Obama States That The Election “Has Nothing To Do With Libya”

Obama took time for an interview with KUSA-TV Friday, and reporter Kyle Clark decided to perform a random act of journalism (while Brian Williams was following Obama around and slobbering) (video at the link)

President Obama discussed the situation in Libya during a satellite interview Friday afternoon with 9NEWS reporter Kyle Clark, who also asked if it’s fair for Americans to be told to wait until after the election to learn what truly happened in Libya.

“The election has nothing to do with four brave Americans getting killed and us wanting to find out exactly what happened,” President Obama said. “Nobody wants to find out more what happened than I do.”

President Obama was directly asked twice whether pleas for help on the ground in Libya were denied during the attack. Both times, he repeated his standard call for a thorough investigation.

Au contraire, it has everything to do with Americans left hanging out to dry, because this is all part of the the pattern of incompetence of the Obama administration, and the incompetence starts at the top. We have the worst economic recovery post-recession ever, with the US economy just malaising around since July 2009, the end of the recession. Two Americans and over 200 Mexicans killed thanks to the guns the Obama administration walked and didn’t bother tracking. Blowing off our allies around the world. Our enemies laughing at the USA. And now this fiasco in Libya.

The Politico covers this, and Doug Ross makes a good comment: “Is it just me, or does the president look like he’s choomed?” He also writes

I think we can surmise why the president wouldn’t answer the question. Several reliable sources told me (since confirmed here) that the President would have been alerted within minutes of the attack commencing in Benghazi. Therefore, his refusal to answer the question speaks volumes.

If Obama thought there was no problem, that Libya was something that just happened, he would be out there talking about all that his people did to rescue the Americans who were killed. And here’s Greg Gutfield

“But, it raises questions why can you politicize bin Laden and not Benghazi?” Gutfeld continued. “Obama takes credit for one and avoids responsibility for the other. And what happens if this films (the National Geographic film about killing Osama) triggers mob violence? Will Weinstein be arrested? He’s been silent on the subject of free expression while the anti-Muslim filmmaker sweats in jail. Perhaps Harvey could keep him company. Heck, they could watch the movie together.”

It’s interesting how Obama wants to wait for a “full investigation”. Will this be the same type in which the Executive Office stonewalls Congress, ala Fast and Furious? And, he sure didn’t bother waiting to blame some video that no one had seen.

Obama also blamed the DOE for the bad “green” energy loans during the interview.

It’ll be interesting to see whether any of the military folks who were told to stand down and not provide help decide to blow the whistle, and whether the decision leads to “National Command Authority”, because there were only a few people who could have stopped any rescue operations.

Surprise! Warmist Links Hurricane Sandy And Hotcoldwetdry

You just knew that someone would do this, right? Michael Tobis steps up to the plate (via Marc Morano)

(Planet 3.0) Climate related? Well, Sandy is one of the new breed of very geographically large tropical storms. And the jet stream is in one of its wamdering moods, also associated with climate change, where what little cold air there is finds its way more than ordinarily far south. As usual with an individual event, theer’s no direct causality. But if something like this pans out it certainly will be perceived as an example weather weirding. And it’s another sort of event that the ever-more-wobbly system manages to serve up to us for our consideration.

Meteorologist Ryan Maue smacks Tobis around.

Big Think wonders if this is Mother Nature’s response for failure to discuss “climate change” during the debates. Climate Progress is lining Sandy to hotcoldwetdry. I’m sure more will come out of the woodwork.

Hey, remember the great Long Island Hurricane of 1938? The atmospheric CO2 was well below 350ppm at that point.

Help Denied During Benghazi Attack Multiple Times

Heads need to roll. Fox News has an exclusive report

Fox News has learned from sources who were on the ground in Benghazi that an urgent request from the CIA annex for military back-up during the attack on the U.S. Consulate and subsequent attack several hours later was denied by officials in the CIA chain of command — who also told the CIA operators twice to “stand down” rather than help the ambassador’s team when shots were heard at approximately 9:40 p.m. in Benghazi on Sept. 11.

Former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty were part of a small team who were at the CIA annex about a mile from the U.S. Consulate where Ambassador Chris Stevens and his team came under attack. When they heard the shots fired, they radioed to inform their higher-ups to tell them what they were hearing and requested permission to go to the consulate and help out. They were told to “stand down,” according to sources familiar with the exchange. An hour later, they called again to headquarters and were again told to “stand down.”

They asked for help a second time. They were denied. There was an officer on the roof of the consulate calling for help as he lased the jihadis. He was denied. A special operations team, which could have been in Benghazi within two hours was told to stand down.

And the local militia tasked with providing security, the September 17th Martyrs Brigade? They finally showed up at 3am, too late to do anything.

The question remains, where was the authority coming from to tell them all to stand down, and why?

Make sure to read the whole thing.

Washington Post: If Obama Loses, It’s Surely Due To Racism

The WP is running two articles today, on a “story” and the other an op-ed, which make it quite clear that you damned white racists who don’t support Obama are racist. First, the “story”

The 2012 election is shaping up to be more polarized along racial lines than any presidential contest since 1988, with President Obama experiencing a steep drop in support among white voters from four years ago.

At this stage in 2008, Obama trailed Republican John McCain by seven percentage points among white voters. Even in victory, Obama ended up losing white voters by 12 percentage points, according to that year’s exit poll.

But now, Obama has a deficit of 23 percentage points, trailing Republican Mitt Romney 60 percent to 37 percent among whites, according to the latest Washington Post-ABC News national tracking poll. That presents a significant hurdle for the president — and suggests that he will need to achieve even larger margins of victory among women and minorities, two important parts of the Democratic base, to win reelection.

What else could this be but raaaaacism? At least to the Progressive mind (and I use the term “mind” very loosely when linking it to Progressives), which doesn’t seem to mind that blacks, of which the Democrat party attempted to keep down with Jim Crow laws and filibustering the Civil Rights Act), vote 95% against the white guy, and 80% of non-whites. Eh, doesn’t matter to them

Dismal support for Republicans among minorities is a long-term problem for the GOP in a rapidly diversifying nation. Fully 91 percent of Romney’s support comes from white voters.

See? Raaaaacism. It doesn’t matter that, historically, whites tend to break for the GOP more than the Dems. Gotta be hatred for that half-black guy in the White House. And here’s excitable Eugene Robinson

This election is only tangentially a fight over policy. It is also a fight about meaning and identity — and that’s one reason voters are so polarized. It’s about who we are and who we aspire to be.

President Obama enters the final days of the campaign with a substantial lead among women — about 11 points, according to the latest Washington Post/ABC News poll — and enormous leads among Latinos and African Americans, the nation’s two largest minority groups. Mitt Romney leads among white voters, with an incredible 2-to-1 advantage among white men.

Eugene then goes on to say that he’s not proclaiming racism

The intensity of the opposition to Obama has less to do with who he is than with the changes in U.S. society he not only represents but incarnates. Citing his race as a factor in the way some of his opponents have bitterly resisted his policies immediately draws an outraged cry: “You’re saying that just because I oppose Obama, I’m a racist.” No, I’m not saying that at all.

What I’m saying is that Obama’s racial identity is a constant reminder of how much the nation has changed in a relatively short time.

He is saying it’s racism. It’s very subtle as he positions the notion of “do you want the America of the past, one which was dominated by Whitey, or do you want the America of the future, where Whitey is a minority?” if you read the whole thing. It’s also an America which is reduced on the world stage and domestically….oh, Eugene intentionally leaves those out.

Some of Obama’s opponents have tried to delegitimize his presidency because he doesn’t embody the America they once knew. He embodies the America of now.

If the America of now is one in which unemployment is high, people give up on the jobs market in despair, food stamp usage is at a record high, the government has control of our health care, earning power is down, GDP is low, and the government can do whatever the hell it wants, regardless of the Constitution, I’ll take the America I knew, even if you call that racist.

Man Who Raises Massive Amounts Of Campaign Cash Whines About Others With Campaign Cash

In case you haven’t figured it out, the man in question is Barack H. Obama

(Daily Caller) President Barack Obama used an interview from the luxury cabin of Air Force One to decry campaign spending by himself and his opponents.

“I think the amount of money that is being spent in my campaign and Mr. Romney’s campaign and in the super PACs that are out there is ridiculous,” Obama said on the return leg of his 48-hour Air Force One tour of eight states.

It’s supposed to cost the Obama campaign quite a bit to campaign while using AF1. It sure costs the US taxpayer a heft sum.

A new batch of financial reports was published recently, showing that the president has raised $657 million to win re-election in 2012.

Obama suggested he would use a second term — when he can’t run again — to impose limits on other politicians’ spending.

He raised $740 million during his first run, including from such illustrious voters as Mickey Mouse, Daffy Duck, and Bart Simpson, not to mention all the overseas and other illegal donations thanks to failing to use the proper measures for on-line credit card donations. He’s doing the same this election. He refused to limit himself to the federal spending limit in 2008, breaking a promise to John McCain. And, despite his complaining about outside spending, he’s failed to divorce himself from the big PACs supporting him

“When the Citizens United [201 Supreme Court] decision came out, I took a fairly unusual step of saying this is bad for our democracy in a State of the Union speech,” he declared.

He acted like his typical un-presidential and obnoxious self and insulted the Supreme Court in a venue in which they couldn’t respond.

“I think that’s an easy choice,” Obama replied. The spending “is bad for our democracy… [and] I continue to believe that.”

Surprisingly, I actually agree with him, because that crazy money raising and spending in 2008 allowed a chump whose campaign was based on policies of “hope and change” and not much else, a cult of personality, to be elected, with all the resulting problems that a guy with no executive experience but lots of extreme far left ideas and a narcissistic makeup one would expect.

Warmists Still Really Bummed That Climate Change Not An Election Issue

They really can’t help themselves. Nor have they become carbon neutral

(Huffington Post) Of the roughly 50,000 words spoken in this month’s three presidential debates, none were “climate change,” “global warming” or “greenhouse gas.”

HuffPo is also upset that other issues have been blown off

The 2012 presidential campaign, not just the debates, has focused heavily from the start on jobs, pushing other once high-profile issues to the sidelines. It dismays activists who have spent decades promoting environmental issues, gay rights, gun control and other topics, sometimes managing to lift them to the top tiers of national attention and debate.

Bummer. Sir David Attenborough is also bummed

Asked what was needed to wake people up, the veteran broadcaster famous for series such as Life and Planet Earth said: “Disaster. It’s a terrible thing to say, isn’t it? Even disaster doesn’t do it. There have been disasters in North America, with hurricanes and floods, yet still people deny and say ‘oh, it has nothing to do with climate change.’ It visibly has got [something] to do with climate change.”

But some US politicians found it easier to deny the science on climate change than take action, he said, because the consequence of recognising the science on man-made climate change “means a huge section from the national budget will be spent in order to deal with it, plenty of politicians will be happy to say ‘don’t worry about that, we’re not going to increase your taxes.'”

Well, yeah, especially when the economy sucks. And here’s excitable Eugene Robinson

Not a word has been said in the presidential debates about what may be the most urgent and consequential issue in the world: climate change.

Is this the same climate that has been stagnant for the last 16 years? And the Lake Wylie Pilot noticed the “climate silence”, and posits

And the election may prove a turning point, say environmentally minded political strategists. It can be a winning issue on the campaign trail, said Betsy Taylor, a political strategist who works with environmentalists. She teaches candidates and advocates to talk about putting American ingenuity to use to address global warming, rather than focusing on science. They also need to focus on the impacts of extreme weather, she said. In that context, people see climate change as their problem, not a faraway global one.

If it’s such a winning issue, why do most politicians stay away from it? Probably because most voters understand that the “solutions” involve massive taxation, increases in cost of living, and loss of freedom. And they can all see what happened in Queensland, Australia, where the party that pushed and passed “climate change” legislation was destroyed in their last election, to the point that the Labor Party is no longer an officially recognized party.

Hey, When Did Colorado Become Chinese Property?

Does this mean that the US only has 57 states now? (via Twitchy)

“I want to build on the progress we’ve made. Doubling clean energy. I want fuel efficient cars and long-lasting batteries and wind turbines manufactured here in China! I don’t want them manufactured in China, I want them manufactured here in the United States!”

He did quickly correct himself, saying, “I don’t want them manufactured in China”, as you notice. Bless his heart, I suppose he’s tired. Too bad so many of the companies he’s chose to push taxpayer funds to have been losers.
