternatives to fries have been available for quite a while now. Starting back during the evil Booooshhh years.
