Tuesday Linkfest! Kerry Offers a Plan!

Surfing through the news this morning was rather boring. Same ole same ole. Foley Foley Foley, democrats complaining democrats complaining, Iraq sucks Iraq sucks. But, hey, former Democratic rented presumptive presidential contender John Kerry has a plan for North Korea:

Democratic Sen. John Kerry, the president's rival in 2004 and a potential 2008 candidate, assailed Bush's policy as a "shocking failure," and said, "While we've been bogged down in Iraq where there were no weapons of mass destruction, a madman has apparently tested the ultimate weapon of mass destruction."

Oh. Maybe he doesn't. My Bad.

Not one of the Democratic whining heads has offered anything of substance. What would they have us do? There are option

  1. military action, ranging from small scale to full war. South Korea would suffer tremendously, and the 10 million residents of Seoul would be bombed mercilously, being only 30 miles from the DMZ. China could possibly come in on the Noks side. South Korea is very much against military action.
  2. unilateral talks, which is exactly what the Noks want, so they can more easily get the concessions they want, then break their promise. See the Clinton/Albright reactor deal.
  3. multilateral talks, which have so far gone no where, because the Noks aren't being given something for nothing. China needs to be involved, and they are. Dems do not get that.
  4. sanctions, which have yet to harm the Noks leadership so far, but harm the people. Need to find other ways to implement them.

We all know the Dems want to play political games, and the Noks know that the Dems will undermine the President on this issue. They know they just have to wait it out, and possibly get a Dem Congress and President, and then the Noks can get what they want for a promise and a wink.

PS: North Korea's ambassador to the U.N. said that the test and everything else is because the US is mean in our dealings with North Korea. Gee. We tried it the nice way in the 90's (not faulting Clinton) and got nowhere. Now we'll treat the NK gov't like the scumbags they are.

Sister Toldjah is reporting from a Washington Times article that it may not have been nuclear, or may have been a fizzle.

Whether it really was a nuclear test, you can best believe that Washington, DC has taken notice. Which is exactly what Jong-il wanted, along with ‘concessions.’

BAMM! Exactly.

And More: While we are on Kerry, sorta, Jay at Stop The ACLU points to a video of Monsieur rented goalie John Kerry cracking a joke about killing President Bush. Will this earn him a visit from the Secret Service, and will the Party of supposed high ideals decry this behavior? Don't bet on it. You have a better chance of winning Megamillions or Powerball.

Allahpundit thinks Kerry is an idiot who likes to talk tough. Can't disagree.

Texas Rainmaker ponders the question, "f only the Braying Asses were this motivated towards America's enemies (paraphrased)". Actually, to the BAs, Bush and the GOP are America's enemies. Al Queda, Iran, North Korea, they are all just minor issues to be solved with police and appeasement.

  1. Good to see that John Carry is still concerned about the future of the country.
I think he is making some good points, even if the whole north Korea thing is too overblown, I find.

Thank you for sharing this story with me !

  2. You’re welcome, but, I have to say, I fail to see any points by kerry, since he offered no alternatives.
