Failing To Act On Hotcoldwetdry Is A Complete Moral Failure Or Something

Let’s start off with noting that when people fail to live by the rules they want Everyone Else to live be, that’s a moral failure. An inexcusable one

Failing to act on climate change is an inexcusable moral failure

The responses of coal country business leaders and politicians to the Clean Power Plan recently announced by President Barack Obama and the Environmental Protection Agency demonstrate that there are no limits to their willingness to pursue coal industry profits without regard for the harmful consequences of their decisions and actions.

The coal industry has a long history of such irresponsible behavior. That’s why West Virginia has biologically degraded streams from perpetual acid mine drainage, fish that can’t be eaten because of too much mercury in their flesh, unstable toxic sludge impoundments looming over communities, and ecologically vital headwater streams buried under massive piles of rubble. It’s also why coal miners experience agonizing deaths from black lung disease, coalfield residents suffer elevated risks of contracting numerous chronic or lethal diseases, and miners are stripped of their hard-won pensions and health benefits.

Now, see, those are actual real world issues. Those are reasons why I am against coal, and want to see it’s usage replaced. I’ve noted time and time again that the Cult of Climastrology hijacks these real world issues and puts them under the banner of ‘climate change’.

Yet in opposing the Clean Power Plan, these business leaders and politicians are rising to unprecedented levels of cynicism and recklessness. While they have long shown a willingness to turn regions of the world into virtual sacrifice zones, their new message is that they don’t mind doing the same thing to the entire planet. The coal industry is a primary contributor to the increase in greenhouse gases that is destabilizing our global climate and global ecosystems. We are already experiencing impacts from this destabilization, such as more violent and extreme storms, floods, wildfires and droughts. If we continue on our present course, the best evidence indicates that the impacts from climate change will shift from severe to catastrophic. So in opposing the Clean Power Plan, the message from these business leaders and politicians is that they don’t mind inflicting significant harm on every single person on the planet to protect industry profits. Not only that, but they don’t care if continuing to burn fossil fuels for energy degrades the planet for every human that will live on Earth in the future and places the very survival of future generations at risk.

See? There we go. Idiots. When will Jim Waggy at the Charleston Gazette-Mail give up his own big carbon footprint?

Easier than rewriting all the time. Also, the listing order has to do with how they are added over time, not how good a post is. I just copy and paste from the previous week, then edit. If you see one of the *’s, go ahead and check out the blog anyhow, see if there is an update. I cannot update with my Android during the day.

DNC Writes Slobbering Letter To Obama, Supporting His Iran Deal

They had to write a letter of support because Debbie Wasserman-Schultz blocked a formal resolution

(Washington Post) Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz prevented consideration of a resolution at the party’s summer meeting here that praised President Obama and offered backing for the nuclear agreement with Iran, according to knowledgeable Democrats.

The resolution was drafted with the intention of putting the national committee on record in support of the agreement as Congress prepares to take up the issue when members return from their August recess.

As a fallback, James Zogby, the co-chair of the Resolutions Committee, led a move to prepare a letter of support for the president and the Iran agreement that eventually gained signatures from a sizable majority of the members of the national committee. Zogby said Saturday that, in the end, this produced a satisfactory outcome.

Blocking the resolution has made Democrats Very Mad at DWS, who did not say why she blocked it. There’s some thought that this was due to DWS representing a heavily Jewish district. Hey, maybe DWS did something smart, and realized that it is a Bad Idea for Dems to formally approve of the deal, which has almost no Republican support, and would leave Dems on the hook for the sure to follow bad outcomes.

Here’s the letter, via the Huffington Post, signed by over 160 Democratic delegates and members of the DNC

A Special Letter to the President from members of the Democratic National Committee.

We strongly support the courageous leadership you have demonstrated in choosing diplomacy and negotiations over conflict. We believe that the completion of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action negotiated between P5+1 (the Permanent Members of the United Nations Security Council and Germany) and Iran to place strict limits on Iran’s nuclear program is an important victory for diplomacy. We recognize that there are some who in good faith have expressed reservations with elements of the JCPOA but we believe that you and key members of your Administration have effectively and respectfully responded to these concerns. We, therefore, join you in supporting the JCPOA as the best way forward to secure our nation, our allies, and world peace.

Signed

A Pack Of Naive Boobs

Now, this is where my interest was peaked, in that the letter notes that the deal “places strict limits on Iran’s nuclear program”. Limits. Not stops it. Not demolishes it. Not “removes all possibility that Iran will get nuclear weapons through its own programs”. Just “strict limits”. And it doesn’t even acknowledge that those strict limits will only last 8-10 years, with them going away in 15.

Nor does it acknowledge all the money Iran will gain to fund its weapons and terrorism programs. Nor all the loopholes. Nor that the “snap inspections” are anything but. That Iran is going to inspect its own military nuclear facility. That US inspectors may be blocked by Iran. That the deal will make the Middle East even more un-safe. That Iran will continue to build intercontinental ballistic missiles. And that Iran has already stated that it will ignore certain parts of the deal. That sanctions will never, ever snap-back in reality. And so many other issues.

Democrats will own this failure.

Obama Expects US-ISRAEL Relations To Get Better Because Of Th3 Iran Deal

Well, on one hand, he’s right: if a Republican wins, they will toast the deal and make our relations better, which won’t be that hard after Obama has destroyed that relationship

(AP) President Barack Obama on Friday compared tensions between the U.S. and Israel over the Iranian nuclear deal to a family feud and said he expects quick improvements in ties between the longtime allies once the accord is implemented.

“Like all families, sometimes there are going to be disagreements,” Obama said in a webcast with Jewish Americans. “And sometimes people get angrier about disagreements in families than with folks that aren’t family.”

Yeah, it’s just like that. If one family member is making a deal with an outside party that wants to kill the other family member.

The president encouraged skeptics of the agreement to “overcome the emotions” that have infused the debate and evaluate the accord based on facts.

“I would suggest that in terms of the tone of this debate everybody keep in mind that we’re all pro-Israel,” he said. “We have to make sure that we don’t impugn people’s motives.”

This is the same guy who’s said it’s either this agreement or war, deeming those same skeptics warmongers. He’s claimed that those who are against this deal are making “common cause” with the Iranian regime. Pot. Kettle.

Oops, that pot kettle thing is probably raaaaacist.

Cult Of Climastrology Predicts 2015 To Be Hottest Year Ever!

Yet, this still wouldn’t prove anthropogenic causation, just a Holocene warm period

Climate change: 2015 will be the hottest year on record ‘by a mile’, experts say

Climate scientists are predicting that 2015 will be the hottest year on record “by a mile”, with the increase in worldwide average temperatures dramatically undermining the idea that global warming has stopped – as some climate-change sceptics claim.

Even though there are still several months left in the year to gather temperature readings from around the world, climate researchers believe nothing short of a Krakatoa-sized volcanic eruption that cuts out sunlight for months on end can now stop last year’s record being beaten.

It is rare for climate experts to make such a bold prediction so soon in the year, but they believe that a surge in ocean temperatures in particular now makes it almost inevitable that 2015 will turn out to be the hottest year globally since instruments were first used to gather readings more than 130 years ago.

There’s nothing wrong with making predictions: many are predicting yet another brutal winter for the US, Europe, and the Northern Hemisphere. Of course, when those who control the actual data are making predictions, you know they are going to come true. And there’s a reason for that

The average temperature increase will be so much higher than the previous record, set in 2014, that it should melt away any remaining arguments about the so-called “pause” in global warming, which many climate sceptics have promoted as an argument against action on climate change.

They’ve trotted out over 70 excuses for the Pause, now they’ll try to “massage” the data to prove it isn’t happening. But, it still wouldn’t prove anthropogenic causation, unless you count falsifying data to be anthropogenic.

They expect it to be 0.1C above average, since they failed to get anyone to care when they were yammering about 0.01 and 0.02C increases. So, we already know the number that will be produced sometime in January. And expect lots of data to be released right before the Paris ‘climate change” meeting.

FBI “A Team” Involved In Clinton Email Server Probe

If Hillary Clinton was a lower level government employee, she would most likely already be under indictment. If she was running one of those evil Big Corporations, multiple federal agencies would have rushed in with warrants. But, it’s nice to see that the best are now being used

(Fox News) An FBI “A-team” is leading the “extremely serious” investigation into Hillary Clinton’s server and the focus includes a provision of the law pertaining to “gathering, transmitting or losing defense information,” an intelligence source told Fox News.

The section of the Espionage Act is known as 18 US Code 793.

A separate source, who also was not authorized to speak on the record, said the FBI will further determine whether Clinton should have known, based on the quality and detail of the material, that emails passing through her server contained classified information regardless of the markings. The campaign’s standard defense and that of Clinton is that she “never sent nor received any email that was marked classified” at the time.

It is not clear how the FBI team’s findings will impact the probe itself. But the details offer a window into what investigators are looking for — as the Clinton campaign itself downplays the controversy.

Ed Morrissey provides a pretty good explanation of how that section of the Espionage Act applies. It should be noted that Republicans drive out, or at least attempt to drive out, their own people who have been accused of breaking minor laws. Remember Larry Craig? His offense was a misdemeanor. Hillary has certainly been involved in Bad Behavior, if not illegal behavior.

Clinton told reporters Friday that she remains confident no violations were committed.

“I have said repeatedly that I did not send nor receive classified material and I’m very confident that when this entire process plays out that will be understood by everyone,” she said. “It will prove what I have been saying and it’s not possible for people to look back now some years in the past and draw different conclusions than the ones that were at work at the time. You can make different decisions because things have changed, circumstances have changed, but it doesn’t change the fact that I did not send or receive material marked classified.”

What, was she sending smoke signals? Faxes? Classified material was, in fact, found in her emails in her insecure emails, which flowed through her server. Furthermore, even emails that weren’t classified included information on the business of the State Department and United States government. How can we possibly trust someone who intentionally skirted, and most likely broke, the law and common sense regarding security? Companies and governments at all levels work hard to secure their systems, and spend gobs of money doing so. Yet, even they are not totally secure, hence all the hacking issues (see Ashley Madison, Target, IRS, etc). Here was Hillary, using a totally insecure server doing the business of government.

Heck, one would have thought she would want the business of the Clinton Foundation to be as secure as possible.

Man With Largest Carbon Footprint In World Says ‘Climate Change’ Is A Threat Right Now

Let’s be perfectly clear: climate change is real. It always happens. What’s not real is the cult-like belief that it is mostly/solely caused by the works of Mankind. And, certainly, if it was so darned anthropogenic, Obama would not have just take a long fossil fueled flight to New Orleans for the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, which included trips in large fossil fueled vehicle convoy, which is soon to be followed by the same type of trip to Alaska

(The Hill) President Obama is pointing toward Alaska as tangible evidence of the immediate danger climate change presents the U.S.

“This is all real,” Obama said Saturday in his weekly address. “This is happening to our fellow Americans right now.”

“In fact, Alaska’s governor recently told me that four villages are in ‘imminent danger’ and have to be relocated,” he said, citing Gov. Bill Walker (I). “Already, rising sea levels are beginning to swallow one island community.”

“Think about that,” Obama added. “If another country threatened to wipe out an American town, we’d do everything in our power to protect ourselves. Climate change poses the same threat, right now.”

Iran constantly threatens the United States, yet Obama is pushing a deal that would see Iran gain even more power and have more money to carry forth the threat by killing more U.S. citizens.

“Alaskans are already living with its effects,” Obama said. “More frequent and extensive wildfires. Bigger storm surges as sea ice melts faster. Some of the swiftest shoreline erosion in the world – in some places, more than three feet a year.”

There’s no increase in wildfires. Sea rise? A whopping 7 inches during the 20th century, which is very low for a Holocene warm period.

“Alaska’s glaciers are melting faster too, threatening tourism and adding to rising seas,” he added. “And if we do nothing, Alaskan temperatures are projected to rise between six and twelve degrees by the end of the century, changing all sorts of industries forever.”

Glaciers melting during a Holocene warm period is nothing unexpected. They were melting back during the early 20th century, when CO2 was below the “safe” level of 350ppm. As for projections? So far, virtually every climate model has failed, hence the need for scary prognostications.

Now, if only Warmists like Obama would practice what they preach. But, they think that being carbon neutral means paying a fine, such as with purchasing carbon credits, rather than changing their behavior. Rather like refusing to stop speeding, preferring to pay the ticket. Of course, if we go by Cult of Climastrology talking points, speeding won’t destroy all life on Earth.

Climate Change Is Causing Injuries Because It’s Nice Outside And People Go Play

It’s so utterly horrible. Nice weather leads to people going outside and hurting themselves while playing. And no one ever hurt themselves outside before CO2 hit 350ppm, you know

(Climate Progress) People of all ages — not just the elderly — are more at risk of death and emergency room visits as the earth warms, a recent study has found.

The study, published this month by researchers at Brown University and the Rhode Island Department of Health in the journal Environmental Health Perspectives, focused on the population of Rhode Island. Researchers found that it didn’t need to be that hot for people to start visiting the ER in higher numbers — according to the study, a temperature of 75 degrees compared to 65 made heat-related emergency room visits increase by 3.3 percent. But, as it got hotter, the jump in visits was more acute: on days with highs of 85 degrees, ER visits jumped 23.9 percent compared to days with highs of 75 degrees. In addition, Rhode Island’s death rate increased by 4 percent on 85-degree days compared to 75-degree days.

So, again, all this confirms is that when the temps rise, people get outside. And many hurt themselves while doing things in the great outdoors, and even overheat themselves. Shocking! The study even mentions these notions, and points out that the age group is not the elderly, but those 18-64 most at risk.

But, of course

The study warned that, if climate change continues to drive temperatures up, Rhode Island’s residents “would experience substantially higher morbidity and mortality.” If, by the end of this century, days in Rhode Island become 10 degrees warmer — a projection that’s on the high end of climate models — the summertime death rate in the state would increase by 1.5 percent, or about 80 additional deaths per summer. In addition, the ER visit rate would jump by 25 percent, or an increase of about 1,500 visits every summer. And since other states — not just Rhode Island — are expected to see higher temperatures with climate change, the study’s results could serve to make residents around the U.S. wary of high heat.

First, there’s no proof of anthropogenic causation, and, second, seems like people in Rhode Island are rather wimpy.
