Latest Scenario Of ‘Climate Change’ (scam) Doom: Dengue Fever

A tax will fix this, you know. And you giving up meat and riding your bike to work will also help

Keeping Global Warming to 1.5 Degrees Could Spare Millions Pain of Dengue Fever

Faster international action to control global warming could halt the spread of dengue fever in the Western Hemisphere and avoid more than 3 million new cases a year in Latin America and the Caribbean by the end of the century, scientists report.

The tropical disease, painful but not usually fatal, afflicts hundreds of millions of people around the world. There is no vaccine, so controlling its spread by reining in global warming would be a significant health benefit.

The study is one of several recently published that attempt to quantify the benefits of cutting pollution fast enough to keep warming below 1.5 degrees Celsius. It also projects infection patterns at 2 degrees of warming and 3.7 degrees, a business-as-usual case.

Got that? It’s something that’s been happening for a long, long time, but, it’s going to totally happen if we (and by we, they mean forcing taxes, fees, restrictions, etc, on you, not themselves) fail to something something something.

Without greater ambition, the study projected an additional 12.1 million annual cases of dengue fever in the Caribbean and Latin America by the end of the century.

By comparison, if warming is held to 2 degrees Celsius from pre-industrial times—the longstanding international climate goal—the number of estimated additional cases in the region falls to 9.3 million.

Controlling emissions to keep the temperature trajectory at 1.5 degrees Celsius would lower that to an annual increase of 8.8 million new cases.

The increase in infection is driven in great part by how a warmer world extends the dengue season when mosquitoes are breeding and biting.

So, places that are already warm and wet throughout the year would still be warm and wet throughout the year, but, our computer models predict doom! And this super important, because it is being propagated all over the usual suspects, such as here, here, here, and here. The talking point is all over the place. Once the Cult of Climastrology manufactures a scenario of doom, they aren’t letting go.

If you send me lots of money, I plant a few trees to help stop this.

We could probably get into the history of Dengue Fever, how it originated in Africa and SE Asia, that there are cases reported in China all the way back in the 200’s, that it spread due to people moving around the world and moving stuff that brought mosquito, that the Earth has gone through numerous warm periods warmer today, but, facts are immaterial to what Warmists believe or will listen to.

Quick Note On The Emoticons And Quick Tags

If you’ve enjoyed the special emoticons for the comments, well, you won’t be seeing anything other than the base ones you see right now. The plugin, called WP-Monalisa, will not allow for the uploading of the extra ones I added in, and believe me, I’ve tried. I can’t even deleted the plugin. Maybe things will change during the next update.

More: This update to WordPress has allowed the older quicktags (bold, link, italic, etc) to start working again. Only real big difference is allowing strikeouts, and the ability to use other HTML code to do things like changing the color of the font and such.

Winning: Trump Admin Repeals Rule On States Complying With Auto GHG Mandates

Trump and company certainly have their good points and bad points (much like every administration). One thing you can’t argue with, unless you’re a big government Democrat, is how the Trump admin is reducing the power of the federal government over citizens and states

(Daily Caller) President Donald Trump’s administration repealed a rule forcing states to comply with a policy monitoring greenhouse gas levels from tailpipes of American automobiles.

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) signed a final rule May 22 that eliminates a mandate requiring state agencies to establish emission targets, calculate their progress toward those targets, and determine a plan of action if they failed to make progress during a performance period.

The rule repealed the performance management measure assessing the percent change in tailpipe carbon dioxide emissions on the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) measure. It also measured total annual tons of carbon emissions from all on-road mobile sources.

States and other locals across the country can still pursue similar actions locally. The repeal of the GHG measure does not affect implementation of the other national performance management measures states are responsible for administering.

If states want to piss away the money they forcibly take from their citizens (strange that liberals aren’t willing to just stroke checks to the government for more than their tax burden, eh?), they are welcome to do so. If they want to make all the action plans, they’re welcome to do so. But they aren’t going to be forced to do so.

The original rule was finalized on January 18, 2017, just a few days before Trump took office, so, yet another piece of Obama’s legacy down the tubes.

Selective Outrage: Separating Illegals From Their Kids Makes Writer Physically Ill

This is what you voted for or something, as Rolling Stone’s Jamil Smith offers up some serious selective outrage

Trump’s Separation of Children and Families Is What You Voted For
The shocking immigration and refugee scandal is a symptom of a much larger disease

Ms. L, as the American Civil Liberties Union identified her, is a Congolese woman who sought asylum in the United States last November. She feared imminent death amid the escalating violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo, violence that has displaced millions of residents. I learned about her circumstance reading Rex Huppke’s columns in the Chicago Tribune earlier this year. He wrote about Ms. L because President Trump’s immigration policy separated her from her six-year-old daughter, who ended up in Chicago. Ms. L was in San Diego. Both were essentially incarcerated.

Ms. L was not an undocumented immigrant (true, she was an illegal alien, someone who entered the U.S. without the proper permissions). She arrived in California out of fear for her daughter’s life and her own. She complied with every procedure. Yet despite persuading immigration officials that their plight was real, the two were separated and held by the government – the daughter, “S.S.,” housed in a Chicago Health and Human Services facility while her mother was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, better known as ICE. No reason was given. When the ACLU filed suit to reunite them, Homeland Security argued that there was insufficient proof that Ms. L was the mother, and that there were fears of human trafficking. Only after four months of separation and a DNA test were they finally reunited. S.S. was then seven years old. Her mother had missed her birthday.

I’m not even a parent yet, and her story makes me physically ill. For all the frankness and shock value inherent in American political coverage, so often we avoid calling things as we see them. It is too rash, too ill advised, we are told, to label something with blunt terms, lest we set the conversation askew – or, Heaven forbid, lose access to a certain politician.

There’s a simple solution: don’t allow people to come to the U.S. illegally. Likewise, if people do not want to be separated from their kids, do not come to the U.S. illegally. Problem solved.

This is a presidency that calls for strong language. Trump uses a different brand of speech, a rhetoric dominated by gaslighting and laced with overt appeals to the misplaced cultural resentment of white Americans. The Trump policy of immigrant family separation is evil made flesh. Perhaps there are other words to describe a government doing this to an asylum seeker and her young child – or any immigrant, for that matter – but “evil” would be the most precise.

Evil made flesh! And you voted for it! And the word “evil” is used many times. Though it’s missing when we get all the way to paragraph 15

The United States treating immigrants like garbage is not unique to the Trump administration, as the ACLU proved last week when they released a report detailing a “culture of impunity” within U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Homeland Security that shrugged at physical and emotional abuses within the immigration system. Photos of immigrant children sleeping in fenced cages made their way onto social media. That all happened under Obama, who deported more undocumented immigrants than the three presidents who preceded him combined. Despite Obama’s open compassion for the plight of refugees, there was always a heartlessness in his application of immigration law. That said, he didn’t weaponize the flaws in our immigration system as Trump has.

Funny, it’s almost like Jamil is excusing Obama doing pretty much the same darned thing, perhaps worse, than Trump. And most Democrat voters weren’t particularly concerned about this when the reports were released during Obama’s presidency. Go figure.

We’re Saved: New Lipstick Supports Gun Grabbing

This will surely make all those with illegally possessed firearms, and those who use their guns in an unlawful manner, rethink their positions and turn their firearms in

The Lipstick Lobby Releases New Lipstick to Support Gun Control

A bold lip already makes a statement. Why not have it be a statement about gun control?

The Lipstick Lobby, a beauty brand with a focus on social justice, has just released a new lipstick that aims to raise awareness about gun control. Named Fired Up, the matte creme lipstick is in the burnt orange color that has come to symbolize gun reform. (The Wear Orange campaign urges people to sport the color on June 1; the event was founded after 15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton was killed in Chicago in 2013.) Even better, 100% of proceeds from the $19 lipstick will go to the Brady Center, a nonprofit that advocates for gun control.

In addition to regular models, the campaign gathered mass shooting survivors from Parkland, Sandy Hook, Columbine, and the Pulse Nightclub all in one place to make a statement about gun violence. But the campaign doesn’t stop at smiling photos of people in pretty lipstick. It includes memorable messages written in Fired Up. Columbine survivor Heather Martin displays 4.20.99, the date of the shooting, in a lipstick portrait on her arm. Kris Brown, co-president of the Brady Campaign, has “Background Checks” written on her arms in lipstick. The photos are a reminder that even a lipstick shade can be powerful.

There’y very much worried about kids dying, you know

See?

“At a time when nearly every day we turn on the television we are faced with the horrific images of a community rattled by gun violence, making the decision to stand up with the Brady Center was a no-brainer,” said Davida Hall, founder of The Lipstick Lobby. “While many are using their feet to march and their voices to be heard, we wanted to lend our lips because we’re ready to join the fight for our lives.” Past Lipstick Lobby campaigns include a bright red lipstick named Outrage, with proceeds going to the ACLU, and a fuchsia named Kiss My Pink devoted to Planned Parenthood.

For the kids.

A Friendly Reminder That The Planet Is Melting Or Something

It’s these kinds of unhinged screeds that make it hard to take the Cult of Climastrology seriously

Your friendly reminder the Planet is melting – Last 400 months were all warmer-than-average global temperatures

NOAA just confirmed the last 400 months were all warmer-than-average global temperatures…

For 400 months in a row, our planet has been unusually hot
Our overheating planet just reached another staggering — maybe even astronomical — new milestone.

In a report out Thursday, NOAA confirmed that April was the 400th consecutive month of warmer-than-average global temperatures. The last month cooler than the 20th century average was December 1984, back in the days of big hair and Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”

We’ve come a long way since then. Somehow, though, we’re still debating whether human activity is behind the warmer atmosphere, not to mention what the hell we’re going to do about it.

Either the last 400 months were all an incredible coincidence — we’ll get to that in a second — or something else is going on. I’m thinking it’s the latter.

I’ve rather ignored the pointless silliness on 400 months, something most Skeptics have ignored, a claim involving 33.33 years. It’s a silly argument, and utterly made up. Especially when the same people who are making these prognostications are the ones controlling the data. And you have articles that blow this talking point away, like

Of course, Warmists will say “but, this is just the U.S.!!!!! If we look at temps around the world, it means melting!”

Warnings Australia is in for its coldest winter ON RECORD bringing heavy rain and snowfall – so book your trip to the slopes now

Many places around the world had below average winters. And cooler than normal summers. And not in just 2018. So, there is, statistically, no way that ever single one of those 400 months were above the average, even when said average is typically from 1961 to 1990, a period of cooling (61-78) and warming (79-90). And, even so, we’re only talking about tenths and hundreds of a degree.

And, still no proof of anthropogenic causation.

Say, What’s The Biggest Mistake We’ve Made On ‘Climate Change’ (scam)

Personally, it’s a tough choice between allowing scientists with agenda muck with the data, manufacture data, spin data, and so forth, or not pushing members of the Cult of Climastrology to practice what they preach from the top down. The Sydney Morning Herald’s Ross Gittins has a different idea

The biggest mistake we’ve made on climate change

…..

The biggest mistake we’ve made is to allow our politicians to turn concern about global warming into a party-political issue, and do so merely for their own short-term advantage.

The initial motives may have been short term, but the adverse effects have been lasting. These days, for a Liberal voter to worry about climate change is to be disloyal to their party and give comfort to the enemy.

Apparently, only socialists think their grandkids will have anything to worry about. The right-thinkers among us know the only bad thing our offspring will inherit is Labor’s debt.

Global warming used not to be, shouldn’t be and doesn’t have to stay a right-versus-left issue. In Europe it’s bipartisan. Margaret Thatcher was a vocal fighter for action on climate change, and the Conservative Party is anti-denial to this day.

See, politicizing it is bad, so, hey, let’s politicize it! Thatcher may have originally been a anthropogenic climate change believer, but, as evidence came out, she became a skeptic. Funny how Ross forgets to mention that, eh? Why? Because that wouldn’t fit the Narrative.

Further, Gittins seems to be placing most of the blame on Skeptics, rather than people on the political left (who are really on the right of the political scale, in the Authoritarian models, like Fascism. In theory, Socialism and Communism are to the left, because of the limited roles of government. In practice, way to the right, bigger and strong and more centralized government) who hijacked what might have been actual science to use it to push their hardcore government control policies. This especially happened with the fall of the Soviet Union, and so many of the Commies and Commie lovers invaded and hijacked the environmental movement and started using anthropogenic global warming as their base platform.

And this has been political ever since, so you get things like this

What does she mean by “take on”? So many of her Warmist comrades mean silence, jail, and even murder Skeptics. Does she feel that way? Crazy Uncle Bernie had an official policy during his run for president of “bringing climate deniers to justice.” So, even going well beyond Kamala’s threat of infringing on 1st Amendment rights.

Making the issue political was never a bug: it was a feature.

Say, Did The Trump Admin Really Lose A Bunch Of Illegal Alien Kids?

No. One of the things leftists have been going hog wild over the past few days in regards to illegal immigration (also on kids in cages and prison bus for toddlers, both of which happened under Obama, but they still tried to Blame Trump) is Trump losing 1,500 illegal alien kids, which Is The Worst Thing Ever!!!!!!. In Liberal World, it’s 20 times worse than something like running over 2,500 guns, losing them, and having them be implicated in the shootings up to death of Mexicans, Mexican kids, and US Border Patrol agents. Surprisingly, the NY Times actually pours cold water on this (but, Monday was a holiday, so an actual reporter, probably an intern, did Journalism)

Did the Trump Administration Separate Immigrant Children From Parents and Lose Them?

President Trump over the weekend falsely blamed Democrats for a “horrible law” separating immigrant children from their parents. In fact, his own administration had just announced this policy earlier this month.

His comments followed days of growing alarm that federal authorities have lost track of more than 1,000 immigrant children, mostly from Central America, giving rise to hashtags like #WhereAreTheChildren and claims that children are being ripped from their parents’ arms at the border and then being lost.

But the president is not the only one spreading wrong information. Across social media, there have been confusing reports of what happened to these immigrant children. Here are some answers.

Did the Trump administration separate nearly 1,500 immigrant children from their parents at the border, and then lose track of them?

No. The government did realize last year that it lost track of 1,475 migrant children it had placed with sponsors in the United States, according to testimony before a Senate subcommittee last month. But those children had arrived alone at the Southwest border — without their parents. Most of them are from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala, and were fleeing drug cartels, gang violence and domestic abuse, according to government data.

So, not ripping them from their mother’s breast and placing them with utter strangers and stuff? Huh.

Officials at the Department of Health and Human Services, which oversees refugee resettlement, began making calls last year to determine what had happened to 7,635 children the government had helped place between last October and the end of the year.

From these calls, officials learned that 6,075 children remained with their sponsors. Twenty-eight had run away, five had been removed from the United States and 52 had relocated to live with a nonsponsor. The rest were unaccounted for, giving rise to the 1,475 number. It is possible that some of the adult sponsors simply chose not to respond to the agency.

Surprise! People not responding to calls. Weird, eh? How many calls do you blow off? One has to wonder how many were just bad numbers.

But, wait, it gets better

Losing track of children who arrive at the border alone is not a new phenomenon. A 2016 inspector general report showed that the federal government was able to reach only 84 percent of children it had placed, leaving 4,159 unaccounted for.

So this happened under Obama, and there was no freakout from the Credentialed Media nor Democrats. Anyhow

That’s a good thread to read.
