Surgeon General To Spend Time Going After Chinese Coronavirus “Misinformation”

Seems like a good use of his time

Surgeon general launches effort to get to the bottom of Covid-19 misinformation

The office of US Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy issued a request Thursday for information surrounding health misinformation, seeking input and data from tech companies, health care providers and community organizations.

The request seeks to understand the scope and impact of misinformation on Covid-19 — especially when it comes to health care and people’s willingness to get vaccinated.

“Misinformation has had a profound impact on Covid-19 and our response,” Murthy told CNN. “Studies have demonstrated that the vast majority of the American public either believes common myths about Covid-19 or thinks those myths might be true. And many of those include myths around the Covid-19 vaccine, so we’ve seen firsthand how misinformation is harming people’s health when it comes to Covid.”

This marks the first time the administration has called on tech companies to share certain data publicly, including data on the major sources of misinformation, how widespread it is and who may have been targeted more than others.

So, what, he’s going to use the power of government to data-mine posts and tweets and such? When COVID is supposedly almost over? Maybe he should be asking why some politicians and celebs wear their mask sometime and not at other times. Why Biden wears it outside. Why he sometimes wears it inside and not at others. Why Jen Psaki always takes hers off to speak to people.

The focus has been on reaching out to tech companies with the broadest reach and use, Murthy said, and he wants them to be more transparent and open about sharing data with the public.

“We’ll be looking forward to whatever information they have to share. We’re certainly approaching this with an open mind,” he said. “Many of the new technology platforms have also been talking about solutions that they are trying to implement, but what we want to understand is what data do they have on whether these solutions are actually working or not.”

And what will he do with this information? It’s not all concerning that the government will be taking names of people they believe are engaged in Wrongthink, right?

“Health misinformation is making the jobs of health care workers much harder at a time where our health care work force is strained,” he said. “I hear from health care workers that they are battling Covid in the hospitals during the day, and they’re going home and battling health misinformation at night.”

Ultimately, the information will be shared with the public and used to steer responses to future public health emergencies.

You are not allowed to have your own thoughts, Comrades. Anyway, can we start with the misinformation that cloth and surgical masks actually work? If they did, we wouldn’t have had the Delta and Omicron spikes. The government surely didn’t lie about herd immunity. And they didn’t give us misinformation that the vaccines would stop most people from getting COVID. And they certainly didn’t lie about the number of people who were dying from COVID and not with COVID, right? Or use dated statistics? Nor hide that the NIH was funding gain of function with coronaviruses in China, right? What other lies, er, sorry, disinformation has the government told us?

Climate Cult Still Trying To Make Ukraine War About ‘Climate Change’

They won’t give up. Ukrainians are dying, Around a million have left the country. The nation is being destroyed, and all the cult can think about is their doomsday cult beliefs

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine could set back fight against climate change — or turbocharge it

There are few subjects on which most Democrats and Republicans agree, but Russia’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine has created at least two sources of bipartisan consensus: that Russia should be punished for its actions and that the West’s ability to do so effectively is hamstrung by Europe’s dependence on Russian gas and oil.

As soon as the conversation pivots to what to do about that dependence, however, the answer splits along the usual partisan lines, with Republicans and the oil and gas industry calling for more U.S. production of fossil fuels, and environmentalists and Democrats arguing that the war demonstrates the need to immediately transition to cleaner sources of energy such as wind and solar power.

On Wednesday, two Republican senators, Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee and Dan Sullivan of Alaska, sent President Biden a letter outlining steps he could take to boost U.S. oil and gas production. “Joe Biden has given up the best defense we had against Putin’s evil vision for the world — energy independence,” Blackburn said. “We need to make America energy independent again. It’s time to divest from Russian energy and stop funding Putin’s war, and reauthorize the Keystone Pipeline.”

That makes quite a bit of sense to the average American. But, not to a climate cultist, especially the big wigs who do not have to worry about the rising cost of fuel, which makes everything else go up, including food.

In response, some Democrats have said that not only would building new fossil fuel infrastructure like the Keystone XL oil pipeline worsen climate change, it would have little if any effect on U.S. energy independence. Even if the U.S. produces more than it consumes, if it remains a large consumer of oil and gas it is vulnerable to price spikes caused by foreign supply disruptions.

Yet, those same Democrats refuse to give up their own use of fossil fuels.

Rep. Sean Casten, D-Ill., told The Hill this week that instead of trying to produce more fossil fuels, Congress should pass Biden’s Build Back Better proposal to invest in deploying clean energy, electric vehicles and energy efficiency improvements. “If we make our vehicles more efficient, if we make our homes more efficient — that reduces the need for oil and gas regardless of the source,” Casten said.

Countering Russian aggression toward its neighbors is not the only thing that’s at stake in this debate, as the effort to prevent catastrophic climate change may hinge on how the Western democracies — which produce a disproportionately large share of the greenhouse gas emissions causing climate change — respond to the current crisis.

Piss off, wankers.

The reluctance to change long-term U.S. energy policy in response to the current crisis in Ukraine is understandable, since neither passing Build Back Better nor approving the Keystone XL oil pipeline will actually change the outcome in Ukraine, nor will a U.S. boycott of Russian oil, since Russia can still sell its oil elsewhere. What’s really at stake isn’t the West’s leverage against Russia in 2022, it’s the world’s dependence on fossil fuel producers in the coming years, because selling new fossil fuel leases or approving new pipelines locks in future fossil fuel development. Conversely, beginning the process of permitting and purchasing the means of producing energy from sources like wind and sun would ensure a cleaner energy portfolio in the latter half of this decade.

Meh, to hell with those Ukrainians, right, we have the climate crisis to deal with! Wankers.

Good Grief, Now They’re Advocating Giving Ukraine Three Squadrons Of A-10s

There have been lots of memes about the coming WWIII. We’ve had people, such as Excitable Adam Kinzinger, push for a no fly zone. I certainly agree with Vox that it would be a monumentally bad idea. Thankfully, NATO and Let’s Go Brandon agree. Sending all those troops over to Europe isn’t the brightest idea. What are a few thousand going to do, when the U.S. already has over 50k in the European theater? Here’s another staggeringly foolish idea

Transfer three A-10 aircraft squadrons to Ukraine now

“Give us the tools, and we will finish the job,“ spoke U.K. Prime Minister Winston Churchill in February 1941. Following this powerful speech, U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt proposed and Congress approved the lend-lease program. This provided the U.K. equipment and access to United States production capacity. This action was essential to stopping the Nazi advances.

Zelenskyy has been asking for planes. So far, NATO nations have said “nope.”

Sanctions must be accompanied by military success.

Zelenskyy has requested weapons and support in line with Churchill’s philosophy. Ukrainian soldiers have proved their courage and bravery. There is one more step that could be decisive: the transfer of three squadrons of A-10 aircraft to the Ukrainian Air Force.

This aircraft and its gun system were designed to counter an armored assault in Europe. They proved effective in Desert Storm’s target-rich environment, quite similar to the current advancing Russian force. They also became the infantry’s friend in close-air support missions.

The United States Air Force has deployment packages ready to go. The whole transfer to the Ukrainian Air Force could be completed in days after congressional authorization.

If you want to start WWIII, this would be a good way to do so. How do you get the planes there? Who flies them in? How does Russia react when A10’s which were the property of the United States just days before start blowing up Russian military equipment and troops? Furthermore, who will fly the planes? American pilots? WWIII. Ukrainian pilots? Are any trained on them? They aren’t bicycles. What about all the armaments? Shooting American made depleted uranium slugs would be WWIII.

Exactly zero other nations fly the A10. Hence, no one else trains on it. They would be using made in the USA bombs, missiles, and the aforementioned depleted uranium slugs, which came from U.S. nuclear sites. WWIII. Perhaps the Defense News shouldn’t be letting Everett Pyatt, a former assistant secretary of the U.S. Navy for shipbuilding and logistics, try and drag us into WWIII

The whole thing reads

(1/7) I fully support the right of the people of Ukraine to self determination. However there are many reasons I could not vote for the seven page Resolution that passed the House of Representatives today. (2/7) The resolution contains an open ended call for additional and immediate “defensive security assistance.” This term is so broad that it could include American boots on the ground or, as some of my colleagues have already requested, US enforcement of a no-fly zone. (3/7) It expands the geographic scope of the US commitment to the conflict in Ukraine by condemning the country of Belarus. We should not be seeking to name new enemies or committing to overturning other governments. (4/7) It calls for “fully isolating” Russia economically. This would hurt low-income US citizens who are already reeling from inflation. Innocent people in Russia, many of whom oppose Putin’s aggression, would suffer under crippling sanctions, possibly turning them against us. (5/7) Crippling sanctions could also drive Putin to become more desperate, inciting him to resort to drastic measures such as escalating the weapons employed or the people targeted. (6/7) The resolution contains a gratuitous statement that Ukraine and NATO will determine the relationship between the two of them. Of course this is true, but why should Congress assert this now when the goal is to de-escalate the conflict? (7/7) It calls for continuing support “as long as the Russian Federation continues to violate Ukraine’s sovereignty.” Depending on the definition of “violate,” this could be a US commitment to forever be actively engaged in a conflict with another nuclear country.

Why was a 7 page resolution necessary? Why go so far overboard with the language? Let’s try and reign this back in, folks.

We Can Fight Russian Aggression By Decarbonizing Or Something

You know what? You first, climate cult chumps at the San Francisco Chronicle

Want to fight Russian aggression in Ukraine and beyond? Decarbonize

st greta carOn Monday, a day Russian rockets and artillery were falling on Ukrainian towns and cities, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change put out its most alarming report to date, warning that fossil fuel driven climate change has already “led to some irreversible impacts as natural and human systems are pushed beyond their ability to adapt.” (snip)

Yet, when the Biden administration first announced these sweeping sanctions, many analysts noted the huge exception for energy-related financing. This means that any transactions involving Russian fossil fuel exports — the core of the Russian economy — remain exempt from sanctions. (snip)

President Biden is right to worry about the impact of high energy prices on the U.S. and global economies, especially with inflation already taking a toll. But the reason that Russia holds so much leverage is because we have done so little to decarbonize since the oil embargoes of the 1970s, imposed by OPEC during the 1973 Arab-Israeli war. Even the European Union countries (that have done much more to green their energy use) are incredibly dependent on Russian natural gas, particularly Germany, putting them in a very vulnerable position.

Or, we could stop importing and drill our own. We could work with Canada, as well.

Why has the U.S. fared so poorly in weaning itself off oil, particularly since solar and wind are now cheaper to bring online in most regions than coal, oil and gas?

The reasons are complex, but the usual suspects are mostly to blame — fossil fuel corporations with their decades of lies and misinformation, and the politicians and parties, particularly the Republican Party, which have nested comfortably in their pockets.

But, mostly because they are cheap, reliable, dependable, and affordable, so much so that most climate cultists refuse to give up their own fossil fueled vehicles, boats, motorcycles, and airplane flights.

Rapidly transitioning the U.S. and global economies to renewable energy would not only weaken our foes, it will also save millions of lives while strengthening our national security and protecting our common future.

The first step, done in support of the people of Ukraine, should be sanctioning Russia’s natural gas exports. The next step should be getting the U.S. off oil and natural gas.

Who will this hurt? The poor and middle class folks. Climate cultists do not care.

They do not care if it will hurt you. But, they won’t do it for their own lives.

Brandon’s New(ish) Wuhan Flu Panic Plan Seems Mostly Divorced From Reality

So, I mentioned that Team #LetsGoBrandon was going to release a plan, and they did. It seems a bit behind the times

White House unveils plan to move America to a new stage of the Covid pandemic

The White House on Wednesday unveiled a plan to move the nation to a new stage of the pandemic where Covid-19 “does not disrupt our daily lives,” while also preparing the nation for any new variants that may emerge.

The National Covid-19 Preparedness Plan, which will require additional funding from Congress, is focused on spending on treatments for Covid-19, preparing for new variants, keeping schools and businesses open and continuing the effort to vaccinate the nation and the world.

“Vaccines, treatments, tests, masks — these tools are how we continue to protect people and enable us to move forward safely and get back to our more normal routines. Going out to eat at a restaurant, taking that trip that’s been long delayed, arranging a play date for your kids, attending a sports game, a movie or a concert again,” White House Covid-19 response coordinator Jeff Zients told reporters at a White House briefing.

Schools and businesses are open. People have been eating out at restaurants for a long time, especially in GOP run areas. People are taking trips (uber-leftist Hawaii just removed most restrictions, realizing the island state cannot survive without tourists (arriving via the use of fossil fuels)). People have been going to sporting events: remember the tens of thousands not social distancing or wearing masks at the Super Bowl? Movies? Not much point, there’s very little worth seeing. Concerts? People have been going to those for a year now. I guess, living in the Blue Bubble of D.C. these Democrats miss those things.

A major new part of the plan includes a new “Test to Treat” initiative that President Joe Biden announced during his State of the Union address Tuesday night. He said Americans would be able to get tested for Covid-19 at a pharmacy and receive free antiviral pills “on the spot” if they test positive.

Zients said hundreds of these “One-Stop Test to Treat” locations will open across the country this month. These sites will be at pharmacy-based clinics, community health centers, long-term care facilities and US Department of Veterans Affairs facilities across the country.

Probably at Planned Parenthood. And Brandon will send out more Chinese made COVID test kits! Yay?

The administration will launch a website later this month, Zients said, to help Americans locate vaccines and masks at convenient locations.

Because people had trouble with this since mask mandates started and vaccines became available, right? They think you’re stupid.

“This plan lays out the roadmap to help us fight Covid-19 in the future as we move America from crisis to a time when Covid-19 does not disrupt our daily lives and is something we prevent, protect against and treat,” a summary of the plan shared with CNN reads.

GOP areas have been doing this for over a year now.

“We look to a future when Americans no longer fear lockdowns, shutdowns, and our kids not going to school. It’s a future when the country relies on the powerful layers of protection we have built and invests in the next generation of tools to stay ahead of this virus.”

So, Democrats are going to give up their Progressivism (nice Fascism)?

Keeping schools and businesses open is a key part of the administration’s plan to keep the virus from disrupting normal life. The plan includes working with Congress to secure funding for additional tests and supplies in order to stay open, including tools to improve ventilation and air filtration. The White House will also work to get Congress to approve providing sick leave to workers who miss work because of Covid-19 or because they are caring for a loved one with the virus.

That’s about the only thing worthwhile, except, who’s paying for the sick leave? The government? Or the companies?

The plan also calls for vaccinating children under 5. He hasn’t given up on that.

The plan is here.

Poll: Youngsters Aren’t Real Enthused For Radical Change To Solve Climate Crisis (scam)

Gen Z and Millennials talk a good game on Doing Something about ‘climate change’, especially as climate cult groups enlist their help in lawsuits and such. I’m guess it’s more popular in theory than practice for their own lives

Opinion: Young Americans don’t want radical change on climate issues. They want balance

For those in environmental advocacy, it’s hard to understand why everyday Americans aren’t champing at the bit for climate action. Yet climate consistently ranks lower than Americans’ other priorities ahead of elections. Why? Mainstream environmental messaging.

According to Gallup, issues like COVID-19, poor leadership and even economic issues such as inflation rank much higher than the environment in 2022. Talk of radical change and government restructuring all in the name of climate change simply doesn’t resonate with the American people even if they are concerned about climate change and its associated effects. Instead, we want balance.

If the mainstream messaging discusses the notion that we’re all doomed, that the Earth will die unless we all accept that we need to give up our money, freedom, and life choices to government, well, yeah, it’s pretty bad.

As I’ve written before, climate solutions must be profitable in order to be embraced. Of course, we should prioritize environmental protection and real action on climate, but it’s unrealistic for mainstream environmentalists to think they will garner more support from Americans by telling them the only way to address climate change is to upend their way of life. Efforts to ban natural gas outright and suggestions that coal workers can simply learn to build solar panels are not examples of consensus-building.

Ya think?

Recent polling done by my organization, the American Conservation Coalition, demonstrates that a majority (52%) of Americans ages 18-30 believe “A balance can be struck between protecting the environment and growing the economy at the same time.” Embracing this sentiment, rather than sending the message that climate requires requires huge government policies or bust, is the right way forward in gaining more support for commonsense climate action.

Yeah, they do not want their own lives drastically changed. Go figure.

Surprise: US Officials Knew China Was Withholding Key Data On Wuhan Flu

Oh, and Fauci and company trained scientists at the Wuhan Institute Of Virology

New documents show US officials knew China was withholding data, trained Wuhan Institute scientists

A legal watchdog organization has released 90 pages of communication records between the National Institute of Health (NIH) and the Wuhan Institute of Virology on the subject of grants to the now-infamous laboratory.

Judicial Watch obtained the records, first obtained by Fox News Digital, via a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. The emails draw attention to records between the State Department and National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), run by Dr. Anthony Fauci, that suggest U.S. officials were aware of the Chinese Communist Party withholding key information on the coronavirus before the pandemic outbreak.

“These FOIA documents show that Fauci’s agency has been hiding information on China’s failure to provide essential data on COVID-19,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton told Fox News Digital. “The slow-rolling and stonewalling by Fauci’s agency on China, gain of function, and its COVID response generally is pure obstruction.”

Now, Fauci and the rest of his sycophants wouldn’t obstruct, would they? Where’s he been lately?

In a Jan. 7, 2020 email sent from the American Embassy in Beijing titled “PRC Response to Pneumonia Cases Shows Increased Transparency Over Past Outbreaks, but Gaps in Epidemiological Data Remain,” officials express concern that a lack of “basic epidemiologic information” was hindering risk assessment and strategic cooperation for scientists outside China.

“While [People’s Republic of China (PRC)] health officials have released timely and open general information about the outbreak, a lack of epidemiological data, including an ‘epi curve’ (a summary of dates of onset of the illness), characteristics of infected individuals and other basic epidemiological information hinders better risk assessment and response by public health officials,” the email stated.

“Authorities have also not released information on how they are defining a ‘case.’ Given these gaps in detailed information to-date, and lack of a final confirmed pathogen, the risk to the United States and global health is difficult to assess at this time.

So, Fauci and company knew there were problems, and did not tell anyone this. Further, the National Institute of Health was helping train the people at the Wuhan institute, and, most likely, doing a piss poor job at it. Sooner or later we will get the full data, showing that COVID19 came from the lab.

There’s A Link Between ‘Climate Change’ And Putin Or Something

It just goes to show that no matter what happens, the Cult of Climastrology will drag their doomsday cult beliefs into the subject

The link between Putin and climate change

Not now, climate change scientists. Don’t they know there’s a war?

On Monday, the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) released the second part of a major report, five years in the making, that paints a stark picture of the impact climate change is already having on the world.

Yet, amid the urgency and desperation of the war in Ukraine, the report is unlikely to get the attention it warrants.

Given the timing of the release, the IPCC is inadvertently conducting an experiment proving its most crucial new finding: Whatever disorder we make in the world will ally itself with climate change and deplete our ability to respond to either.

The war in Ukraine is tied to the climate crisis in multiple ways. The aggressor is a petrostate whose long-term economic future depends on slow action to cut emissions. Europe’s dependence on Russian oil and gas is driving rival conversations about accelerating clean energy and exploring new, alternative sources for fossil fuels. Ukraine is a major grain and corn producing country, and the invasion may create a food shock that exacerbates climate-driven hunger in parts of Africa.

Yeah, it pretty much continues downhill after that, dragging in Putin, Ukraine “climate scientists”, and Doom.

The other doomsday: Climate change isn’t as flashy as war, but just as much of a threat

At this point, the language of scientific warnings about climate cataclysm has familiar characteristics, even as it gets more dire: The climate is changing as a direct result of human activity; the change is accelerating due to our inaction; some of the consequences are now unavoidable; and it will wreak havoc on our society, plunging billions into food insecurity, storms, fires, heat waves, floods and other assorted mayhem.

Ukraine war upends Biden’s agenda on energy, climate change

As Russian troops move deeper into Ukraine, President Joe Biden is taking steps to rein in rising energy costs even if those moves run counter to his agenda for addressing climate change.

Biden announced on Tuesday that he is releasing 30 million barrels of oil from U.S. strategic reserves as part of a 31-nation effort to help ensure that supplies will not fall short after Russia’s invasion of its European neighbor. The release follows ones ordered in November that also were coordinated with U.S. allies.

This is all just sooooooo inconvenient to the cult forcing their beliefs on Other People while refusing to practice what they preach.
