Google Chrome Part 2

To follow up on my quick post on Google Chrome, it is still lightning fast. It is a great platform for cruising the Interwebz. Not so great for blogging. When you do a cut and paste from other sites in to the WordPress visual editor, it adds TONS of font scripts which come from the browser, not the website. Can always paste using te html mode, of course.

It also doesn’t seem to remember fill in boxes, such as when you are leaving comments.

Can’t figure out a way to add bookmarks. Searching in the page is not as easy as with Firefox and Opera. But, hey, it is really early in development.

One interesting feature is the Incognito window. With this, there is nothing that will be saved when you close the window. No browsing history, no cookies, nada. So, it is great for cruising p0rn sites or other filth, like the Democratic Underground, Daily Kos, etc.

See the little star up next to the address bar? Click it to save the page as a bookmark. Create a new bookmark folder or find your bookmarks by clicking on the Doc icon…you’ll see an option to open a new window or a new tab. I have all my favs in a folder, which I plan to organize this weekend. My idea is to open up my bookmark folder and see folder icons to each of the sub folders.

When you use incognito, the site you are visiting will know you’ve been there. I want to make sure people know this. You’re computer won’t know.

Much of this browser is copied from Safari- which is what browser info is left from visits to sites using Stat Counter, for example.

  2. Good info to know, Raven.

Only really got to play with it a bit last night and this am, looks good.

    Google Chrome is really fast!
Now I can sort 200,000 records inside of Browser (Chrome) just in 1 sec. (Faster than Microsoft Excel):
