UN Demands Global Taxes For Hotcoldwetdry

Um, surprise?

(Breitbart) The UN has never met a problem it couldn’t tackle without calling for a new tax. Over-dependence on fossil fuel? There’s a tax for that. Inequitable distribution of global wealth? There’s a tax for that. Climbing obesity rates due to our fondness for junk food? There’s tax for that, too.

Now the UN has decided such piecemeal slugs aren’t enough to underwrite its grand plans to save the world from itself. So hide your wallet. The UN wants all you’ve got and then some.

A new report released Wednesday proposes a sweeping new raft of international taxes that could net the UN and its mendicant agencies an estimated US$13 billion annually and enable it to do what it thinks it does best: telling the rest of us how to live our lives.

The UN Environment Programme (UNEP), which commissioned the study, says innovative revenue streams underline the call to seal an ambitious climate change deal in Paris later this year.

Funny how UN Warmists want to dramatically increase taxation while they themselves run around the world using vast amounts of fossil fuels, eh? It’s also interesting how the “solutions” dovetail nicely into far left solutions for everything else.

Isn’t it obvious why liberal solutions seem designed to satisfy liberal ideals, lol? Progressivism is right. Freedom for all, equality, no domination of workers by the political donor class – all that stuff.

Why is every conservative solution designed to restrict the rights and welfare of an “out” group (Blacks, gays, Mexicans, women, Muslims, non-Christians…)?

Hating the “other”, and blow-jobs for the wealthy and powerful is all one needs to know to understand the far-right. And fear. Constant, bed-wetting fear.

  2. John says:

Teach why nothing about the 50th anniversary of Selma? Perhaps a bit ashamed of how conservatives acted?
Cons have notably been on the wrong side of too many things in the past

  3. gitarcarver says:

Freedom for all, equality, no domination of workers by the political donor class – all that stuff.

All the stuff that liberals and progressives hate.

In their mind, “freedom” means doing what they demand you do.

Why is every conservative solution designed to restrict the rights and welfare of an “out” group

Why do liberals lie and create strawmen?

You’ll have to excuse Jeffery folks. It’s the weekend and he is drinking more than normal.

  4. gitarcarver says:

Teach why nothing about the 50th anniversary of Selma?

john, where is your blog post on Selma?

Is your idea of the “freedom” you and Jeffery espouse telling other people what to write now? You don’t have the guys to sit there and spend the time, money and resources to put up a blog and yet somehow you think you can tell Teach or anyone what they should write?

Conservatives were more on the side of equal rights than liberals in the past and in the present john.

Try learning history a little bit sometime, you bigoted, ignorant troll.

    “Innovative revenue streams” my a$$

Here’s an historical image of a politician during the civil rights movement.

  7. Jeffery says:

I don’t tell Teach what to write, I just beseech him to tell the truth.

J-“And the fear. The constant bed-wetting fear.” Next to the word “projection”, and “irony” in the dictionary you’ll see a picture of Jeffery. As said before, no one promotes constant bed-wetting fear more than the alarmists.(the earth is going to die!) J- that sound you just heard? That was the point going right over your head. “Progressivism is for freedom and equality for all.” Please. Political correctness- you can’t say this, you can’t say that. Campus speech codes- same thing. A restriction on freedom of speech. Moonbats in I think it was Irvine, California yesterday made students take down the American flag because it might be “offending” someone. Numerous examples abound. That’s not freedom, J, that’s the opposite. “Equality”- Bullshit. Progressives aren’t for equality- if they were Affirmative Action would be out the window. What they’re for is equality of outcome, not equal opportunity.

  9. Teach why nothing about the 50th anniversary of Selma? Perhaps a bit ashamed of how conservatives acted?

As GC wrote, John, where’s your blog post on the subject? Ashamed that these were Democrats who acted in that manner? No matter your spin, this was Democrats.

You know that I rarely take requests. And I rarely respond to deflections. I thought really hard about taking Eric Holder up on his challenge regarding not being a coward when it comes to talking about race.

Then I thought “no matter what I write, it will be ignored in favor of raaaaacism and personal attacks.”

That said, let’s consider that Selma is a majority-minority city, run mostly by Blacks on the city council with a Black mayor. The population is 79% black. The property values are well below both Alabama and US averages. The average yearly wages are half of the Alabama average, which is already well below national average. Crime is well above the national average, and Selma is a very dangerous place. There’s a one in 12 chance of being a victim of property crime. The majority of crimes and criminals are Black, and most crime in Selma is what is known as “black in origin”, meaning Black on Black.

The schools are mostly Black. The majority of students get government funded meals. The graduation rate and testing rates are pitiful. With mostly Black teachers.

Selma is one of the worst cities to do business in Alabama. Social capital is low.

I could go on and on. I won’t. What is the cause? Good question. Is it liberal policies in a very liberal city? Or is this due to Black policies, like we see in Detroit, Birmingham, Memphis, Baltimore, and all the other majority-minority cities?

Of course, liberals will blame Conservatives and Republicans, and whites, despite none of them actually running the cities.

  10. John says:

GC are you trying to say that Bull Connor was a liberal?
That civil rights for blacks were championed by the rig
Gut ? What next? The kkk were liberals ?
I am in my mid 60s. Your view of history is absurd

  11. John says:

Wow Teach I can see why you say the views expressed here are not those of your employer
Stuff like that could have 1/2 the people in Charlotte pissed off at you
Many people no longer attribute as much as you do to the color of a city’s skin
Or at least not as openly

  12. Jeffery says:

    j,

You’re the ones terrified by your own shadows. You carry guns to defend yourselves against Muslim, Mexican and Black men, but are more likely to shoot yourselves or innocents nearby than an assailant.

You lobby to send other brave men and women to Iraq and Syria to fight the bad guys so you won’t feel so afraid.

Conservatives fear death so much that they’ve invented an imaginary land for everlasting life.

Conservatives fear the universe so much that they refuse to acknowledge the reality around them.

  13. John says:

For you Teach it is a black and white world
    Atlanta is also minority majority
Sounds like you are about ready to move to one of those white supremiscist Utopias in Idaho

  14. John says:

And it would be 5 more years before those liberal activit Supremes woul declare unconstitutional laws prohibiting racially mixed marriages
Probably GC thinks it was Conservatives pushing that change along

  15. Jeffery says:

Of course, liberals will blame Conservatives and Republicans, and whites, despite none of them actually running the cities.

Do you also blame the failure of red states on the Negroes there, or on the Republican who control the statehouses? Every red state is majority Caucasian and are controlled by white Conservatives and yet are at the bottom of most economic measures. The poverty rate is worse in red states too.

What’s the cause of the woeful performance in red states? Conservative policies? White policies in white states?

Of course, conservatives will blame liberals and Democrats, and Blacks, despite none of them actually running the states.

  16. Jeffery says:

Forgot to add that conservative Caucasian control of red states has been absolute since the beginnings of the US. In contrast, our Black citizens couldn’t even freely vote until after 1965 and until June 2013. Conservative Caucasian Republicans at the national, and especially at the red state level, are attempting and often succeeding in instituting voter suppression policies. They are gerrymandering Democratic representatives out of existence.

Is it that surprising that American Blacks congregated in northern cities rather than risking being lynched, risking their wives and daughters being raped, risking being killed by white cops answering only to white conservatives in the south?

Is it really that surprising that a people oppressed from the time they were brought to the US in chains, and discriminated against even today, haven’t kept up with the dominating whites?

Why do you Caucasian Conservatives Citizens think that their is more poverty, crime, unemployment and less investment, infrastructure support and poverty in predominantly Black cities?

  17. Exactly the responses I expected from John and Jeff.

  18. david7134 says:

    Jeff,
Why do you constantly lie? Is your cause so weak that it requires some make believe world for you to live in. The current red states that have poor economies were solid blue. They voted along Democrat lines until about the 80’s when things began to change. But they are only changing slowly and much of the damage was already in place. Add to that the social burdens placed on the states by the federal government and you have a mixture that is impossible for conservatives to do any more than put out fires as they pop up. I might also note that in the South, there has been slow recovery from the depredations of the War of Northern Aggression and the rape of our country.

  19. Jeffery says:

    dave,

You are precious. You are of that other class of neocon, a neo-con federate. War of Northern Aggression? How about Quelling the Southern Rebellion?

Can you name me a few LIBERAL Southern Democrats that ruined the red states? Strom Thurmond? Phil Graham, Richard Shelby?

Southern Democratic racists started abandoning the party following the 1948 Democratic platform advocating civil rights for Blacks. They found a natural home in the newly realigning Repubic Party of Goldwater, Nixon and Reagan. The Repubic Party made a conscious and deliberate decision to abandon Black citizens so as to become an electoral force in the deep South. Said Nixon political strategist Kevin Phillips in 1970:

From now on, the Republicans are never going to get more than 10 to 20 percent of the Negro vote and they don’t need any more than that…but Republicans would be shortsighted if they weakened enforcement of the Voting Rights Act. The more Negroes who register as Democrats in the South, the sooner the Negrophobe whites will quit the Democrats and become Republicans. That’s where the votes are.

So the Repubican elites were not necessarily racist, but they relied on the racism of the southern white.

The southern Repubicans have had half a century to “fix” the deep south and have failed. Conservatives have had even longer.

So the Quelling of the Southern Rebellion (this ended in the 60s – the 1860s!) still reverberates through the old confederacy, dragging down the economies? Yet, oppressing black men and women through the 1960s should have no effect on today’s blacks?

Did the War of Southern Rebellion cause Sam Brownback to ruin Kansas?

  20. drowningpuppies says:

Southern Democratic racists started abandoning the party following the 1948 Democratic platform advocating civil rights for Blacks.

Once again little Jeffery shows his leftist ignorance.

Southern voters in the main did not become Republicans until the 1990s, as shown by Southern congressional delegations, state governments, etc. In presidential elections, Southern states voted overwhelmingly for Republicans such as Nixon and Reagan, but then so did Vermont. The Southern congressional caucus was Democratic until 1994; Mississippi had one Republican governor in all the 20th century, and that not until 1994, which seems like a long time to wait to punish Democrats for partially supporting a Republican civil-rights bill in 1965.
