I wonder why this isn’t the front page of most of the major U.S. newspapers, who certainly gave the initial reports about our evil, crazy Marines primary coverage?
CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. (AP) — A Marine intelligence officer has been acquitted of charges that he tried to help cover up the killings of 24 Iraqi men, women and children.
A jury of seven officers delivered the verdict Wednesday in favor of 1st Lt. Andrew Grayson after more than five hours of deliberation.
Grayson, who has always maintained he did nothing wrong, was not present at the scene of the killings on Nov. 19, 2005, in Haditha. He had been accused of telling a sergeant to delete photographs of the dead from a digital camera and laptop computer.
Grayson was found not guilty of two counts of making false official statements, two counts of trying to fraudulently separate from service, and one count of attempt to deceive by making false statements.
I wonder if Jack Murtha will appologize for the comments he made proclaiming all the Haditha Marines as evil, crazy people? I won’t hold my breathe.
Speaking of the old coot, what has happened to him? He has been quiet for awhile now. I wonder if the Democrats are muzzling him like they try and muzzle Howard Dean.

Early in the investigations, based upon unknown evidence, Democratic Rep. John Murtha (PA) stated that “there was no firefight, there was no IED that killed these innocent people. Our troops overreacted because of the pressure on them, and they killed innocent civilians in cold blood.â€
Barack Obama, asked about Murtha’s charge by Alan Colmes in June of 2006, stated, “I would never second guess John Murtha… I think he’s somebody who knows of which he speaks.â€
Murtha’s “in cold blood†statement and the Democratic Presidential nominee’s unquestioning acceptance came seven months before the military charged eight Marines with various offenses in December of 2006. Charges against five of the eight Marines have since be dropped for lack of evidence, and in the first of three scheduled trials, Grayson has been acquitted. It remains to be seen if Rep. Murtha or Senator Obama will offer Lt. Grayson an apology, cold-blooded, or otherwise.

“Yeah,†Grayson said outside the courtroom. “The Haditha Marines stood resolute to the cause and they knew in the end that their resolve would result in their innocence. Thank God.â€
Nothing coming from the usual Liberal sources, who apparently think this is not worthy of news, unlike the Marines being accused, without proof, of cold blooded murder.
Gateway Pundit: Don’t expect this story to make the same headlines like it did for days when the story broke. And, don’t expect Rep. John Murtha (D-PA) to apologize anytime soon for calling our US marines “cold-blooded killers.”
