AGW Increases Volcanic Eruptions And Slavery, Plus Bad Indians

A thaw of Iceland’s ice caps in coming decades caused by climate change may trigger more volcanic eruptions by removing a vast weight and freeing magma from deep below ground, scientists said on Friday.

She and Sigmundsson wrote a 2008 paper in the scientific journal Geophysical Research Letters about possible links between global warming and Icelandic volcanoes.

Anthony Watts has more on the subject. Moving on to slavery

As climate change intensifies, the impact for families to find food, brings desperate measures. Families are now seeking any solution to survive. The selling of daughters into slave markets is, one of the solutions, causing young women , girls to be swept away by what many guess are modern slave traders.

How about those bad Indians?

Early Native Americans caused more carbon dioxide emissions than previously thought—and they thus contributed to global warming even before the industrial era began, a new study suggests.

Somehow, I don’t think they cared about it, as they had other things on their minds

The indigenous peoples burned trees as part of forest-management strategies that ultimately led woodlands to yield more of the nuts and fruit that the peoples ate in abundance, according to scientists. The result: emissions of carbon dioxide, one of the key heat-trapping gases blamed by climatologists for global warming.

Ah. Food. Raising the standards of living. Check. All those things liberal climate alarmists want to significantly reduce in modern society.

Initially, Springer and collaborators from University of Texas at Arlington and University of Minnesota were studying historic drought cycles in North America using isotopes, or variants, of carbon in stalagmites. To their surprise, they said, the carbon record contained evidence of a major change in the local ecosystem beginning at 100 B.C. This intrigued the team because an archeological dig in a nearby cave had yielded evidence of a Native American community there 2,000 years ago.

That’s interesting, since a. we have had multiple warming and cooling periods over the last 2,000 years, and b. the Earth had been in the same situation over the last 7,000 years, as the changes from the end of the last ice age slowed down into small oscillations. But, hey, it’s all about Blaming Mankind.

    Let’s see…

Iceland hasn’t warmed up AT ALL since 1941. Yet the magma formed up anyway. And what of that island that formed up from a new volcanic vent 2-3 decades back? Did ice on the ocean floor melt?

Slavery… well it is pretty Warm in most muslim nations, so that might explain why they’ve been selling slaves for 1400 years (right up the the present day). And the Roman Warm Period was warmer than today, so I can see why they had slaves… Did the Vikings have slaves during the MWP? Not sure about that one….. Anyway slavery has been around for 10,000 years, probably longer despite ‘lil johnnies’ obsessions with ‘6000 years,’ so does that mean the Dark Ages cooling and Little Ice Age cooling never happened? In which case, the world is Not getting warmer, ’cause it always has been……………..

As to the Indians: I wish I had sad something months ago. It occured to me last winter that the AGW hystericysts would eventually try to push global warming back to the days when the Human race really began to multiply… and here it comes, just as expected!

If ignorance truly is bliss, ‘lil johnnie must be Ecstatic.

Thank God I’ve always been an avid reader! I couldn’t stand the idea of being ignorant, let alone as ignorant as ‘lil johnnie.

He says Iceland’s volcanic carbon emissions are good news for plant growth and the current eruptions give an indication of the potential for carbon emissions from future volcanos.

“We are living in a period of volcanic quiescence, as we haven’t had a dirty big eruption since 1912; and this is a small eruption but it is giving us the window into what a very big eruption would be like.”
