Beer Monday Linkfest: Gore Asks If You Have Heard Of Climate Change

Happy Monday. The start of a new work week. Time to get busy, ramp up the effort, close a few deals. How ’bout a beer?

The Goracle is apparently still on his normal bender, this time, though, I assume it is with Mezcal. I mentioned this issue the other day, now, the Washington Post catches up

Former vice president Al Gore will launch a three-year, $300 million campaign Wednesday aimed at mobilizing Americans to push for aggressive reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, a move that ranks as one of the most ambitious and costly public advocacy campaigns in U.S. history.

The Alliance for Climate Protection’s “we” campaign will employ online organizing and television advertisements on shows ranging from “American Idol” to “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.” It highlights the extent to which Americans’ growing awareness of global warming has yet to translate into national policy changes, Gore said in an hour-long phone interview last week. He said the campaign, which Gore is helping to fund, was undertaken in large part because of his fear that U.S. lawmakers are unwilling to curb the human-generated emissions linked to climate change.

Got that? Lawmakers. The Goracle apparently feels no need to walk the walk himself. So, he doesn’t. This goes back to my “questions for climahysterics.”

This is a typical liberal/progressive strategy. The more the People know about the message, the less they like the message, so, “let’s change the way the message is delivered. That should do it!”

Ed at Hot Air is looking at the story in terms of there being no way The Goracle will be the Dems presidential candidate now.

  1. Ben Keeler says:

I wonder if this campaign will help Gore’s carbon offset company profit.

  2. joated says:

Meanwhile both Ottawa, Ontario and Caribou, Maine have set new snowfall records.

You’re doing a heck of a job there Goracle.

  3. John Ryan says:

Yes Ottawa DID set snowfall records BUT of course as you would have remembered from high school Earth Science, if you were not stoned, snowfall does not equate to low temperatures. In fact the temperature for Ottawa this winter was solidly in the middle of the 100 year average.

Joated let me give you a little hint “which can hold more water vapor: warm air or cold air ?
Here is another why are the interiors of northern Alaska and Antarctica considered to be deserts ?

Also who are you going to rag more Gore or McCain as both are firmly on the global change bandwagon ?

  4. The Goracle will probable make lots of money off of it, Ben.

We don’t have snow, but, it is certainly cooler then normal here in NC, joated.

I don’t back either of them on this issue, John. But, I find it interesting that every little bit of warmth, and tons of other stuff, causes people to yell “it’s man made global warming!!!!”
