Good News: Climate Deal Could Keep A/C From Developing India

I’m still waiting for all the Cult of Climastrology members to give up their own air conditioning. Instead, they want to deny Other People the same modern lifestyle developments that make their own lives nice

Emerging Climate Accord Could Push A/C Out of Sweltering India’s Reach

A thrill goes down Lane 12, C Block, Kamalpur every time another working-class family brings home its first air-conditioner. Switched on for a few hours, usually to cool a room where the whole family sleeps, it transforms life in this suffocating concrete labyrinth where the heat reached 117 degrees in May.

“You wake up totally fresh,” exulted Kaushilya Devi, a housewife, whose husband bought a unit in May. “I wouldn’t say we are middle class,” she said. “But we are closer.”

But 3,700 miles away, in Kigali, Rwanda, negotiators from more than 170 countries gathered this week to complete an accord that would phase out the use of heat-trapping hydrofluorocarbons, or HFCs, worldwide, and with them the cheapest air-conditioners that are just coming within reach of people like Ms. Devi. Millions of Indians might mark the transition from poverty with the purchase of their first air-conditioner, but as those purchases ease suffering in one of the planet’s hottest countries, they are contributing profoundly to the heating of the planet.

Let’s be honest: HFC’s are a greenhouse gas that should be concerning, being around 1,000 more powerful than CO2, and doesn’t seem to have a doubling effect. It would be worthwhile to replace it. The problem here is that any alternatives right now are much, much more expensive, so, people in developing nations won’t be able to afford this like air conditioners. And refrigerators. And anything that uses HFCs.

The replacements are more toxic and flammable. How about that?

But the deal, which could be completed this weekend, could have as much or more of an effect on climate change. Unlike the Paris accord, the emerging Kigali agreement will have the force of international law, a legal requirement that rich countries give poor countries money to help them comply, and trade and economic sanctions against countries that do not.

Screwing poor people by force of international law. Good job, Warmists. Now give up your own use of any device that uses HFCs.

Climate Skeptics File Civil Suit Against Climate Alarmists Alleging Criminal Activity

I bet the Warmists didn’t see this one coming. They’re so used to being able to get away with their nefarious schemes that they do not expect those on the right to fight back

NOW RICO TURNED AGAINST CLIMATE-CHANGE ACTIVISTS
Lawsuit charges conspiracy to hide truth, promote propaganda for financial gain

It was a year ago when a long list of scientists wrote to the Obama administration urging the federal government to use RICO, the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, against global-warming skeptics.

They said in a letter addressed to President Obama, Attorney General Loretta Lynch and Office of Science and Technology Policy Director John Holdren they “appreciate that you are making aggressive and imaginative use of the limited tools available to you in the face of a recalcitrant Congress.”

“One additional tool – recently proposed by Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse – is a RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act) investigation of corporations and other organizations that have knowingly deceived the American people about the risks of climate change, as a means to forestall America’s response to climate change,” they wrote, according to Politico.

Now the tables are turned.

A mathematician and software engineer has filed a lawsuit in Texas naming dozens of environmental groups and others seeking to influence public action and expenditures regarding global warming programs in an action alleging violations of RICO.

Plaintiff Leonid Goldstein explains at the outset of his complaint, “This is a civil suit against Climate Action Network and other corporations, who engaged in a long-term criminal scheme, involving a false claim that anthropogenic release (or emissions) of carbon dioxide caused a dangerous ‘global warming’ or a dangerous ‘climate change,’ and persecution of the dissidents or demanding government actions, based on this false claim, including money transfer.

The suit was filed in US court in Texas, and includes such names as Rockefeller Brothers Fund, Ford Foundation, Greenpeace, Sierra Club, the U.S. Climate Action Network, the Global Call for Climate Action Group, Friends of Earth, Environmental Defense Fund, Earthjustice, Pew Memorial Trust, the Packard Foundation and Tides Foundation as part of what is being called Climate Action Network et all. Too bad they didn’t include people like the Democratic Attorneys general and Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) who were colluding.

They’re referring to the whole thing as a “Climate Alarmism Enterprise”, kinda like a mafia.

It’s a very long article, well worth the read. You can see the suit here.

Final Presidential Debate To Feature Actual Issues

The final debate, and Trump’s last chance unless there is a massive October/November surprise against Hillary that the media can neither ignore, downplay, nor explain away, occurs on October 19th in Nevada, which is next Wednesday. And the topics?

(LA Times) The Commission on Presidential Debates released topics on Wednesday for the third — and final — presidential debate next week.

Fox News anchor Chris Wallace will moderate the debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump and has selected topics focused on debt and entitlements, immigration, the economy, the Supreme Court, foreign hot spots and the candidates’ fitness to be president.

The topics are subject to change, but, as it stands now, these would typically be Republican leaning topics. Chris Wallace will take great pains to be neutral, unlike in the previous debates where the moderators certainly were there to help out Hillary.

Immigration? This should be a bread and butter topic for Trump. He better be ready for Hillary to come after him.

Debt and entitlements? Trump better be ready to squash Hillary for her support of the crazy spending by Obama which she wants to continue, and ready for Hillary to call him mean.

The economy? Trump best be ready with some facts about how lame the economy has been under Obama, and, again, that Hillary wants to do the same.

If he’s not studying up on these topics, and just taking them for granted, she will bait him and have pre-planned answers. He best have policies he can explain. He needs to stay away from the personal attacks and focus on her failures and support of failing Obama policies. We’ll see.

How Much Is The RNC Spending On Donald Trump Ads?

The number might shock you

(Politico) The Republican National Committee insists that it’s doing everything in its power to elect Donald Trump, but as Trump gets clobbered on the TV airwaves by his well-funded Democratic rival, the RNC has been conspicuously absent.

A POLITICO analysis of campaign finance records reveals that the committee has not spent anything on commercials boosting Trump since he emerged as the party’s likely nominee.

That’s right: $0. Nada. Zilch. The typically spend tens of millions on TV, radio, and other things like mailers. Now? Bumpkiss. Why?

RNC chief of staff Katie Walsh said that the committee is not going to spend any more money this cycle on television ad IEs, but that the decision is completely unrelated to Trump.

Rather, she said it stems from a strategic calculation made soon after the 2012 election that “that is not an efficient use of party committee dollars to spend money on television.” Pointing to a report that assessed the shortcomings of Republican efforts in the 2012 election, she said RNC leaders determined that the party’s money was better invested in data-driven voter contact operations.

Real or spin? Could it be that they just don’t feel it’s worth the bother, when the candidate himself barely bothers with TV ads? I don’t know about you, but, I rarely see an official Trump TV commercial or hear a radio ad. If I had to guess, I’ll see/hear 1 for every ten official Hillary ones. Most pro-Trump/anti-Hillary are by independent groups.

Despite the Democratic National Committee’s lack of any IE spending, Clinton and groups supporting her had outspent Trump and his allies on ads $189 million to $50 million through the end of last week, according to advertising data compiled by the firm Advertising Analytics for NBC News.

The big donors who typically hook up PACs and such aren’t reaching deep into their pockets in support of Trump.

But, really, what of the Trump campaign itself?

(Wall Street Journal) Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are spending millions to flood swing-state airwaves with campaign ads in the final weeks of the presidential election. But because Mrs. Clinton’s team typically books hers much earlier, her dollars are going further.

Mrs. Clinton paid $770 to air a 30-second spot Monday during the drama “Timeless” on Fort Myers, Fla.’s WBBH, according to Federal Communications Commission filings that were confirmed by the TV station. Mr. Trump paid about $300 more for his ad on the same show.

Trump is paying more because they are booking later, because they really don’t seem to know what they’re doing.

The article also highlights the overall discrepancy on spending. In comparison, Romney and the groups supporting him had spend $550 million in 2012. Obama and his groups spent $500 million. Hillary and the groups that support her are sitting at $325 million. Trump’s number? $78 million.

He is finally booking lots of spots, but, she had a two month head start. How much will late in the game ads make a difference? I guess we’ll see. But, the spending, or, rather, lack thereof by the RNC shows how much they’ve just washed their hands of the whole thing.

Bummer: Louisiana Isn’t Letting Illegal Aliens And Terrorists Get Married

Obviously, this is causing a massive case of the meanies according to the Washington Post’s Catherine Rampell

For an illustration of how cruel the country’s latest wave of nativism has grown, look to Louisiana.

Here, a little-noticed new state law has effectively made it illegal for thousands of refugees to get married.

It all started last year. Having lost the fight over gay marriage, the state’s religious right decided that the sacred institution of wedlock was once again under attack — this time, by devious immigrants. Undocumented workers and even terrorists had newly discovered they could exploit Louisiana’s marriage laws to gain citizenship, legislators claimed, leading to a supposed epidemic of “marriage fraud.”

The response? Make it more difficult for immigrants to get married, of course.

Hmm, sounds like a good idea, wiping away a loophole in the law that would allow those who shouldn’t be here in the first place, and those who have terrorist leanings, from gaining citizenship.

What Catherine whines about is that this law catches legal immigrants in a trap, because some do not have a birth certificate. OK, one. That’s right, one had an issue. That’s it. One. Who drove to Alabama to get married legally. But, could probably have asked for a waiver, based on his tenure and legal status in the country. And the fact that he probably wasn’t a threat for terrorism, being Buddhist.

But, you know, if even one is inconvenienced, well, we have to scrap all the laws, even if it makes it easy for illegals and terrorists to gain citizenship. Of course, if it’s one biological girl being inconvenienced because a gender confused boy wants in to her bathroom, shower, and changing room, well, the left has fours for her: “piss off, you hater.”

NYC Could See More Hurricanes From ‘Climate Change’ Or Something

In the future, of course

Study Finds Climate Change Could Lead to More Hurricanes on NYC Coast

Hurricanes could start flooding New York City’s coastline as often as every 20 years due to the effects of climate change on sea-level rise and hurricane activity, scientists said on Monday.

Water could surge some 9 feet (2.8 meters) in hurricanes occurring anywhere from three to 17 times more often than today, they said.

“That’s approximately – worst case scenario – once every 20 years,” said Benjamin Horton, part of a team of U.S. scientists who published their findings in a study.

The projections act as a reminder of the human cost of climate change, said Horton, in particular after Hurricane Matthew ravaged the southeastern United States over the weekend.

It’s all based on the notion that things will change from today due to “carbon pollution,” because there’s no possible method that the climate could otherwise change in the eyes of the Cult of Climastrology.

The projections highlight the importance of slashing greenhouse gas emissions that cause climate change, he said.

The study is based on a combination of historical data and computer model projections.

In other words, just more bullshit from Warmists who program their models to give them the doomsaying projects they want, so they can throw out scientific words like “could” and “might.”

We Finally Have A Major Newspaper Refer To Trump As The Devil

Is this just metaphorical, from the Washington Post’s Dana Milbank?

The religious right makes a deal with the devil

The late Jerry Falwell, leader of the Moral Majority and founder of Liberty University, built the religious right into a major political force.

His son Jerry Jr. is well on his way to destroying it.

Falwell fils, now Liberty’s president, was among the first and most prominent evangelical Christian leaders to embrace thrice-married, foul-mouthed casino mogul Donald Trump, declaring in January that Trump had lived his life in the spirit of Jesus. This endorsement validated Trump’s character for millions of evangelicals, helping to propel Trump to the Republican nomination. Falwell continued to campaign for Trump, spoke at the Republican convention and likened Trump to Winston Churchill in an August op-ed in The Post.

It continues on in that vein, highlighting how the Religious Right (as opposed to the baby killing and immoral Left, I suppose), have essentially made a deal with the devil to support Trump over Hillary. Perhaps they are simply putting the two on a balance scale, and finding Hillary and her policies and beliefs to be way too immoral to consider voting for her.

Of course, on the flip side, Milbank does make a good point in that if a person is lacking in morals, why would religious leaders throw their support to that person in the name of Trump? There’s a big debate amongst the #NeverHillarys who are also “I can’t freaking believe we nominated Trump”, which boils down to “this guy doesn’t represent me, he doesn’t want my vote, he’s a loose cannon, he spends more time fighting against Republicans than Democrats/Hillary, and he really is a Democrat in Republican clothes. But, the thought of 4 years of Hillary is beyond concerning. Is it worth taking a chance on Trump, or do I stick with my principles and wash my hands of this guy?”

Right now, Trump is attempting to burn down the GOP more than he’s attacking Hillary, and we get headlines such as

How much of this is simply a typical leftist media attempt to split the GOP, which happens every election cycle, and how much is based in reality, considering Trump has a history starting with the primary season of trashing Republicans more harshly than Democrats/Hillary? Now that the shackles are off, he seems to want to burn down the GOP, something the Democrats have never been able to do, splitting everyone, and his supporters not only willingly follow along, they advocate this.

They forget that Trump has stated that he’s not a conservative, that he doesn’t need the Conservative vote, and he’d rather make a play for Bernie Sanders supporters. He never cared about unity. And he’s destroying the down ballot races as he implodes. Hey, maybe things will turn out well. Maybe the polls are all wrong, and the final poll on November 8th will go Trump’s way with the GOP holding the Senate and House. I won’t hold my breathe, and, will note what Kevin D. Williamson (who’s being called GOPe, a cuckservative, and a traitor for failing to back Trump) wrote in May, when he pre-planned his I told you so

I want to leave a note here, because I expect to have many occasions to link back to it in the next several months.

Americans and Republicans, remember: You asked for this. Given the choice between a dozen solid conservatives and one Clinton-supporting con artist and game-show host, you chose the con artist. You chose him freely. Nobody made you do it.

Not all of us did. And I wash my hands of the whole thing at this point. The GOP is less than perfect. We know that. But, they are better than Democrats, and I do not like the way the Trumpites have moved it towards acting in the same “you’re either with us or you will be destroyed” attitude that Democrats have. You’ve been conned. You no longer hold American Conservative values. If I lose readers and commentors, so be it. The results are on Trump supporters.

Al Gore Finally Appears For Hillary, Whines About Florida 2000

Seriously, these people just don’t ever let go

(Politico) Former Vice President Al Gore introduced himself to Florida millennials on Tuesday, telling them that his near miss in the 2000 presidential election is “exhibit A” for why it’s so important to vote.

Campaigning with Hillary Clinton in Miami, Gore highlighted two messages he wanted to share with the former secretary of state’s supporters.

“No. 1, when it comes to the most urgent issue facing our country and the world, the choice in this election is extremely clear. Hillary Clinton will make solving the climate crisis a top national priority,” Gore said. “Very important.”

Donald Trump, whom Gore referred to as “her opponent,” would take America “toward a climate catastrophe,” he said.

Obviously, he wouldn’t be the Goracle without mentioning Hotcoldwetdry, and yammering on about climate catastrophe. Did any industrious reporter ask Gore what modes of travel he used to get to Miami?

“Here’s my second message: Your vote really, really, really counts — a lot. You can consider me as an exhibit A of that group. Now, for those of you who are younger than 25, you might not remember the election of 2000 and what happened here in Florida and across the country,” Gore said, prompting boos from the crowd.

“For those of you older than 25, I heard you murmuring just now. But take it from me, it was a very close election,” Gore said, as supporters began to chant “You won! You won!”

“Here’s my point: I don’t want you to be in a position years from now where you welcome Hillary Clinton and say: ‘Actually, you did win. It just wasn’t close enough to make sure that all the votes were counted or whatever,” Gore added.

“To hell with the legalities, all barely known votes matter! Yeaaaaarg!”

OK, I made up that last line. It is highly amusing that 16 years later Democrats, including Gore, are still whining about the utterly and completely legal George Bush win in Florida. The ones trying to cheat were Democrats. Republicans, ie, the Bush campaign, followed the actual law, which is why the Supreme Court ruled in his favor. But, Dems will not let go.

And the funniest part of the whole thing is thing is, as has been noted again and again, 27 of the 28 election precincts that had all these problems were run by Democrats. The 28th was independent. Instead of complaining about people following that darned notion call Law, Democrats should worry more about fixing their own house.

Gore outlined the need for a president who prioritizes the climate crisis — “a president who gets it, who cares about it, who’s internalized it, who’s passionate about it, who’s determined to lead our country and with our country to lead the world at the key moment when we really do have the opportunity to solve this climate crisis and make our country stronger and more prosperous at the same time,” he said.

Here’s a question: does Hillary really care about ‘climate change’? She rarely ever mentions it, usually only in passing. She’d probably leave the Clean Power Plan in action (provided the courts don’t kill it), along with the Paris Climate accord, and let the EPA run wild, but, she doesn’t seem passionate enough to attempt the kinds of things Obama did, nor what Gore would want her to do. She would have other fish to fry. It just doesn’t seem important to her.

Florida 2000. Get a grip, people. So silly and unhinged.
