Obama To Bring Apologies To Islamists Tour To United Nations, Call For Peace In Our Time

He apparently just can’t himself. It’s not like the UN’s Islamic Block hasn’t been pushing for defamation of religion measures for years (meaning only the Muslim faith), something which Sec Of State Hillary seems to approve of. And of which the OIC looks to push hard during the coming UN session

(Politico) National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor previews the president’s speech to the UN General Assembly next week:

“UNGA always provides an opportunity for the President to put the international situation in context, and to put forward a vision of US leadership. I would certainly expect the President to address the recent unrest in the Muslim world, and the broader context of the democratic transitions in the Arab World.”

“As he has in recent days, the President will make it clear that we reject the views in this video, while also underscoring that violence is never acceptable – a message that has been echoed by the leaders he has personally reached out to in places like Libya, Egypt and Yemen. He will also send a clear message that the United States will never retreat from the world; will bring justice to those who harm Americans; and will stand strongly for our democratic values abroad.”

What’s with “we reject” business? Sorry Obama, you do not speak for me in the “we”. I am laughing at that stupid movie as is my right under the 1st Amendment. I am laughing at those who are killing each other over a video they haven’t seen.

I’d be surprised if Obama, Clinton, Susan Rice, Jay Carney, or most in the O admin have even seen the videos themselves. What it appears as if Obama will do in front of the UN, a body composed of countries run by thugs and dictators, many of whom rely upon the United States for their survival, many of which are terrible when it comes to human rights, is trash our 1st Amendment rights on the world stage. He took an oath to defend the Constitution, yet, once again, he plans on violating that oath.

But, while at the UN, he’ll also be blowing off face to face meetings with world leaders (via The Last Tradition). But, he does have an appearance with “The View” scheduled. It’s almost like he’s using the UN trip as cover for campaign events. Fausta noticed this as well

The Middle East and most of the Muslim world are in flames, but the President of the USA will not have time to meet with Netanyahu, nor with the the presidents of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, Tunisia, Yemen, Myanmar, or the king of Jordan at the UN this week…

Essentially, Obama’s going to give a speech, then move on, expecting everyone else to just fall in line. He refuses to put in the hard work to actually govern. Of course, denigrating private citizens engaged in Free Speech comes easy for Obama.

NJ Senate Votes For “Inquisition” Regarding Vaccinations

Here we go

(NJ.com) With cases of whooping cough surging and a growing number of parents claiming a religious exemption from vaccinations for their children, a Senate panel day approved a measure making the shots much harder to avoid.

“I think the religious exemption was being misused,” state Sen. Loretta Weinberg (D-Bergen), a sponsor of the bill, said. “And we have statistics of a growing number of non-immunized children. We’re starting to see some outbreaks like whooping cough.”

There’s no doubt whooping cough is a danger. And there are, unfortunately, many religious and pseudo-religious people (think Scientology) who refuse to vaccinate. So, the NJ Central Planning Office has a plan

The legislation would require parents to submit documentation to the school explaining how the vaccination would conflict with the “bona fide religious tenets or practices of the student” and include a signed and notarized letter explaining how the religious conviction would conflict with the vaccination.

In addition, the bill would state that the religious belief was held consistently, did not apply only to vaccinations, and that the parent understood the risks of avoiding the shot.

People are going to have to prove their religious beliefs in a long, notarized letter? And also get a signed letter from a doctor? Yet NJ is against people proving who they are with ID when they vote. And the State health commission could still override the religious exemption if he/she so chooses.

“In reading the mandates, I could not help thinking it was like the inquisition. The parents must write a treatise on their beliefs. Then they must get it notarized,” said Deborah Huber, legislative vice president for the National Organization for Women of New Jersey, which she said has taken a “vaccine choice” position similar to their pro-choice stance on abortion.

Personally, I’m blown away by the leader of the far left group NOW NJ making that statement. Which should explain just how bad this legislation is.

Siemans Plans Large Layoffs Over Wind Power Credit

Imagine that Congress managed to eliminate the tax deductions that oil companies benefit from: what would happen? Would there be massive layoffs? Would plants shut down? Er, no, we’d just see a rise in cost of oil and gas. What happens when an “alternative energy” tax credit is not extended?

(CBS) Wind energy equipment manufacturer Siemens Energy Inc. will lay off 615 workers in Iowa, Kansas, and Florida in part because Congress has not renewed a tax credit for wind energy, the company said Tuesday.

Siemens said the biggest job losses will come in Fort Madison, Iowa, where 407 workers at a wind-turbine blade factory will be out of work. About 220 workers will be retained at the plant to support ongoing operations, spokeswoman Melanie Forbrick said in a statement.

The company blamed difficult market conditions due to lack of congressional action on a wind energy tax credit as well as increased use of natural gas-fired power plants. It said it has worked for the past 10 months to address the uncertainties but needed to adjust its work force until demand for turbines returns.

Without the tax credits (and government subsidies) many “green” energy companies cannot survive. The costs are already sky-high, and the only way to sell the wind turbines and get them operating is with those tax credits and subsidies. There’s only so much cost that can be passed on to the consumer, since wind and solar are already much more expensive energy sources than, say, natural gas.

We learn this information by way of Grist, which points out that those evil Republicans, and, hey, Harry Reid, are killing the tax credits and subsidies through inaction. Grist is highlighting a letter sent to Congressional leaders from 19 companies, asking that the credits be kept, and

The companies that signed the letter are lobbying to save a few bucks on their electricity bills.

Well, then why don’t they put up a whole bunch of wind turbines and solar panels on their own buildings at their own expense?

Pakistani “Day Of Love” Ends Just The Way You Imagined

Who would have seen this coming? Well, when people are carrying al Qaeda style flags and wearing al Qaeda style headbands (Salafist), violence is sure to occur

(Perth Now) Thousands angered by an anti-Muslim film ignored pleas for peaceful rallies and rampaged in several Pakistani cities in battles with police that killed 19 people and touched off criticism of a government decision to declare a national holiday to proclaim devotion for the Prophet Mohammed.

But it is Pakistan that has seen the most sustained violence, driven by a deep well of anti-American sentiment and a strong cadre of hard-line Islamists who benefit from stoking anger at the US. The new deaths brought the total to at least 49 – including the US ambassador to Libya – linked to violence over the film.

Analysts accused the Pakistani government of pandering to these extremists by declaring Friday to be an official holiday – calling it a “Day of Love for the Prophet.” Officials urged peaceful protests, but critics said the move helped unleash the worst violence yet caused by the film, titled “Innocence of Muslims.”

Still on the movie kick, eh?

In Bangladesh, more than 2000 people marched in the capital, Dhaka, and burned a makeshift coffin draped in an American flag with an effigy of Mr Obama. Small and mostly orderly protests were also held in Malaysia and Indonesia.

There are reports that it was more like 10,000. And that there were violent clashes with the police, injuring quite a few.

Must be all about a movie. Meanwhile, the US Senate voted down a proposal to hold back aid to Pakistan till the doctor who assisted in finding Osama Bin Laden is released from jail. Sadly, it was a bipartisan vote on Rand Paul’s proposal, which was shot down 81-10.

Maybe now Liberals will turn against the Islamists since they have gone racist.

There were also plenty of other protests within the Muslim world, most of them spewing violent rhetoric. Of course, in Liberal World, if one Tea Party member says something inflammatory, and violence that occurs anywhere is the fault of the Tea Party. If tens of thousands of Islamists threaten “death to American, death to Obama”, well, that’s just a small minority, and any violence is unrelated.

Hypocritical White House, State Department Fail To Condemn “Piss Christ”

How many times in the last week have we heard that the “U.S. rejects “all efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others”” and that the Obama admin and State Dept. “absolutely reject its content and message” when it comes to the video being used as a scapegoat for the Islamist violence and protests which just happened to occur on September 11? The Obama admin. even went as far as asking Google to see if the trailers for the movie violated YouTube’s terms of service, and the filmaker just happened to get a midnight visit from a ton of police. People wondered if Team Obama would do the same when it came to religions other than Islam being insulted. They were quite silent on the play “The Book Of Mormon”, and ……

(Fox News) Religious groups are blasting President Obama for not condemning am anti-Christian art display set to appear in New York City and one Republican lawmaker said he is “fed up with the administration’s double standard and religious hypocrisy.

“Piss Christ,” once branded as a “deplorable, despicable display of vulgarity,” will be displayed at the Edward Tyler Nahem Gallery in Manhattan on Thursday. The artwork features a “photograph of the crucifix submerged in the artist’s urine.”

Rep. Michael Grimm (R, C-NY) wants to know why President Obama hasn’t denounced the exhibit and said he’s fed up with what he called the administration’s “religious hypocrisy.”

“The Obama administration’s hypocrisy and utter lack of respect for the religious beliefs of Americans has reached an all-time high,” Grimm told Fox News. “I call on President Obama to stand up for America’s values and beliefs and denounce the ‘Piss Christ’ that has offended Christians at home and abroad.”

So will the Obama Administration condemn the anti-Christian art display? Will they air a television ad denouncing the exhibit? Will the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff ask the gallery to cancel the exhibit?

The White House did not return calls seeking comment. Neither did the Pentagon.

Of course, the big difference is that there is no concern that all those who are offended by this “art” will riot, murder, destroy property, burn down McDonald’s stores, and threaten America with death. There won’t be any flags burned. You won’t see Christians and Catholics, nor Mormons, marching wearing Salafist headbands and carrying Salafist flags. There might be some protests, but, this “art” has been around since 1989, and there have been no violent protests over it. You can’t say the same about Islamists. This administration has afforded Islam protections it won’t provide to any other religion.

Global warming makes me buy “snow tires”

I’m not kidding, despite the title of this blog post. This year I really am strongly leaning toward getting snow tires for my 2011 Mini Cooper S, and part of the reason is global warming.

Yes, the world is getting warmer. But this doesn’t mean that winter weather everywhere is going to be milder. Actually, it’s going to be weirder.

Hotcoldwetdry raises its head yet again. Sigh.

I will give said Warmist a little credit for own a Highlander Hybrid, though. On the other hand, there is no empirical evidence that warming causes more extreme weather, or “weirding”, as the Warmists call it.

Pakistan’s “Special Day Of Love” Inspires Offerings Of Bullets

Still not quite as much property damage or as many rapes as Occupy, but the body count is closing in

(WSJ) PESHAWAR, Pakistan—Three people were killed and dozens injured Friday when protests by tens of thousands of Pakistanis infuriated by an anti-Islam film descended into deadly violence.

Police fired tear gas and live ammunition in an attempt to subdue rioters who hurled rocks and set fire to buildings in some cities on a holiday declared by Pakistan’s government so people could rally against the video, which has sparked protests across the Muslim world.

Thousands of Muslims protested in at least half a dozen other countries, some burning American flags and effigies of President Barack Obama.

That’s how this “small number of extremist Muslims” celebrates a “day of love for the Prophet Mohammed.”

There were 15,000 demonstrating in Karachi, if by “demonstrating” one means “opening fire with bullets of love” on the police. And plenty more “protests” in Pakistan. And

As well as in Pakistan there were protests Friday in Indian-controlled Kashmir, Iraq, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Indonesia.

The love’s spreading like STDs and lice at an Occupy encampment.

Obama Grilled On Univision Over Fast And Furious

Well, at least one segment of the Legacy Media has some cajones

(Daily Caller) Interviewers on the Spanish-language television network Univision grilled President Barack Obama about the Operation Fast and Furious scandal plaguing his administration in an interview Thursday.

“You told me during an interview that you and Mr. Holder did not authorize the Fast and Furious operation that allowed 2,000 weapons from the United States into Mexico and they were in the drug trafficking [cartels’] hands,” Univision co-host Jorge Ramos asked Obama, according to a translator, during the interview. “I think that up to 100 Mexicans might have died and also American agent Brian Terry. There’s a report that 14 agents were responsible for the operation but shouldn’t the attorney general, Eric Holder, he should have known about that and if he didn’t, should you fire him?”

And how did Obama respond? With a bit of his favorite schtick, Blaming others, and some lying

“Well, first of all, I think it’s important to understand that the Fast and Furious program was a field-initiated program, begun under the previous administration,” Obama said. “When Eric Holder found out about it, he discontinued it. We assigned an inspector general to do a thorough report that was just issued — confirming that in fact Eric Holder did not know about this, that he took prompt action and that the people who did initiate this were held accountable. But, what I think is most important is recognizing that we’ve got a challenge in terms of weapons flowing south, and the strategy that was pursued out of Arizona, obviously, was completely wrongheaded. Those folks who were responsible have been held accountable. The question now is, how do we move forward with a strategy that will actually work?”

So, the buck apparently doesn’t stop at the White House. Furthermore, the program was vastly different from the Bush era program, as has been explained numerous times. And how does the strategy move forward? How about informing the Mexican government next time?

“We are going to have to work with Mexican law enforcement to accomplish this, but I will tell you that Eric Holder has my complete confidence, because he has shown himself to be willing to hold accountable those who took these actions and is passionate about making sure that we’re preventing guns from getting into the wrong hands,” Obama continued.

Working with the Mexican government would be a first for this administration. Because they apparently still haven’t, all while 1,300 F&F guns are still on the streets.

Univision continues to grill Obama on this subject, asking why Obama hasn’t released all the related documents, and asking for an independent investigator, which Obama really doesn’t want.

The Daily Caller is also reporting on the DOJ IG stating that the Obama administration obstructed his investigation.
