Surprise! Warmist David Roberts Ties Hotcoldwetdry To Newtown

I actually read this article at Grist by David Roberts the other day (I read most stuff at Grist, one of my favorite websites), but never made it down to the end. Fortunately, Steve Milloy did, and notes the Warmist aspect

Newtown: Tragedy, empathy, and growing our circle of concern

Can you guess what “growing our circle of concern” means?

Yet for every ton of carbon we emit, we are firing a bullet into the air. We may not live to see it, but those bullets will rain down on the children of the future, and they will suffer for it. Obama said of the nation’s young:

We know we’re always doing right when we’re taking care of them, when we’re teaching them well, when we’re showing acts of kindness. We don’t go wrong when we do that. (note: this comes from Obama’s Newtown speech)

He also said, of our efforts to protect them: “Surely we can do better.”

Yes. Surely we can do better in protecting today’s children from random acts of violence. But surely we can also do better in protecting tomorrow’s children from suffering that, however distant and theoretical it may seem to us now, will yield just as many broken lives and broken hearts.

That’s right, Roberts used the Newtown tragedy to push “climate change”.

Crazy And Hypocritical Warmist Set To Become Secretary Of State

In case you haven’t heard

(AP) President Barack Obama on Friday nominated Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry, one of Washington’s most respected voices on foreign policy, as his next secretary of state.

Obama even mentioned Kerry’s service in Vietnam, but it was strange that he failed to mention Kerry coming home and slurring the men and women who served in the military during the Vietnam War. Nor did he mention Kerry’s slurs towards the men and women who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Of course, Kerry is also a big time Warmist. Marc Morano writes

Democratic Senator John Kerry is set to become the next U.S. Secretary of State, replacing Sec. Hillary Rodham Clinton. Kerry has declared his intention to treat man-made global warming as a national security threat. See: Sen. John Kerry To Be Nominated As Next Secretary of State: Kerry ‘believes climate change is the ‘biggest long term threat’ to national security’ & A Secretary John Kerry Would Elevate Climate Issues: Reaction: ‘about as far as 2010′s failed Kerry-Boxer climate bill, which failed to launch’

Climate Depot Statement on Sen. Kerry: “Senator Kerry is on record expressing outlandish climate and national security claims based on his basic misreading of climate science. Having a Secretary of State who views the emission of a trace essential gas in the atmosphere – CO2 – as some sort of monster threat to national security or the equivalent a the 9/11 terror attacks or the equivalent of old Soviet nuclear warheads, is a sad day in American history. Kerry is ignoring a large body of data and research that demolishes his beliefs. (see below) The American people deserve much better.” #

Let’s not forget that Kerry compared globull warming to 9/11. He compared it to Armageddon. As dangerous as a nuclear armed Iran. And plenty of other wackadoodle statements. Morano provides many smackdowns to Kerry in the article.

Let’s also not forget that John “Waffles” Kerry is a massive climahypocrite. He lives in a massive McMansion, which uses lots and lots of energy and water, and puts out huge amounts of CO2. And has several homes. He takes lots of unnecessary fossil fueled flights. He owns many fossil fueled vehicles, including SUVs. His “carbon footprint” is much, much higher than that of the average American citizen. He’s the same Warmists who told Senators to make “polluters” pay by instituting cap and tax, but refuses to modify his own lifestyle to become carbon neutral.

Oh, and Kerry was totally against the Cape Wind Project. He’s cool with wind turbines elsewhere, but not in his own “backyard.”

Mayor Of City With Horrendous Murder Rate And Strict Gun Laws Calls For More Gun Laws

If there was a media that was interested in exposing facts instead of pushing a political position, someone might actually ask Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel “how’s that current gun ban working?”

(WGNtv) Gun violence is a daily occurence for mayors across the Chicago area and the state of Illinois, and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel is leading the push for stronger gun control.

“Whether you are a Democrat, whether you are a Republican, whether you’re rural or urban or suburban, whether you’re from Illinois or Gary, Indiana, given what goes on in some of the transfers of illegal guns – having comprehensive legislation at the national level doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t do what we need to do here in the state,” Emanuel said today at a City Hall news conference.

Mayor Emanuel urged state legislators in Illinois and Indiana to pass an assault weapons ban and other common-sense gun control measures.

In urban areas, straw purchases and gun-running are huge problems, so Emanuel and others are looking for ways to better regulate and track the sales of guns.

Except, the criminals who have guns have them illegally, and really don’t care what the laws are. In fact, the Gun Control Act of 1968 prohibits most straw sales and transfers of guns to people who should not have them. Interestingly, they still get them. Weird, eh? Even more strange, murder violates the law, yet people still do it. Stranger still, gun running is illegal, yet, criminals still do it.

“I’m standing here today to support the call for stronger gun regulations and to ask more city leaders, regardless of the size of their community, and especially those who are in smaller communities, to join our cause,” Mayor Teresa Kernc of Diamond, Ill., said at today’s news conference.

All this does is take guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens, leaving them prey to the aforementioned criminals.

In fact, most handguns are banned in Chicago and many of the surrounding towns. And

Since January 1, 1990, an astonishing 14,973 people have been murdered in Chicago. Even worse, many of the victims have been children.

The ban has been in place since 1982. On the flip side, since 1990 the number of murders has dropped from the 900’s down into the 400’s, much of which can be contributed to serious law enforcement efforts to do away with gangs (the 1980’s and 1990’s where huge decades for organized gangs) and citizens getting the hell out of Chicago. Also, better medical care. Over 440 school age children have been shot in Chicago, but “only” 62 have been killed. That’s what’s happening in the city with one of the most stringent gun control laws.

If Emanuel, Mike “Nanny” Bloomberg, and others want to do something, they can get tough on the criminals that have guns. Of course, that’s difficult, and involves breaking Liberal tenants which require law enforcement to treat actual criminals as sociological studies, and, we surely wouldn’t want to infringe on their rights, now, would we? It’s easier for them to stick it to law abiding citizens and call it a day.

And, perhaps all those mayors would be willing to disarm their bodyguards. Practice what they preach.

Hotcoldwetdry Could Maybe Sorta Possibly Cause More Cataracts

Have you hear the latest scary story from Warmists?

(Environmental Health News) Higher summer heat is associated with increased risk of a rare birth defect that can lead to blindness. A 5-degree increase in temperature was associated with a 51 percent increase in congenital cataracts. The strongest link in this new study was found during a specific time of pregnancy when the eye is developing. The finding could be worrisome given climate change and increases in extreme hot-weather events.

First of all, it’s not science when they refer to it as “climate change”, instead of “anthropogenic global warming”. It’s politics. Secondly, let’s take a look at an article at Watts Up With That? by Willis Eschenbach

A 5°F (2.75°C) increase in summer temperature is significantly associated with congenital cataracts? Really? Now, think about that for a minute.

This study was done in New York. There’s about a 20°F difference in summer temperature between New York and Phoenix. That’s four times the 5°F they claim causes cataracts in the study group. So by their claim that if you heat up your kids will be born blind, we should be seeing lots of congenital cataracts, not only in Phoenix, but in Florida and in Cairo and in tropical areas, deserts, and hot zones all around the world … not happening, as far as I can tell.

Warmists tried something similar back in 2008 on World Health Day, saying that increased UV from hotcoldwetdry would cause more cataracts and blindness from cataracts. So far, hasn’t increased. But, without the scary stories which no one in the media tends to follow up a few years down the road Warmists would have a tough time pushing their cult.

Schoolkids Won’t Know What Unconfusing Parking Rules Are

Won’t someone please think of the children?

Snow emergency parking rules confuse drivers

For the first time Thursday, Omaha began enforcing rules that restrict where people can park in a snow emergency, and confusion ensued.

It’s truly horrible!

Obama Wants Americans To Do The Work On Gun Control

With most politicians, this would be a heartfelt speech on getting everyone involved to fix an issue. With Obama’s history, this is outsourcing the issue while ducking any work himself

(Politico) President Obama urged Americans to keep pushing for efforts to combat gun violence, as he thanked hundreds of thousands of people for voicing their concerns to the White House over the course of the week since the Newtown shooting.

“We hear you,” Obama said in a web video released Friday morning, responding to the more than 400,000 people who have signed a collection of petitions on the White House’s We the People website urging a swift response to the Dec. 14 massacre.

“You’ve started something and now I’m asking for you to keep at it,” he said. “I’m asking for your help to make a real, meaningful difference in the lives of our communities in our country and make sure the United States of America is a safer, stronger place for our children to learn and to grow.”

There you go, Liberals/Progressives/Democrats: Obama has given you your marching orders. Give up your own guns.

Call out the vast liberal entertainment industry that makes violent movies and TV shows that feature murder and guns.

Call out the video game industry that glorifies murder and guns.

Call out Obama for surrounding himself with people who carry guns, including automatic assault weapons.

But, mostly give up those guns you use for protecting yourself and your families from criminals who couldn’t care less about laws and often use guns obtained illegally to rob, injure, and kill people (doing those things are also against the law, just to be clear).

Palin Mocks Time And Obama Over Person Of The Year Selection

CNN provides some of the details, which seem oddly similar to an article at the Atlanta Black Star (read both, and realize that the ABS article was posted before the CNN article, and is trending on several news aggregators), minus the Palin Derangement Syndrome

(CNN) Managing editor Richard Stengel wrote Obama deserved the recognition because he “forged a new majority, turned weakness into opportunity and sought, amid great adversity, to create a more perfect union.”

But Palin, who along with 2008 GOP presidential nominee Sen. John McCain, lost to the Democratic presidential ticket four years ago, said “those are some silly words chosen to describe Barack Obama.”

“When I first heard that, the first thing that popped in my mind was: What the heck has he done? Really, what has he done, except drive us over a fiscal cliff,” she said. “What has he done to unify and make our nation a more perfect union? For the life of me, I don’t know.”

Well, he is giving free stuff to people. Paid for by borrowing 46 cents on every dollar the United States federal government spends. He’s increased the debt by over $6 trillion dollars. He’s made Americans even more divided. He blames everyone else, and demonizes private citizens and entities.

(Atlanta Black Star) Palin offered this assessment of the proper path “toward a more perfect union.”

“The path toward a more perfect union is our Constitution and I think we’ve seen examples of our President not necessarily following the Constitution,” she said. “In fact, he’s wanting to change the Constitution because he see it as a charter of negatives…and he’s made statements in the past about his view of our Constitution. And following the Constitution is the blueprint toward a more perfect union.”

If the Founding Fathers truly agreed with Palin, they wouldn’t have seen the need to continually add amendments to the constitution. But let us not pick nits with the former governor.

Ah, but the Founding Fathers left a path for adding amendments, but until such time, elected officials are legally required to follow what the Constitution says.

Palin also had a few things to say about Benghazigate and the former Marine being held in Mexico, which team Obama is doing nothing about. The media doesn’t want to focus on those, obviously.

Sanford Vs Sanford For Tim Scott’s Seat?

How fun could this be?

(Washington Post) The Republican primary to replace Rep. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) could pit former South Carolina governor Mark Sanford against his ex-wife, Jenny Sanford.

That’s a match I’m up for watching.

Warmist Compares Ignoring Hotcoldwetdry To Manslaughter

Hey, remember when Warmists were saying they had to be more rational and less unhinged? Not working out too well

(The College Fix) A prominent UC Berkeley professor recently linked ignoring global warming with watching people die during a guest seminar at Ohio State University.

Citing monsoons and other extreme weather phenomenon on the other side of the globe, Kirk Smith, a global environmental health professor, said climate change is “a moral issue.”

Smith told an anecdote to the audience of a professor who ignores a drowning child on campus as he rushes to teach a class. He then tells his students about ignoring the child, and they are aghast. Later at home, the hypothetical professor opens his mail and throws away a letter from the United Nation’s Children Fund.

“No one thinks that is immoral, and why not,” Smith said of throwing away the UNICEF letter.  “What’s the moral distinction? … Today climate change is a sin of omission.”

So…..all the Warmists who have failed to give up their fossil fueled vehicles are guilty of manslaughter.
