(Breitbart) The UN has never met a problem it couldn’t tackle without calling for a new tax. Over-dependence on fossil fuel? There’s a tax for that. Inequitable distribution of global wealth? There’s a tax for that. Climbing obesity rates due to our fondness for junk food? There’s tax for that, too.
Now the UN has decided such piecemeal slugs aren’t enough to underwrite its grand plans to save the world from itself. So hide your wallet. The UN wants all you’ve got and then some.
A new report released Wednesday proposes a sweeping new raft of international taxes that could net the UN and its mendicant agencies an estimated US$13 billion annually and enable it to do what it thinks it does best: telling the rest of us how to live our lives.
The UN Environment Programme (UNEP), which commissioned the study, says innovative revenue streams underline the call to seal an ambitious climate change deal in Paris later this year.
Funny how UN Warmists want to dramatically increase taxation while they themselves run around the world using vast amounts of fossil fuels, eh? It’s also interesting how the “solutions” dovetail nicely into far left solutions for everything else.

Islamic State have released their most boring and uninspiring propaganda photos on social media today, revealing gardening as one of the little known past time shared by their supporters.
The dull photos appear to be an attempt by the brutal extremist group to show an interest in the environment and other calmer activities.
The images were taken in the Iraqi province of Nineveh, home to some of the most fertile earth in the Middle East. (snip)
It appears that when they are not fighting the Kurds or dodging coalition airstrikes, residents in Islamic State enjoy pottering around their garden.

Eight dead bodies hang from a metal frame in the Iraq’s Kirkuk province in Islamic State’s latest public display of barbarity.
The gruesome images which emerged on social media show the men’s limp bodies suspended from their feet off a tall structure in the town of Hawija.
The notorious black flag used by Islamist groups like ISIS is displayed above them as horrified onlookers inspect the scene.
Speaking of that black flag, ISIS is also selling its own line of clothing for kids and babies, as well as for adults
From babywear to wedding rings, ISIS supporters have been showing off their appalling taste in fashion on social media.
Most ISIS merchandises appear to be cheaply made and poor quality, always adorned with the ISIS badge.
The uninspiring fashion pieces have been seen being worn by fighters, mothers and babies living in ISIS territory in Syria and Iraq.

One of the big pulls this morning at Memeorandum is about UC Irvine, a government funded institution of higher learning, banning all flags, including the American flag
(Campus Reform) The Associated Students of University of California, Irvine (ASUCI) voted Tuesday to remove all flags, including American flags, from an inclusive space on campus because of their offensive nature.
The bill, R50-70, was authored by Social Ecology Representative Matthew Guevara, and accuses all flags, especially, the American flag, of being “symbols of patriotism or weapons for nationalism.â€
“[F]lags construct paradigms of conformity and sets [sic] homogenized standards for others to obtain which in this country typically are idolized as freedom, equality, and democracy,†the bill reads.
The legislation argues that flags may be interpreted differently; the American flag, for example, can represent “American exceptionalism and superiority,†as well as oppression.
Darleen Click notes that this is cool, “as long as the “students†forgo all American taxpayer money …”. Banning the American flag, along with hating it and America, is the kind of thing that students are learning, yet, they still take advantage of all that benefits that American offers.
There’s a part that is, in my opinion, even more important
“[F]reedom of speech, in a space that aims to be as inclusive as possible[,] can be interpreted as hate speech,†the bill reads.
“Let it be resolved that ASUCI make every effort to make the Associated Students main lobby space as inclusive as possible.â€
Read that first paragraph in the excerpt again.

This is the codification of restrictions to freedom of speech. This directly violates Article I, Section 2(a) of the California constitution.
“Let it be further be resolved that if a decorative item is in the Associate student lobby space and issues arise, the solution will be to remove the item if there is considerable request to do so.â€
Ah. A loophole. What if a student complains about something that these extreme far left Progressives like, such as LGBT art, something pornographic, supports Islamic extremism, or is anti-Semitic? Will they say “sorry, there aren’t enough requests”?
Do not think that Progressives nationwide do not want to do the same. They love Free Speech, as long as it is the correct Free Speech.

(HuffPost) Russell Brand poses an intriguing question in his latest online news broadcast, musing: “ISIS vs climate change – which kills more?â€
As Brand rightly points out, stories about climate change fail to inspire the same visceral reactions as, say, coverage of terror attacks and uprisings.
But he quotes sobering figures from climate change group DARA, which estimates deaths related to global warming in 2010 amounted to 5 million. (Snip)
Climate change leading to crop failures, hunger, anger and dissent are, he says: “The perfect condition there for terrorism, for mayhem.â€
I’m not sure which is more pathetic: Biden from earlier or a “comedian” who takes lots of fossil fueled trips. But, both have definitely drank massive amounts of grape Kool Aid.

During an interview on CBS’ “Early Show” on Wednesday, Biden told viewers to check out a government-run Web site tracking stimulus spending, but admitted he was embarrassed because he couldn’t remember the site’s “number.”
“You know, I’m embarrassed. Do you know the Web site number?” he asked an aide standing out of view. “I should have it in front of me and I don’t. I’m actually embarrassed.”
Biden, who seemed to indicate that he thought the Internet worked like a giant telephone, sounded an unusually Luddite note inside an administration often heralded for its mastery of the Web.
Yeah, that’s the guy you should listen to on “climate change”
(HuffPost) Vice President Joe Biden took a strong stance against climate change deniers in an interview with VICE founder Shane Smith.
The interview is part of VICE’s documentary series, which airs on HBO and is premiering its third season on Friday. The first episode, titled “Our Rising Oceans,” will focus on sea level rise.
“It gets to the point where you can’t look anyone in the eye seriously and say, well, it’s nothing having to do with manmade,” he said.
Reacting to members of Congress who deny climate change is real, Biden said, “It’s almost like denying gravity now… the willing suspension of disbelief can only be sustained for so long.”
This from a guy who takes fossil fueled flights all around the country and world, and who’s boss has the largest carbon footprint in the world.
Let’s be clear: climate change is real. The debate is on causation. But, hey, if Joe is so concerned, then why does he want all this road construction to occur, which allows fossil fueled vehicles to travel the country?

Well, it’s about time that someone in the U.S. media has taken a big notice of the threat from ISIS, and extremist Islam, towards the gay population, as Arwa Damon and Zeynep Bilginsoy note in their article (which includes disturbing video on autoplay)
Amid brazen, deadly attacks, gay Syrians tell of fear of ISIS persecution
One quibble: they aren’t so much attacks, as planned executions in public.
The photographs released by ISIS in its stronghold of Raqqa are dated March 2015. The first ones show a large crowd, mostly men, but also among them a handful of women and children, all looking up.
Three men on top of a building, faces covered in black balaclavas, stand on either side of their victim, while a fourth seems to be taking a photo or video.
Their victim is thrown off the building. In the last photograph, he is seen face down, surrounded by a small crowd of men, most carrying weapons, some with rocks in their hands. The caption reads “stoned to death.”
The victim brutally killed because he was accused of being gay.
There are at least half a dozen documented cases of men being similarly killed by ISIS. What’s even more sickening for Nour, a gay Syrian man, is the onlookers’ reaction.
The onlookers cheered, and looked happy.
Nour (a pseudo-name used for the article due to fear over reprisal) left Syria in 2012, before ISIS took over huge swaths of the country, after seeing a video of two men being beheaded. According to the voice on the clip, they are accused of being spies. Then toward the end, the voice speaks about “shaking the throne of God.”
“Whenever we hear this in video or audio, we know that this is exactly meant for gay people,” he says. “It was the moment of clarity, the moment of understanding; this place is not safe anymore.”
The pictures released by ISIS and other videos refer to gay men as the tribe of Lot, who, according to readings of the Quran and the hadith, or prophetic traditions, sinned by refusing Prophet Lot’s call to cease their homosexual activity and led to the destruction of Sodom. One hadith states, “When a man mounts another man, the throne of God shakes.”
Perhaps this kind of information will wake up those on the left who like to significantly downplay the threat from ISIS and hardcore Islam. Sadly, I expect little more from most Progressives than deflections, distractions, and strawmen (DDS). It’s like kneejerk reaction from them. Gays and women are treated horribly within hardcore Islam, yet this just can’t get Progressives to acknowledge the threat. Hardcore Islam is a threat to the entire way of life for Progressives and their beliefs, yet, little can move them to acknowledge the threat.
Now, the article itself, which should be read in full, deals exclusively with the plight of gays in Syria. But, they are certainly in danger everywhere hardcore Islam reigns. What will it take to get Progressives to join in on wanting to fight ISIS and hardcore Islam?

Should Climate Change Stop Us from Having Babies?
If you’re like me, climate change keeps you up at night on a regular basis. It’s not so much that we’re still on track for the worst-case global warming scenario, or that the survival of countless species—not to mention civilization as we know it—hangs in the balance, but the quiet understanding that our kids are going to feel some of the worst impacts in just a few brief decades.
I sleep very well. There are enough real world things to become anxious and neurotic over, instead of “climate change”.
In the last few weeks alone, Boston has been buried under record amounts of snow, an endless winter hell that’s been linked to warmer-than-normal water temperatures in the Gulf Stream. Meanwhile, California is shriveling up, amid predictions of imminent mega-droughts across the western US. It’s hard to predict how climate change will affect us next, but clearly it won’t be good. Already, scientists are telling us to say goodbye to Miami and Manhattan, not to mention chocolate, coffee, and beer.
There we go, the Cult Of Climastrology’s notion that hot causes massive cold and snow.
For natural pessimists, the inexorable destruction by climate change leads to thoughts that fall along the lines of this Jezebel headline, which asks: “Â Why Would I Ever Want to Bring a Child Into This Fucked Up World?” Because really, why the hell would someone of procreating age today even consider having a baby? It feels like an utter tragedy to create new life, fall in love with it, and then watch it writhe in agony as the world singes to a crisp.
Ah, but the reality is that Climastrologers say that people shouldn’t have children because kids have a massive “carbon footprint”. Of course, most Warmists push this notion for those in 3rd World nations, particularly Africa, saying those folks shouldn’t have kids. Seems rather racist, eh? But, then, most Warmists are also disciples of Margaret Sanger, a big time racist and eugenicist.
By making global warming a science issue, campaigners against climate change lost the majority of the public’s interest in the topic, even though the stakes have never been higher.
Wait, you mean it actually wasn’t a “science issue” originally? Cat. Bag.
My wife and I just had a baby, and it’s quickly becoming the best decision we ever made. Even though his future is uncertain, the knowledge that there’s still time left to turn things around has become a tremendously powerful motivating factor in our lives. Our baby has brought us back from the brink. It’s impossible to be hopeless with a newborn. Climate change has changed me. And I don’t think I’m the only one.
And there we go. A new baby, sucking up the valuable resources of Gaia, dooming us all to climate hell. Climahyopcrite.
Anyhow, congratulations to Eric and his wife. Please do not make your child neurotic with climate change insanity. And, since babies are, according to your cult, bad for climate change, so have less, it’s time for that vasectomy.

(Yahoo News) Change starts with our bills.
A feminist group wants to remove the image of Andrew Jackson from the $20 bill and replace it with a picture of one of the many illustrious women from American history.
The nonprofit Women On 20s thinks the centennial of women’s suffrage, 2020, would be the perfect opportunity to add women, such as civil rights activist Rosa Parks or former first lady Eleanor Roosevelt, to the pantheon of American heroes on our currency.
Interesting notion. As someone on Fox and Friends noted this morning, why not create a new $25 bill instead, and put a woman on it?
Last month, Women On 20s introduced 15 female candidates to replace the 19th-century statesman: Alice Paul, Betty Friedan, Shirley Chisholm, Sojourner Truth, Rachel Carson, Rosa Parks, Barbara Jordan, Margaret Sanger, Patsy Mink, Clara Barton, Harriet Tubman, Frances Perkins, Susan B. Anthony, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Elizabeth Cady Stanton.
Voting began on March 1 to coincide with Women’s History Month.
After garnering at least 100,000 votes, the nonprofit intends to introduce its proposal to the White House in hopes that President Obama will take executive action.
Interesting selection. Some of the women are certainly deserving. Others, not so much. Rachel Carson? She wrote a fear mongering book based on feelings, not science, which has directly led to the deaths of millions, particularly Black people in Africa, through her insanity over DDT.
Margaret Sanger? An unabashed eugenicist and racist, who ushered in the big time business of abortion on demand, and very much wanted to limit the births of babies to Black people.
How about Janis Joplin? Or Pat Benatar? Grace Slick? Aretha Franklin? Patsy Cline? Some of the most important women in American music.
How about Molly Pitcher? Or Sacajawea. Dorothea Dix. Lucy Stone. Elizabeth Blackwell. Mary Bliss Parsons. Katherine Hepburn.
On the list, which you can vote on, I’d go for Clara Barton or Susan B. Anthony.
