Guess Who’s Benefited The Most During The Obameconomy?

That would be the top 10% of income earners

(Washington Times) Under President Obama, the richest 10 percent were the only income group of Americans to see their median incomes rise, according to a survey released this week by the Federal Reserve.

The Fed data covered the years 2010-2013, during which period Mr. Obama constantly campaigned against income inequality and won re-election by painting his Republican rival as a tool of Wall Street plutocrats.

“Data from the 2013 [Survey of Consumer Finances] confirm that the shares of income and wealth held by affluent families are at modern historically high levels,” the report said in noting that the median income fell for every 10-percent grouping except the most affluent 10 percent.

“The 2013 SCF reveals substantial disparities in the evolution of income and net worth since the previous time the survey was conducted, in 2010,” the report stated. The SCF is conducted by the Federal reserve triennially and compiles information about family incomes, credit use, net worth and finances.

It’s no wonder Obama and Democrats yammer on about income redistribution and raising the minimum wage and other populist notions, as well as ever rising numbers of people on government assistance: their policies have caused direct harm to the incomes of the bottom 90%, while significantly helping those in the top 10%.

“The wealth share of the top 3 percent climbed from 44.8 percent in 1989 to 51.8 percent in 2007 and 54.4 percent in 2013. … The share of wealth held by the bottom 90 percent fell from 33.2 percent in 1989 to 24.7 percent in 2013,” the report stated.

When’s this “recovery” going to happen?

High Flying Hillary Clinton Calls “Climate Change” Most Important Issue Facing Nation And World

Former Senator and failed Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who used lots and lots of fossil fuels to perform those jobs, is traveling all around the country, nominally to support her book, using lots and lots of fossil fuels, gave her take on “climate change”

(Politico) Hillary Clinton expounded on climate change, energy exports, natural gas drilling and green energy Thursday — all while managing to play it safe.

At Sen. Harry Reid’s National Clean Energy Summit, Clinton called climate change “the most consequential, urgent, sweeping collection of challenges we face as a nation and a world.”

She apparently missed the memo that fossil fuels are Bad for “climate change”. And we shouldn’t be surprised that she has ignored the danger from Islamic extremists, Russia, China, and other players.

She also cited the potential benefits of producing and exporting natural gas and oil.

Huh. Strange. She also stated that she’s 100% onboard with Obama’s EPA dictates. As long as they do not affect herself, of course. She also decided to use derogatory language

(MSNBC) Hillary Clinton called out climate change “deniers” at a clean energy conference in Las Vegas Thursday evening, but revealed little new about what her own energy policy platform might look like if she decides to run for president.

Clinton began her remarks at the National Clean Energy Summit by laying out the problems climate change is already causing today, including extreme weather and droughts. “[These are] the most consequential, urgent, sweeping collection of challenges we face,” she said. “No matter what deniers say.” (snip)

“Aside from the deniers and the special interests and all the other folks who want to pretend we don’t have a crisis is the fact that we are leaving money and jobs behind,” she said. “For those on the other side, they have to answer to the reality they are denying peoples’ jobs and middle class incomes and upward mobility by their refusal to look to the future.”

Clinton never did anything of consequence in the Senate. No big pieces of legislation sponsored. She was a joke of a Secretary of State. Though some of that can surely be blamed on her boss, Barack Obama. Now she’s out there using derogatory language, equating American citizens with Holocaust deniers, all while using lots and lots of fossil fuels. And doing this in a place that uses massive amounts of power.

(ABC News) If Hillary Clinton has it her way, every casino in Las Vegas would soon be getting a makeover.

During her keynote at the 7th annual National Clean Energy Summit in Las Vegas today, Clinton called for companies to retrofit buildings to become more energy efficient, and challenged the city’s biggest industry–casinos–to start making the change.

“Imagine if every casino in Las Vegas retrofitted to improve energy efficiency and if they made it possible for all their employees to do the same in their homes,” Clinton said. “It would save on utility bills. It would save on energy. It would save on greenhouse gas emissions.”

If Hillary has her way, they will be forced to do just that, which will result in rolling brownouts and blackouts, along with a loss of jobs. While she still lives the Big Carbon Footprint lifestyle.

Imagine if she took the threats from extremist Islam, Russia, China, and others seriously. Instead of this mostly made up notion of “climate change”.

You Need To Give Up Burgers To Save The Planet From Getting A Fever

Yeah, I mean you. Not the article writers. You. Here’s Warmists Alex Rodin

If you really care about climate change you’ll stop eating burgers

Give up meat, save the planet. It really could be that simple, as new research warns that without radical changes to our diets, the food industry alone is likely to cause an 80 per cent increase in greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, exceeding the current emissions targets for the entirety of the global economy.

This creates something of a dilemma for steak loving environmentalists, like myself, who have so far managed to skirt around the issue of meat, instead preferring to focus our righteous efforts on recycling yoghurt pots or investing in energy efficient light bulbs.

Burgers, chops and pies are regular winners of the daily contest to satiate my carnivorous cravings. But, every tenderly roasted, lovingly stewed and patiently encrusted bit of flesh, that once made salivary glands froth and bellies expand, are now unambiguous contributors to the climate change problem.

If you guessed that nowhere in the article does Mr. Rodin write that he has given up meat, you’d be entirely correct. Surprise!!!! Well, not really, for those who’ve followed the insane ramblings of Warmists.

Obviously, the Everyone Else needs to give up meat to stop Hotcoldwetdry is not a new meme, though they have circled back to it over the past two weeks. There was a big doomsaying article at Motherboard. Sarah Spickernell hyperventilated over the issue of a meat created hell on earth doom

Bad news, hamburger fans. New research shows that if we are going to have any chance of slowing down climate change, we must eat less meat.

We tend to concentrate on practices such as fracking and emissions from coal-based power stations when we consider the prevention of climate change, but a paper published today in Nature Climate Change suggests that the impact of eating habits is no trivial matter.

Well, bad news for Warmists, because they’ll have to flog themselves mentally for a couple of minutes, bow towards Washington, D.C., say a few Hail Gores, promise to spread awareness and take a drive to an anti-fossil fuel protest, then tuck into a nice juicy piece of cow.

There are plenty of articles dealing with the same issue, and they are all about “we”, but never say “yes, I’ve give up meat to save the planet.”

Easily Replaceable Fast Food Workers Striking Again Today

I took a little jaunt to McDonald’s this morning for a Big Breakfast, alas, no strikers at the joint near me. Nor at the Wendy’s, Bojangles, or Burger King in the same areas. But

(WRAL) Fast-food workers in parts of the Triangle walked off their jobs Thursday morning as part of the latest national protest to push companies to pay their employees at least $15 an hour.

Workers in Raleigh rallied at a Bojangles on South Wilmington Street at 8:30 a.m. to demand higher pay and union rights. Nationally, workers in about 150 cities are expected to walk off their jobs.

Fortunately, Mr. Obama wants to legalize millions of illegal aliens who will be happy to take these jobs. Let’s move on to the craziness at Salon

Get a clue, McDonald’s! Why I’m walking off my fast food job today

For the twelve years I worked as an elementary school teacher, bake sales were always a source of pride – for my students, their parents, and yes, teachers too. I still participate in them, only now it’s me doing the baking, and not for donation.

When my younger sister’s severe mental health issues worsened, I had to leave teaching to take care of her. The best job I could find that still worked for our family was at a McDonald’s in Kansas City, Kan., where I earn $7.45 an hour.

Along with cutting hair, selling Legal Shield and Avon products online and babysitting, selling baked goods at my church helps pay the bills that my fast-food job won’t. It’s a means of survival for my five children and me.

September used to mean the beginning of the school year and a new incoming class of students. This year, it means getting ready to go on strike.

OK, I’m confused. Why in the heck would you quit a teaching gig for a job that pays lower wages, has fewer benefits, and potentially worse hours, considering you won’t have a night shift as a teacher, and do not have to worry about getting cut to part time?

That’s what fast-food companies like McDonald’s don’t understand. They think they can ignore us; that we’ll get discouraged; that our movement will fizzle out; that somehow the challenges we face will simply go away. They deflect responsibility for an outdated business model, and refuse to accept that we aren’t high schoolers looking for extra money but mothers and fathers trying to put our children through high school.

Oh, no, they know you aren’t teens. They also understand that the job is worth a certain amount of money, and it isn’t meant for adults looking to raise 5 kids. They also know that strikers can be easily replaced.

More: and by easily replaced, not just by other humans.

Forget That 97% Consensus Meme: Warmists Ramp It Up To 99.999%

Another day, another bit of  derangement from the Cult Of Warming

There is a 99.999 percent chance humans are causing climate change

….

But a new paper by Philip Kokic, Steven Crimp, and Mark Howden published in the journal Climate Risk Management and focusing in depth on historical climate records puts the certainty even higher.

Investigating the large rise in temperatures in recent years — July 2014 was the 353rd consecutive month in which global land and ocean average surface temperature exceeded the 20th-century monthly average — the authors of the paper used a statistical model to deduce that there is “less than one chance in 100,000 that global average temperature over the past 60 years would have been as high without human-caused greenhouse gas emissions” warming the climate.

Well, that’s strange, considering that there was a global dip in temps running from the 40’s through the late 70’s, leading to hysteria about a coming ice age. And since there has been an almost 18 year pause. And…oh, why bother with facts and science and stuff. Climate change is about a religious like fervor.

Justice Dept Decides Guilt By Association Is Awesome, To Probe Ferguson PD

Meanwhile, we’re still waiting for an investigation into the IRS scandal, among others

(Washington Post) Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. this week will launch a broad civil rights investigation into the Ferguson, Mo., Police Department, according to two federal law enforcement officials.

The investigation, which could be announced as early as Thursday afternoon, will be conducted by the Justice Department’s civil rights division and follow a process similar to that used to investigate complaints of profiling and the use of excessive force in other police departments across the country, the officials said. (snip)

Holder’s decision will represent the Obama administration’s most aggressive step to address the Ferguson shooting, which set off days of often-violent clashes between police and demonstrators in the streets of the St. Louis suburb.

The federal officials said the probe will look not only at Ferguson but also at other police departments in St. Louis County. Some, like Ferguson, are predominantly white departments serving majority-African-American communities, and at least one department invited the Justice Department to look at its practices. The officials spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the pending inquiry.

They’re on a fishing expedition. Of course, we shouldn’t be surprised by this apparent “guilt by association” and “guilty till proven innocent” approach

The number of police department reviews the Justice Department has initiated under Holder for possible constitutional violations is twice that of any of his predecessors. At least 34 other departments are under investigation for alleged civil rights violations.

Certainly, some of those departments may just be guilty. However, once the Civil Rights office at the DOJ gets involved, they will find guilt, much like the inquisitors during the Spanish Inquisition. Here’s the perfect comment at the article webpage

A complete investigation of every member of the police force needs to occur….. I’m sure it’s already begun.

We need to see affiliations, Facebook links and contacts.

Let’s find out how many white peace officers are reading right wing narratives and / or members of the klu – klutz- klan.

Anyone else see the problems with that? Guilt by association. Privacy violation. And so much more.

ISIS Wannabe Don Morgan: I’m Not Radical, Just A Good Practicing Muslim

Have you heard the story of Don Morgan? He’s a guy from Salisbury, NC, who converted to Islam and then tried to join ISIS. He was in Lebanon for awhile, after being stopped in Turkey as he attempted to get into Syria, continued to write to ISIS and their leader, but, eventually ran out of money and returned to the US, where he was arrested at JFK on weapons charges. Well, NBC News interviewed him while he was in Lebanon, and runs a short expose on him. He makes some interesting statements

The factors that drove Morgan to embrace the ideology of the terror group responsible for beheading two American journalists and killing thousands in Syria and Iraq appear to be rooted in more than faith, based on the extensive conversation with Morgan himself and some of those who know him. Personal disappointments and desires and exposure to increasingly radical social media also contributed to Morgan’s actions.

Most crucial in Morgan’s case may have been the order and discipline that he says he found in practicing Islam –and in ISIS’s interpretation of the Muslim faith and its determination to spread it in the form of a caliphate.

“My reason for the support of ISIS is because they’ve proven time and time again to put Islamic law as the priority and the establishment of an Islamic state as the goal,” Morgan told NBC News.

…..

But Morgan does not view himself as a terrorist. “I would not classify myself as a radical, but by western definition I would be classified as a radical,” he said. “I just consider myself to be a practicing Muslim.”

There are three issues surrounding Islam. First, you have the violent Islamists. These are groups like ISIS, Hezbollah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, al Qaeda, and others, along with those single players who perform, or attempt to perform, acts of violence in the name of Allah.

The second, and in my opinion, more insidious and dangerous, are those who use non-violent means to insinuate Islam into culture, society, and government around the world, particularly here in the Western world. The use our laws, our constitutions and charters, our way of life, our rules, our norms, etc, against us. They stress multiculturalism and diversity, proclaim anything that exposes them and stops them as “Islamaphobia”, using the stances of Useful Idiots (liberals) to slowly take over, and too many Useful Idiots follow right along. This is how there are areas in the Western world where Muslims practice Sharia law rather than the law of the country. This is how citizens can be prosecuted for things like blasphemy against Allah, and prosecuted for daring to write a piece that is critical of Islam. This is why we are seeing more honor killings. “Radical” Islam is being taught in the mosques, madrassas, and Islamic centers. The United Nations has considered anti-blasphemy laws, which would only apply when someone insults Islam.

Some Islamic leaders push the more violent version while others push the “let’s take over softly” version. And this is where the 3rd leg of danger arrives: what of these “moderate Muslims”? What is in their minds? What do they believe? I know quite a few practicing Muslims. Very nice people. There are many who live in my area. But, there is always this little thought in the back of my mind of “what do they really think?” and “what are they being taught?” This is how we end up with Muslims like Don Morgan, who wanted to be a Mujahedin and join ISIS but just thinks of himself as a normal Muslim.

Cool Summers Don’t Invalidate Hotcoldwetdry, Cause Complexity Or Something

As dogmatic as the Westboro Baptist Church or any other cult

(Boston Globe) LABOR DAY has come and gone. Autumn looms. But how can summer be over when it never really began?

If you feel cheated — where were the scorchers and leaden humid nights? — it’s not your imagination. July and August really did feel more like an extension of spring than a separate season. The Boston area had but four days over 90 degrees; usually it has 10. Average temperatures for the summer were well below normal too. This, of course, followed on the heels of a cold and snowy winter that felt like it would never end. And, to top it off, the Farmers’ Almanac predicts that the winter to come will be even worse than last.

Admit it. In some fashion, you’ve probably given voice to the thought. If climate change is real — if the world is supposedly heating up — then how come last winter was so long and our summer so cool? It’s because our perspective is skewed. We’re like a guy with his head in the refrigerator while his house is burning down, thinking nothing’s wrong. In fact, climate change proceeds apace. Our cool summer offers proof.

The world continues to get warmer. Of that, there is no doubt. The United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change just released drafts of its most recent assessment (the final version should be issued in October), and the news is grim. “Each of the past three decades has been successively warmer at the earth’s surface than all the previous decades in the instrumental record, and the first decade of the 21st century has been the warmest,” it notes. Indeed, despite New England’s experience, 2013 was, worldwide, the hottest year on record, and 2014 may be hotter still. And the impacts of that rise are now being observed everywhere. The oceans are warmer. Ice sheets in Greenland, the Antarctic, and Arctic are getting smaller. Glaciers are retreating. The acidity of the oceans (caused by the absorption of carbon dioxide) has gone up 30 percent since the mid-1800s. Sea levels are rising too — 6.7 inches in the last 100 years. Extreme weather events are on the rise.

Strange, because there has been statistically insignificant warming for almost 18 years, despite the dire predictions and computer models from Warmists.

So why did we have such a cold winter and cool summer? It all has to do with the polar vortex. That’s the age-old weather phenomenon that we all learned about last year. The vortexes (there are two, north and south) are like slow-moving cyclones high in the atmosphere that circle the poles. They’re cold, not surprisingly, because the poles are cold. But, in the case of the Arctic, the impacts from the vortex to the lower levels of the atmosphere usually stay close to the pole because warmer air in the continental United States, acting as a front, keeps them there. But — thanks to global climate change — the Arctic is actually warming up faster than the rest of the world. (The reason is that ice reflects the sun, while water absorbs it. As Arctic ice is melting, there is now more sea water to absorb the sun’s energy.) That makes the difference in temperatures between the continent and the Arctic less, and so now the colder air on occasion swoops lower. Thus, the seeming contradiction: Our cold weather proves global warming.

The fact that such contradictions exist underscores the complexity of figuring out global climate change. It’s that same complexity that gives rise to those who would deny it. They’ll point to anomalous events such as a cool summer. They’ll wonder how we can know what temperatures will be like 40 years from now when the best of forecasters can’t tell for certain whether tomorrow will rain or shine. And they’ll dispute the models themselves, filled with uncertainty and assumptions.

And, apparently, it’s not possible to refute what we’re seeing, according to the Disciple Of Gore, Tom Keene. You know, things like no warming in almost 18 years, below average hurricane and tornado seasons, no increase in flooding or droughts, etc. Because climate is complex, so, obviously, it is Mankind’s fault for every change.
