Does This Seem Unsavory?

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that there is a problem with this?

Just what did George Bush, Karl Rove, Alberto Gonzales and the rest of the Bush White House and Republican senior staff know about the Justice Department firings — and when did they know it?

Please send a note to your friends, family and neighbors to encourage them to join us in our effort to use the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to try to cut through the White House’s nonsense.

Below is an excerpt from the actual request. To read the full letter, click here.

This letter constitutes a request under the Freedom of Information Act, 5 U.S.C. §552 ("FOIA"), and is submitted by the undersigned individuals who are concerned about the widening scandal involving improper and potentially unlawful attempts, by the Bush White House, Republican Members of Congress and Republican party officials, to influence and interfere in ongoing criminal investigations being conducted by United States Attorneys and to influence the hiring and firing of U.S. Attorneys for partisan political reasons.

The undersigned requestors fall in the category of “other requestors” for purposes of FOIA and the Department’s FOIA fee regulations. On behalf of the undersigned requestors, the Democratic National Committee will pay any fees for searching or copying the requested records. (followed by a spot to put in name, address, zip, and comments)

That link to that post appears on the front page of the official Democratic Party website. I find it disturbing that they want to play these kinds of games, ie, getting all their little minions to sign a FOIA petition, simply for petty political points. Just something unsavory, underhanded, and irresponsible about it. Maybe it is because it subverts the political process, and is disengenuous beyond even their normal activities. And maybe it is because this is not the normal characters, such as Kos, (never)MoveOn, Truthout, etc, but the official Democratic Party.

For a Party that has claimed that it wants civil discourse (we all know that means doing exactly what they say), this is just too much.

WT – The Grateful Deadhead Pelosi & Meatballs …Woodstock ’07 crowd realize that two-term GOP U.S. President George Walker Bush will veto anything they throw his way over the next year and a half, especially when it comes to stabilizing the Birthplace of Civilization – Iraq! IF they had a pair of meatballs WT, the Mod Squad would stop the funding for the war and celebrate in a mud-pit. My Democratic Conservative co-workers are EMBARRASSED that the Pelosi Bunch used their votes last November, and at the moment, can’t define ‘leadership’ nor lead by example!
This is why they’re going after W every minute of every day, with the help of the left-stream lining media losers. It’s blogs like yours that give CONSERVATIVES a chance. I’m hoping for a Giuliani-Romney ticket next year or a Romney-Giuliani ticket. Either way, no Scotchguard spray would be needed in the Oval Office, nor Stainmaster carpeting! God bless.
