Trackback Friday Featuring the Surrender Monkey: Democrats Drop The Keys Off

Happy Friday to all! It's that time of the week again! Do you have an interesting post you want to share with everyone? The official Surrender Monkey of the Democratic Party says to do what the Lefties don’t, since they all have the same talking points: link it!

dems drop the keys to Iraq off

Well, the Defeatocrats have finally done it. They have dropped the keys to Iraq off to Al Qaeda and Iran. And, they are ecstatic about it

The Senate and House bills must now be reconciled through negotiations between the chambers. A key difference is that the Senate bill sets a nonbinding goal for withdrawing troops by March 31, 2008, while the House version demands that they be out by September 2008. […] Senator Harry Reid of Nevada, the Democratic majority leader, immediately issued a statement disputing the president’s assertion that the Senate bill, like its House counterpart, is larded with unnecessary spending. “If the president uses his veto pen, he will be the one denying funding for the troops,” Mr. Reid said, adding that the bill includes money needed for homeland security, disaster relief and children’s health care in addition to military needs.

Of course, the Bill, which still includes much that is not military related, has to be reconciled with the House version, which will only happen once that Congress which was going to work tirelessly, or so the Dem leaders told us, comes back from their own spring break, meaning the troops will still be waiting for funding.

And good old Howie Dean said

The Democratic Congress has done its job, and it’s now up to the President to support a new direction in Iraq. Democrats are providing support for our troops and resources for our veterans. This bill also sets a date certain for the redeployment of our forces to better fight terrorism. Our country can no longer afford an open-ended commitment to keep our troops in the middle of a civil war.

Done their job? First, Congress hasn't passed in full a Bill to give to the President as of yet. Second, the Democrats new direction in Iraq is surrender. While the Democrats may like that (the kook fringe doesn't: they want cut and run immediately), I really do not think that is what the Framers and Founders had in mind for Congressional duties. Third, how can our troops effectively fight terrorism when they have no money and/or are brought back to the U.S.A? I forgot, Dems want to fight on our streets. My bad!

A quick update: apparently, Dingy Harry thinks that this pork laden surrender funding bill makes America safer. Well, it makes trees, ewes, and sugar beets safer anyhow.
