Bummer: ‘Climate Change’ Comes In Dead Last On Latest U.N. Poll

All these polls showing the low ranking of ‘climate change’ on lists of people’s concerns is getting rather repetitive, wouldn’t you say?

(No Tricks Zone) Over the last few years, the United Nations has been conducting an online poll, asking the world’s citizens —well, those fortunate enough to have access to electrical power, a computer, and the internet — what is most important to them, what concerns them most, or what issue they view as the highest priority for action.

In all, there are 16 priorities to choose from, ranging from phone and internet access to building more roads, protecting rivers and forests, better health care, etc.

Over 9.7 million people across all nations and age groups and educational and income levels have voted so far. And, shockingly, of the 16 listed priorities for action, “Action taken on climate change” ranks a distant 16th, or last.

The world’s citizens are more concerned about access to paved roads and phones than they are about taking action to combat the greatest threat facing mankind.

Well, bummer

It’s actually worse than that looks. “Action on climate change” comes in dead last among male, female, under 15, 16-30, 31-45, and all 5 education segments. For those 46 and over, it comes in next to last.

No Tricks Zone goes on to note

Perhaps there aren’t enough alarming studies linking climate change to personal catastrophes to generate more public concern about climate change as an issue.

And then highlights that there are tons and tons of scaremongering personal stories pushed by Warmists and their compliant media. Really, it all goes to show that there are things that people care quite a bit more than tiny changes in the climate.

Obama Pleads With Insurance Execs To Not Bail On His Government Enterprise

As Obamacare continues to implode almost exactly as predicted even before it was passed in the dead of night using parliamentary shenanigans, Obama is pleading with insurance executives to not bail on the federal exchanges, which are causing them to lose money hand over fist

(Politico) Deep into the final year of his presidency, Barack Obama is working behind the scenes to secure Obamacare’s legacy, struggling to bolster a program whose ultimate success or failure will likely be determined by his successor.

With no lifeline coming from the divided Congress, Obama and his administration are redoubling their pleas for insurers to shore up the federal health care law and pushing uninsured Americans — especially younger ones — to sign up for coverage. The administration is nervously preparing for its final Obamacare open-enrollment season just a week before Election Day, amid a cascade of headlines about rising premiums, fleeing insurers and narrowing insurance options.

Premiums are expected to go up sharply for 2017. Particularly since the young and healthy are not interested in joining.

On Monday, Obama met face to face at the White House with leading insurance executives, asking for their continued commitment to the health law despite its recent spate of difficulties. Insurers have come to the White House periodically as the law has rolled out; this time the president made a direct plea for their ongoing support. They in turn pressed their case for steps the administration can still take to strengthen the Obamacare markets.

Notably absent were two of the national insurers that have already bailed on most Obamacare marketplaces — Aetna and UnitedHealth Group.

So, there weren’t more than a handful of represented companies. If the co-op managers were present, well, they’ve been whittled down to 6, as Health Republic Insurance of NJ collapsed several days ago due to hazardous financial conditions.

“We know that this progress has not been without challenges,” Obama wrote this week to each insurer selling Obamacare plans. “Most new enterprises have growing pains and opportunities for improvement. The Marketplace, while strong, is no exception. Time and experience will help drive that improvement, as will constructive policy changes.”

Got that? A government dominated and essentially controlled system is a “enterprise” in Obama’s World. This is the Leftist view of the economy. What kind of enterprise is it that forces citizens to either purchase health insurance or be taxed simply for being a citizen.

Of course, when a new enterprise has the financial metrics of Obamacare, they tend to collapse and go out of business. Just like Ocare is slowly doing.

But Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) scoffed at the idea that Republicans should work to salvage the law. “I remember the victory dance that you guys performed after passing Obamacare without a single Republican vote,” McCain said at a hearing on Thursday. “Now the chickens have come home to roost.”

This is your ugly baby, Dems. It’s all on you.

Meanwhile, remember when Democrats slammed Joe Wilson when he said “you lie!” when Obama said illegal aliens wouldn’t be covered?

California Democrats advocated for President Barack Obama to sign a waiver allowing undocumented immigrants to buy healthcare plans through the Obamacare exchanges Wednesday, claiming the change would not be federally subsidized.

Funny how most prognostications about Ocare keep coming true.

Trump Releases Pro-Growth Plan

Here’s the question: do you you believe he would attempt to do what’s in the plan? For all the things that I might give him grief over, the man does know how the private business sector works. And, no, he’s not perfect.

FACT SHEET: DONALD J. TRUMP’S PRO-GROWTH ECONOMIC POLICY WILL CREATE 25 MILLION JOBS

Donald Trump has proposed sweeping reforms in tax, trade, energy and regulatory policies. The Trump campaign’s economist estimates that the plan would conservatively boost growth to 3.5 percent per year on average, well above the 2 percent currently projected by government forecasters, with the potential to reach a 4% growth rate.

Growth averaged at least three and a half percent per year in the 55 years between World War II and the year 2000. With the faster growth from the Trump Plan, the economy will create 25 million new jobs over the next decade. For each 1 percent in added GDP growth, the economy adds 1.2 million jobs. Increasing growth by 1.5 percent would result in 18 million jobs (1.5 times 1.2 million times 10 years) above the projected current law job figures of 7 million, producing a total of 25 million new jobs for the American economy.

On taxation, a few highlights (I’ll leave it up to you to read in full)

  • Every income group receives a tax cut under the Trump plan, with million more being removed from the income tax rolls and low-income Americans paying no income tax at all.
  • The plan lowers the business tax rate to 15%. The current business rate 35% rate is one of the highest in the world, making domestic investment unattractive. It includes a 10% tax on repatriation, instantly bringing trillions of dollars back into the U.S. economy now parked overseas.
  • Tax brackets in the individual income tax will be reduced from 7 to 3. Tax rates will be 12%, 25% or 33%, with thresholds very similar to the House GOP plan.

Obviously, the Usual Suspects are not happy about reducing taxes on individuals and corporations, not on doing away with the death tax. I do think he’d be better off dropping repatriation down to 5% or lower. You want that money brought back.

Mr. Trump has proposed a moratorium on new federal regulations that are not compelled by Congress or public safety, and will ask agency and department heads to identify all needless job-killing regulations and they will be removed.

This includes eliminating some of our most intrusive regulations, like the Waters of The U.S. Rule. It also means scrapping the EPA’s so-called Clean Power Plan which the government itself estimates will cost $7.2 billion a year. This Obama-Clinton directive will shut down most, if not all, coal-powered electricity plans in America.

He should demand that wasteful regulations be found and killed.

On trade, he wants the Trans-Pacific Partnership killed. Interestingly, TPP has bipartisan support and opposition. And tends to poll negatively, including among folks like the Bernie Sanders supporters and true American Conservatives. Trump wants to make sure that trade agreements are upheld by foreign governments. He’d like to renegotiate NAFTA. And bring cases against China for currency manipulation and unfair trade (I doubt that will happen.)

He’s all for an “all of the above” energy policy, and for removing restrictions that cause harm. Streamlining regulation and permitting is mentioned.

Liberals will be against this all, as you can guess. Why? They think the solution is always taxation (on Other People), rather than economic movement where people are making more money, saving more, spending more, thereby increasing taxes paid. Hillary just wants to put more and more restrictions on everything while increasing taxation, which reduces economic output and drives out business.

Good News For Warmists: Americans Are Willing To Pay $1 A Month More To Solve ‘Climate Change’

That’s about as good as it gets, though (you can see the poll overhead here. There are many links, the one with topline results has the full metrics)

(Newsmax-AP) Most Americans are willing to pay a little more each month to fight global warming — but only a tiny bit, according to a new poll. Still, environmental policy experts hail that as a hopeful sign.

Seventy-one percent want the federal government to do something about global warming, including 6 percent who think the government should act even though they are not sure that climate change is happening, according to a poll conducted by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research and the Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago.

And those polled said they’d be willing to foot a little of that cost in higher electric bills.

If the cost of fighting climate change is only an additional $1 a month, 57 percent of Americans said they would support that. But as that fee goes up, support for it plummets. At $10 a month, 39 percent were in favor and 61 percent opposed. At $20 a month, the public is more than 2-to-1 against it. And only 1-in-5 would support $50 a month.

Huh. These numbers are arrived at with a Republican/Democrat/Independent survey which breaks down to 22/35/24 sampling, with 19% saying “none of these.” So, vastly oversamples Democrats, and still we get that number.

Of those polled, 77 percent said climate change is happening, 13 percent weren’t sure, and only 10 percent said it wasn’t happening.

The problem here is that the question doesn’t delineate between natural climate change and a position where humans are mostly/solely responsible. If you ask me, yes, we are seeing climatic changes, but, doesn’t mean I think mankind is mostly/solely responsible.

Anyhow, the majority who are willing to pay more than a $1 a month are Democrats, so, have at it, folks! Practice what you preach.

Climate Weenies Want A Secretary Of Climate Change

Alternate headline: people who use vast amounts of fossil fuels want issue that no one really cares about to be made cabinet level

(Daily Caller) National security insiders and environmentalists believe the next U.S. president must create a new cabinet position to confront so-called man made global warming.

An environmentalist think tank and former members of the military brass argued in a report Wednesday that future presidential administrations must tackle global warming by crafting a cabinet level position to deal with the effects climate change have on national security.

If you’re guessing that the majority of these military folks are hardcore lefties, you’d be correct.

The document, which also describes global warming as a “significant and direct” threat to the U.S. military, is the brainchild of Washington-based think tank Center for Climate and Security, as well as senior military officials including retired Gen. Anthony Zinni, former commander of the U.S. Central Command, and Admiral Samuel Locklear, the former head of the Pacific Command.

Let’s be honest and clear: climatic changes do represent problems for the military. They always have. Think of the cold weather of the Little Ice Age during the Revolutionary War. All the various climates that soldiers fought in during WWII. The cold and hot of Korea. The hot, sticky jungles of Vietnam. It all boils down to the question, though, of causation. These weenies say mankind is mostly/solely responsible for this warm period. Yet, few will give up their own big carbon footprints, and most want initiatives that increase the size, power, and scope of the federal government to increase. More taxation, more restrictions on liberty, more and more control of energy and the economy. More control of your lives.

Why does every “solution” from the Cult of Climastrology revolve around bigger, more powerful government? Answer that question, and you understand the whole ‘climate change’ push.

Powell Email Hack: Hillary Can Barely Walk Stairs

There are quite a few revelations from the email hack that hit Colin Powell, some ugly for Trump, some ugly for Hillary. Here’s an interesting one

(Mediaite) In a leaked email, Democratic megadonor Jeffrey Leeds said that a Democratic senator had told him Hillary Clinton had difficulty even climbing a podium when they did a joint event.

Leeds has donated large amounts to Democratic candidates and the Clinton Foundation over the years. In a 2015 email that was leaked after the hack of former Republican Secretary of State Colin Powell‘s email account, he told Powell privately that one of Clinton’s former Senate colleagues was concerned about her health.

“[Democratic Rhode Island Senator] Sheldon Whitehouse, who is a huge Clinton supporter, said they were both giving speeches at the same event a few months back and she could barely climb the podium steps,” Leeds told Powell.

Interestingly, one of the leftist pundits on MSNBC responded to a question on her falling poll numbers by saying that her campaign was limping.

Powell also makes a comment about her not looking good on HDTV, and that she’s working herself to death. And, that she and Bill loathe Obama, who she always calls “that man.”

Rather puts that photo in a different light, wouldn’t you say?

Both Hillary and Trump released “medical records” Wednesday. Trump released the details of his most recent physical to Dr. Oz, for broadcast Thursday. It will supposedly say that he is overweight (shocking) and takes Statin for cholesterol. Several Democrats, such as Harry Reid and David Plouffe, are taking shots at Trump for being fat.

Hillary similarly released only the details of her most recent exam post-collapse.

Dr. Lisa Bardack said she examined Clinton several times this week following her pneumonia diagnosis on Friday and said “the remainder of her complete physical was normal.”

Bardack, Clinton’s personal doctor, said she found a “mild, non-contagious bacterial pneumonia.”

Then why was everyone in her campaign catching it?

The rest of the physical exam “was normal and she is in excellent mental condition,” Bardack said in a letter released to the press. The entire letter is posted below.

Um, she had pneumonia (supposedly): why would she to comment on her mental condition? Regardless, you can bet people (meaning “not the compliant press corps”) will be looking to get pictures of her stumbling and not able to walk stairs. Will it all matter? Well, Trump is rising in the polls and Hillary is falling. What will the next round of big polls be? The big ones will be the battleground states and those that Trump should carry.

UN Recommends Long Fossil Fueled Flights For Mandatory Leaders Climate Meeting

Can you imagine a President Donald Trump being forced to attend this meeting?

(Climate Change News)  World leaders would be compelled to attend a UN climate summit every five years from 2020, under plans published by the Marshall Islands last week.

It wants a regular repeat of the 2014 New York summit convened by Ban Ki-moon, which saw US president Barack Obama lead fellow heads of state in committing to a new climate pact.

The tiny Pacific island nation’s government believes it’s the best way of guaranteeing the freshly minted Paris Agreement delivers on a goal to steadily raise the speed of global carbon cuts.

The Marshall Islands have 33 airports, 3 of which are military.

Interestingly, this document says that the “historic” Paris climate accord is a piece of worthless refuse

The nationally determined contributions (NDCs) put forward by more than 185 countries are to be welcomed. But even if fully implemented they could still lead to a catastrophic rise in global temperatures of almost 3ËšC by the end of the century. Clearly then the current crop of NDCs are woefully short of what is needed to limit global temperature rise to 1.5ËšC. Achieving that goal is required to ensure the survival of our country and to stop runaway climate change throughout the world.

So, if it leads to a catastrophic rise, then what was the point?
