I mentioned California governor Jerry Brown’s silliness regarding Ted Cruz and “climate change” yesterday. Cruz fired back
(Think Progress) Responding to California Gov. Jerry Brown’s (D) remarks on Meet the Press on Sunday that Cruz was “absolutely unfit†to run for office because of his “direct falsification of the existing scientific data†on climate change, Cruz said Sunday that “global warming alarmists†like Brown “ridicule and insult anyone who actually looks at the real data.â€
Speaking on Sirius XM’s Breitbart News Sunday, Cruz said that Brown and other proponents of action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate climate change engage in “ad hominem attacks†and “don’t want to confront the data†on climate change. Cruz said that satellites are showing that warming isn’t happening, even though “apocalyptic computer models said that we would see substantial warming.â€
Sadly, Ted missed a salient point: the people, especially the leaders, in the Cult Of Climastrology are massive hypocrites within their own lives. Of course, TP deflects Ted’s point about the satellite data
About 90 percent of the warming over the last 17 years has occurred in the oceans, the impacts of which will start to be felt more acutely in the near future. Greenland’s ice melt has increased five-fold since the mid-1990s. Another recent study found that sea level is rising 60 percent faster than projected.
We’re back to “the oceans ate my warming”.

This is the soft tyranny of the Progressive Left, whom Jonah Goldberg referred to as “nice fascists”. In their world, voluntary associations that they disapprove of must be cut. And they’ll take long fossil fueled trips in order to make sure you know it
Science Museums Urged to Cut Ties With Fossil Fuel Donors
Letter from Nobel laureates and other scientists goes to 330 institutions urging them to cut ties with the industry responsible for climate misinformation.
Hundreds of museums across the country––including some of the most prestigious––are being asked by more than 30 scientists to cut their ties to the fossil fuel industry.
In a letter sent to more than 330 science and natural history centers on Tuesday, the researchers said that when “some of the biggest…funders of misinformation on climate science” give millions of dollars to science-focused museums, it acts to “undermine public confidence in the validity of the institutions.”
“Museums are feeling budgetary crunches, and these donors bring in large sums of money,” said Beka Economopoulos, co-founder and director of the Brooklyn-based Natural History Museum, a new educational organization that coordinated the letter. “Museums, even unintentionally, are unlikely to bite the hand that feeds them. There is a threat of self-censorship where the philanthropy serves to make museums more reticent to offend the donor, or certainly to critique the practices of the donor.”
The Cult of Climastrology would prefer their version of censorship. Not to be outdone, here’s what the NY Times, the “Paper of Record”, runs. Same story, different tenor
Science Museums Urged to Cut Ties With Kochs
Dozens of climate scientists and environmental groups are calling for museums of science and natural history to “cut all ties†with fossil fuel companies and philanthropists like the Koch brothers.
A letter released on Tuesday asserts that such money is tainted by these donors’ efforts to deny the overwhelming scientific consensus on climate change.
The Koch brother, long a liberal bugaboo, have a long history of donating vast sums of their own money to help other people and institutions out in a charitable manner. No one has been able to show any sort of association for a quid pro quo or “self-censorship”. Rather than being lauded for their humanitarianism and philanthropy, they are insulted and assaulted. By people who a) do not give their own money to help out and b) refuse to give up their own use of fossil fuels.

Anyone surprised? Warmists, like the rest of their fascistic Progressive brethren, like to shut down those they disagree with.

Steven has more on this at his site. And the Daily Caller has chimed in
Ironically, Goddard said the last tweet he sent out before having his account suspended was “After taking power, progressives changed their motto from ‘always question authority’ to ‘it is illegal to question authority.’â€

Twitter is a private company and they can do as they wish. Of course, trying to get an Islamic jihadi kicked off is very, very hard. But not a Skeptic. Liberals can’t take debate.

The Cult Of Climastrology at its finest
Weird weather discussed at Delaware Valley College
Last Friday’s snowfall could be a harbinger of climate change.

“It’s weird to have 6 inches of snow on the first day of spring,†Michelle Grossman, a meteorologist at NBC10, told about 80 people at an informal talk on “Climate Change and (Weird) Weather†on Sunday at Delaware Valley College in Doylestown Township.
While spring snows have happened before, they could become more frequent in the future as climate change upends traditional weather patterns, according to Grossman, a Penn State graduate who has been forecasting at the Philadelphia TV station since 2008.
It’s weird to blame cold and snow on warmth.
Anyhow, it’s happened before, but, somehow, a warming world will create more cold and snow in the spring? Cult.

This will make the Establishment GOP very upset. After several days of hearing that Cruz was planning on making a big announcement Monday, he made that announcement
(Politico) The 2016 election officially began with a tweet.
Shortly after midnight on Monday morning, Ted Cruz confirmed on Twitter that he will run for president, making him the first official candidate of the 2016 race and kicking off a season of campaign launches, with several other candidates expected to jump in in coming weeks.
“I’m running for President and I hope to earn your support!†the tweet read, with a link to a slickly-produced 30-second campaign video.
“It’s a time for truth,†Cruz says in the clip, which is paid for by “Cruz for President.†“A time to rise to the challenge, just as Americans have always done. I believe in America and her people, and I believe we can stand up and restore our promise. It’s going to take a new generation of courageous conservatives to help make America great again. And I’m ready to stand with you to lead the fight.â€

— Ted Cruz (@tedcruz) March 23, 2015
The full announcement is scheduled for 10am at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. His campaign website, TedCruz.org, is already live, and includes the tag line “reigniting the promise of America.”
Cruz also relishes his reputation as an uncompromising conservative — in his campaign launch video, he refers to himself as a “courageous conservative.†In his view, the GOP has lost the last two presidential elections because the party has nominated candidates who are too moderate.
“If we nominate another candidate in that same mold, the same voters who stayed home in 2008 and 2012 will stay home in 2016, and Hillary Clinton is the next president,†he told POLITICO in December, after Jeb Bush announced he was considering a presidential bid.
Mitt Romney was a great choice, IMO, in 2012 to deal with the economy. Unfortunately, his was entirely too squishy for many Conservatives, especially social Conservatives. Expect big opposition from Establishment Republicans. I already see a few, who shall remain unnamed, trashing Cruz, and, in essence, Conservatism. They apparently want another squish, someone who is pretty much Democrat Lite, like Jeb Bush.
While being more of a fiscal conservative than a social conservative, he will appeal to those same socials, and one needs to appeal to the Conservative base during the primaries, especially early on. One also needs to be a great speaker with great ideas, both of which are Cruz allies.
