FBI “A Team” Involved In Clinton Email Server Probe

If Hillary Clinton was a lower level government employee, she would most likely already be under indictment. If she was running one of those evil Big Corporations, multiple federal agencies would have rushed in with warrants. But, it’s nice to see that the best are now being used

(Fox News) An FBI “A-team” is leading the “extremely serious” investigation into Hillary Clinton’s server and the focus includes a provision of the law pertaining to “gathering, transmitting or losing defense information,” an intelligence source told Fox News.

The section of the Espionage Act is known as 18 US Code 793.

A separate source, who also was not authorized to speak on the record, said the FBI will further determine whether Clinton should have known, based on the quality and detail of the material, that emails passing through her server contained classified information regardless of the markings. The campaign’s standard defense and that of Clinton is that she “never sent nor received any email that was marked classified” at the time.

It is not clear how the FBI team’s findings will impact the probe itself. But the details offer a window into what investigators are looking for — as the Clinton campaign itself downplays the controversy.

Ed Morrissey provides a pretty good explanation of how that section of the Espionage Act applies. It should be noted that Republicans drive out, or at least attempt to drive out, their own people who have been accused of breaking minor laws. Remember Larry Craig? His offense was a misdemeanor. Hillary has certainly been involved in Bad Behavior, if not illegal behavior.

Clinton told reporters Friday that she remains confident no violations were committed.

“I have said repeatedly that I did not send nor receive classified material and I’m very confident that when this entire process plays out that will be understood by everyone,” she said. “It will prove what I have been saying and it’s not possible for people to look back now some years in the past and draw different conclusions than the ones that were at work at the time. You can make different decisions because things have changed, circumstances have changed, but it doesn’t change the fact that I did not send or receive material marked classified.”

What, was she sending smoke signals? Faxes? Classified material was, in fact, found in her emails in her insecure emails, which flowed through her server. Furthermore, even emails that weren’t classified included information on the business of the State Department and United States government. How can we possibly trust someone who intentionally skirted, and most likely broke, the law and common sense regarding security? Companies and governments at all levels work hard to secure their systems, and spend gobs of money doing so. Yet, even they are not totally secure, hence all the hacking issues (see Ashley Madison, Target, IRS, etc). Here was Hillary, using a totally insecure server doing the business of government.

Heck, one would have thought she would want the business of the Clinton Foundation to be as secure as possible.

For what? Inciting selective outrage in Republicans?

The Bush White House deleted MILLIONS of emails kept on private RNC servers after they fired those US Attorneys. Oops! Where was conservative outrage then? lol

There’s no substance to the media attacks on Clinton, but the attacks ARE working, so they’ll keep it up. The corporate media types are playing with America for fun and profit – attacking the vile Hillary and giving blow jobs to Trump. Watch the dreadful Morning Joe on “liberal” MSNBC to hear the constant drumbeat about Liar Clinton and watch Joe and Mika go down on The Donald.

Does the media want Donald as Prez? Of course not. But they love a horse race; they love the circus and they surely love to entertain us rubes.

In 1999, when it looked as if the vile Gore might run away from W, the media went into action with Love Canal, The Internet, Love Story etc. “Al Gore: Liar!” shouted the NY Post editorial. Gore was a LIAR just like the vile Arkansas hillbilly Bill and now so is Hillary! Candidate Gore was “wooden”, a “stiff”, “pedantic” and a “liar”. W was affable, neighborly, compassionate and a guy you’d like to have a beer with.

Will the national media deliver Donald Trump as the next president? They’ve yet to ask about his immigration ideas, his business dealings, his foreign policy, his economic ideas, national defense, healthcare and on and on. Maybe they’ll ask him after he’s elected. In the meantime they’re stalking the vile Hillary and her email account.

Do the media really want Donald as Prez? Of course not. But they love a horse race, the circus and they love to entertain us. They didn’t want W either but they elected him. And paraphrasing the estimable Bob Somerby: “The dead in Iraq cry out from their graves”. All from the malfeasance of our national media.

You can’t have a strong Democracy without strong and independent reporting. Obviously, we’re in trouble.

BTW: Read the Daily Howler by Bob Somerby. He lances sacred cows on the left and right daily.

Yeah folks, the FBI are working for the MSM.
Glad lil’ jeffy cleared that up for us rubes.

    suckingpuppies,

An anonymous source on a FOX opinion site. Shit, remember when the NY Times said there was a criminal investigation and had to recant that?

Perhaps you trust any anonymous source as long as it’s reported on FOX. I am less inclined.

We’re all rubes, not just you.

The finding of four classified e-mails was based on a sample review of just 40 messages.
Although the documents didn’t have classified markings on them at the time they were sent, “some included classified information and should have been handled as classified, appropriately marked, and transmitted via a secure network,” Inspector General Charles McCullough wrote lawmakers Thursday.
McCullough said State Department officials have informed his office there are “potentially hundreds of classified e-mails” within the 30,000 private e-mails Clinton turned over to State.
The findings contradict Clinton claims that she never sent classified material from her private account.

Yeah, the IG is anonymous and probably works for Fox also.

Are you now claiming that the Intelligence Community IG was the anonymous source FOX used to claim the FBI A-Team was on the case??

Mr. I. Charles McCullough III first made his claim about “sensitive” emails over a month ago, and the investigation continues. I wasn’t aware he also claimed the FBI A-Team was on the case. Why didn’t you reveal from where you copied and pasted your “quote”? Was it FOX, WSJ, NY Post, RNC or even a worse source?

Here’s how McClatchy reported it later.

The inspector general for the Intelligence Community notified senior members of Congress that two of four classified emails discovered on the server Clinton maintained at her New York home contained material deemed to be in one of the highest security classifications – more sensitive than previously known.

The notice came as the State Department inspector general’s office acknowledged that it is reviewing the use of “personal communications hardware and software” by Clinton’s former top aides after requests from Congress. [McClatchy DC, 8/11/15]

The State Department explained that the two emails were sent to Secretary Clinton and it’s not yet confirmed they were sensitive.

It’s clear to me that the lovely Mrs Clinton has no notion of the separation of personal business, family foundation business and government business; for her, everything is her personal business, and she’s doubtlessly highly offended that the peons would ever question her judgement and motives. If she wants to do something, she does it, period, and things like the law or government regulations simply do not stand in the way; those things are for the people beneath her.
