There’s no doubt that many, many Muslims around the world were celebrating and dancing in the street when America was attacked on September 11, 2001. But, did they celebrate here in the US?
(NJ.com)  In the weeks since Donald Trump ignited a firestorm by claiming “thousands and thousands” of Muslims in Jersey City cheered the fall of the twin towers on 9/11, elected officials, religious leaders and a former state attorney general denied the existence of celebrations in the city that day.
Media outlets, after scouring archived news stories and video footage, could not find verified accounts of Jersey City Muslims rejoicing.
Please understand, I am not posting this to defend Donald Trump. While he has a few policy positions I support, I in no way want him to be president. I’d rather see ultra-squishy Jon Huntsman before Trump. But, he did have a point, despite it being overblown. Oh, and did the same media spend as much time “scouring” information on Hillary and Barack?
But in a new examination by NJ Advance Media, a police officer who worked on 9/11 and residents on the outskirts of Journal Square say they witnessed small pockets of people celebrating before the groups dispersed or were broken up by authorities.
The NJ Advance Media inquiry, encompassing more than two dozen interviews conducted since Nov. 25, found Trump’s broad assertion that thousands of people cheered to be baseless. At the same time, the inquiry provides the first credible indication of at least two modest celebrations, as described by on-the-record sources who say they witnessed the behavior.
It’s a long, long article, one that shows that there were pockets of cheering by certain members of the Muslim community in Jersey City alone. Does anyone think that this wasn’t happening elsewhere in America? This in no way should indict all members who practice Islam, or even a majority. But, it should make us consider who were are letting into the country. Remember, the hardcore Islamists who perpetrated 9/11 all had visas at one point or another. And it’s not just the violent ones, who are estimated to be just 1% of the people who practice Islam (which would equal 16 million). It’s the reported 10-25% who hold attitudes of hardcore, fundamentalist Islam. And these people, especially the teachers and clerics, teach more to be Islamists. Liberals can bury their heads in the sand, or just deflect away, but, the fundamentalist version of Islam is utterly incompatible with the Progressive agenda. I can’t figure out why Leftists defend hardcore Islam in such an extreme manner.

Climate change – a mom’s view
As a mom of school-aged children in Tallahassee, I feel called to share my excitement for the 2015 Paris Agreement on climate change and its message of hope. Finally, some good news!
Thirteen years ago my life changed when I became a mom, and I realized that my husband and I would do everything we could to protect that beautiful baby girl in our arms. One awful day, our baby daughter began gasping for breath, and we learned she was developing asthma. The doctor told us it was common because Atlanta’s smog could be as bad as Mexico City’s. Whoa. I started paying attention to the smog alerts on the radio, TV and highways, and fear crept in with every Code Red and Code Purple alert. What was causing it? I learned that it was too many cars, power plants and factories pumping carbon into the air.
Um, no. While cars, power plants, and factories are major contributors to smog, smog is not “carbon”, an unscientific way to refer to carbon dioxide. Hey, don’t believe me, believe the EPA
Cars and trucks that combust fuel also emit smog forming emissions, such as nitrogen oxide, non-methane organic gases, carbon monoxide, particulate matter, and formaldehyde.
The Cult of Climastrology is pushing un-scientific propaganda, and they’re all too brainwashed to know it. BTW, does Ms. Fleischer own a fossil fueled vehicle? Does she use energy? Purchase consumer goods? Then, according to her foolish talking point, she’s at fault.
We have moved back to our home town of Tallahassee and love sharing the beauty of this place with our children by playing outside under great live oaks, kayaking on our little lake in Killearn, and spending time on St. George Island. But I couldn’t unlearn what I knew about carbon and climate change.
All parents want to provide a safe place for our children to grow, live and to reach their God-given potential, but by no fault of their own, their future is threatened by the effects of climate change. We read stories about epic storms and their human toll, droughts that turn fertile land into deserts, and California water reserves drying up. We see images of skinny polar bears and melting arctic ice, bleached coral and dying oceans. And closer to home, we hear about sunny-day flooding in Miami Beach, experience record high temperatures and prepare for super storms. It’s no wonder busy parents just tune it all out and hope for the best – a feeling of helplessness has set in.
Maybe she should unlearn it all, because she was wrong about smog, and pretty much wrong on everything else. Of course, after learning all this (false propaganda) information, she immediate went out and changed her own life, right? Right?
I found a local nonpartisan group called Citizens’ Climate Lobby that focuses on solutions, and have been inspired to help. I invite you to have hope, tune in and stand up for our kids’ future. Come to a CCL meeting and learn how to encourage our leaders to move toward clean energy with a Carbon Fee Dividend program.
Nope. She wants to force Everyone Else to practice what she preaches. All based on lies. This is what Skeptics are fighting against. We would prefer to focus on the real problems. In the case of smog, yes, let’s look for ways to deal with this real environmental and health issue. Great strides have been made over the past 40 years. Warmists would throw it all away by focusing an dogmatic junk science.

Well, I bet you didn’t see this one coming
No, There Has Not Been a Mass Shooting Every Day This Year
This inflated stat all over the media isn’t just misleading—it’s stirring undue fear.Take a moment to consider what type of violent event that headline just brought to mind. The places and horrifying attacks you likely recalled surface instantly for most of us when we see or hear the term “mass shooting”—Columbine and Virginia Tech. Aurora and Sandy Hook. Charleston and San Bernardino.
Even as these mass shootings have grown more frequent and loom large in our consciousness, they are a tiny fraction of America’s gun violence and remain relatively rare. Yet many news outlets keep declaring that there have been upwards of “355 mass shootings this year” or “more than one mass shooting per day.” Many gun control advocates say the same.
This wildly inflated statistic isn’t just misleading the public—it’s stirring undue fear and may be encouraging bad policies.
In fact, there have been four mass shootings this year. Or, if you count using the federal government’s current criteria—three or more victims killed in an indiscriminate public rampage—there have been six mass shootings this year.
Huh. Let’s see
So, two by wackjobs and two by Islamists.
Anyhow, the article is well worth the read, a fair and impartial bit of actual journalism. What is the solution to stopping any mass shootings, or even “small” shootings? They can’t stop them in nations that have banned private ownership of guns.

Happy Sunday! Another gorgeous day in the Once and Future Nation of America, and it’s just a few short days from Christmas, so we need a Christmas pinup! I’m not sure who did this pinup, which I’ve added a wee bit to.
What is happening in Ye Olde Blogosphere? The Fine 15
As always, the full set of pinups can be seen in the Patriotic Pinup category, or over at my Gallery page. While we are on pinups, since it is that time of year, have you gotten your “Pinups for Vets†calendar yet? And don’t forget to check out what I declare to be our War on Women Rule 5 and linky luv posts and things that interest me
Don’t forget to check out all the other great material all the linked blogs have!
Anyone else have a link or hotty-fest going on? Let me know so I can add you to the list. (BTW, since someone asked, the reason I leave links for the previous week up (or you might see a *) is because they are place holders for later in the day or for next weeks. Easier than rewriting all the time. Also, the listing order has to do with how they are added over time, not how good a post is. I just copy and paste from the previous week, then edit. If you see one of the *’s, go ahead and check out the blog anyhow, see if there is an update. I cannot update with my Android during the day.
Another day, another scary photoshop of a city disappearing into the sea
Yesterday we posted a Visualhouse rendering projecting the 2030 Miami skyline.
Curbed commenter Erik Botsford put his Photoshop skills to use and revealedwhat a 2030 Miami skyline would look like with a dramatic and depressing rise in sea level, with Biscayne Bay engulfing Downtown Miami and its surrounding buildings, like the American Airlines Arena. Here is an overlay of the two images.
To see the overlay, you’ll have to hit the link, because of the type of graphic. Here’s what it looks like in the after

I’m figuring that we’re talking about at least 25 feet of sea rise, possibly more, probably more, to bury everything as portrayed. And, certainly, they aren’t the only ones who’ve done this, nor the only ones speaking out with apocalyptic prognostications.
What does the data say? Despite an overall projection by the NOAA, the very limited data from Miami Beach, which ran from 1931-1981, shows just 2.39mm of sea rise per year, meaning .78 feet per century. The nearest monitoring stations are Vaca Key, which shows 3.34mm year, so 1.10 feet over 100 years (well within the norms for a Holocene warm period), and Lake Worth Pier, which is so short on measurements as to be worthless. Mayport, north of Miami, is one of the best, since measurements started in 1928, and go through 2014. It shows 2.5mm year.
Interestingly, for all the hysteria, no one really seems to have any hard data on sea rise in the Miami area since 1981. If you can find it, let me know. Everything seems to be projections, where the curve is added to create a projection of 6 feet of sea rise, adding to the ending point of 1981 of the NOAA data. Where are the satellite data sets? Where are the hard direct measurements?
Oh, then we get this
Projections for sea-level rise are all over the place but barring some unforeseen variable or climatic disaster, our seas obviously won’t be rising thisquickly. Nonetheless it’s a scary sight. If this website does not exist tomorrow, assume Rick Scott had it terminated.
Oh. So, they throw out scary prognostications, then walk them back. Really, it will take at least 700 years to achieve 6 feet of sea rise. This isn’t a science, it is a political cult.
