GOP Using Democrats Own Words Against Obama

Would this be considered being hoist on their own petard?

(CNN) Hours before the polls closed Tuesday in the final two Democratic presidential primaries, the Republican National Committee began circulating a video of Hillary Clinton questioning Barack Obama’s qualifications to be commander-in-chief, and acknowledging John McCain has this important presidential credential.

“Senator McCain will bring a lifetime of experience to the campaign, I will bring a lifetime of experience and Senator Obama will bring a speech that he gave in 2002,” Clinton says in the one-minute video of CNN’s coverage of a news conference she held on March 8 – the day Obama won the Wyoming caucuses. “I think that is a significant difference. I think that since we now know Senator McCain will be the nominee for the Republican Party, national security will be front and center in this election. We all know that.

The RNC states they will continue to use the words of Hillary, and surely other Democrats, against Obama as the campaign for the general election goes on.

Let’s watch

GOP.com has a long list of Democrats saying Obama is not ready, such as

Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE) Reaffirmed That Obama Was Not Ready To Be Commander In Chief. ABC’s George Stephanopoulos: “You were asked is he ready. You said ‘I think he can be ready, but right now I don’t believe he is. The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training.’” Sen. Biden: “I think that I stand by the statement.” (ABC’s “This Week,” 8/19/07)

and

Sen. Chris Dodd (D-CT) Called Obama’s Foreign Policy Statements “Confusing And Confused.” Sen. Dodd: “Over the past several days. … Senator Obama’s assertions about foreign and military affairs have been, frankly, confusing and confused. He has made threats he should not make and made unwise categorical statements about military options.” (Anne E. Kornblut, “Obama Again Stirs Up Rivals With Statement On Use Of Nukes,” The Washington Post’s “The Trail” Blog, blog.washingtonpost.com, 8/2/07)

That's it! I'm leavin'... Many is the time I've convinced myself to stay here in California, because you don't run away from your problems. You stand and fight. Well, when more people work for the government than private sector, it is very hard to pass a citizen protection...

The biggest problem with using their own words is that triple-faced liars are lauded as though Sainthood was waiting for them just around the corner…..it’s all about the moooovment. Lying is the *progressive liberal* tradition and rules are for the other guys.

Not bad, but he really has to get some ‘groove’ on if he thinks he’s going to defeat Obamama. ;)

Can’t argue with you on that, FH.

So the cool kids want massive tax increases and surrender, John?

You are right, Rosemary. I think we will soon see McCain coming out on the attack. He has kinda been the kid trying to get the attention of mommy when the other two siblings are fighting, but, that should end soon.

No cool kids want to be Republicans… that made me laugh. Everyone thinks they’re the “cool kids” among their peers, even the nerdlingers, John.

William: I wondered if John (and assumed) was just being a smart ass because nobody in their right mind would actually believe *cool* takes precedence over dull-witted injudicious reasoning and logic.
