Gloom And Doom Won’t Help Us Fight ‘Climate Change’ Or Something

Seriously, the Cult of Climastrology doesn’t have much else other than doom and gloom, all in an attempt to institute Modern Socialism. Even when they’re fighting over whether to shame heretics or not, they still push doom and gloom

Why doom and gloom won’t help us fight climate change

The drumbeat of news about climate change and ecological degradation is deeply demoralizing. The earth is indeed in bad shape, and the trends aren’t encouraging. (July, it turns out, was the hottest month recorded since data collection began.)

Yet the big problem with bad news about the environment is that it too easily leads to resignation and then passivity. Consider Paul Kingsnorth, the former British environmental activist who suggests that the magnitude of the “ecocide” we face means that we have to come to terms with the reality that there is no hope. “We are not going to stop this from happening,” he told the New York Times a few years ago. A group of academics and activists recently published a book with an emblematic title: “Mourning Nature.” Small wonder that a series of recent polls have detected many Americans declaring that they’re experiencing “eco-anxiety.” If nature is already too far gone, why go to the trouble of trying to save it?

These people are still nuts

We must take to heart these environmental triumphs and not just fixate on the bad news. Let’s celebrate the recovery of our eastern forests, which after two centuries of decimation have regrown to cloak hundreds of millions of acres of unproductive agricultural land. The air of New York City is substantially better today than it was in the 1950s. The water in the Potomac today is much cleanerthan it was in 1947, when Louis Halle wrote his classic nature book “Spring in Washington.” Some seriously good things have happened to our environment over the past half-century — because human beings took conscious and purposeful action to establish legal and regulatory incentives that changed society’s behavior.

But, those are environmental issues. They have zero to do with anthropogenic climate change.

Only smart collective action, led by courageous people working with intelligent and well-funded organizations and agencies, can mount the necessary effort to keep our Earth from peril. We have won these sorts of battles before, and we can win them again, even if the threats seem larger than ever. With an inoculation of the magic elixir of bountiful nature, we can engage with spirit on behalf of our wildlife and forests, our bays and seas, and our one and only atmosphere. Despair is not an option.

See? We can fix this all with Big Government.

Surprise: Chinese Americans Are Abandoning Democrats Over Socialism Shift

Realistically, this might not make a heck of a difference, since Americans of Chinese descent account for only 1.5% of the population. But, could roughly 4 million effect an election? Since half of them live in NY state and California, no. They could very well influence others to do the same, though

Why Chinese-Americans like me are embracing the GOP

For a century, Chinese Americans have been among the least partisan and politically engaged ethnic Asian groups in America. Because we’ve lived largely in urban and suburban areas in coastal liberal states, we have tended to be affiliated with Democratic Party, even while espousing conservative values.

But over the last few years, I’ve witnessed more of my fellow Chinese-Americans abandoning the Democratic Party and generally becoming more politically conservative. There are several reasons for this, including Chinese Americans’ cultural conservatism and the Democratic Party’s slide toward socialism, which reminds many of us of the communism we fled in China.

The Republican Party is a natural home for Chinese-Americans, who tend to value free enterprise, individual responsibility, law and order, education and family cohesion. Many Chinese-Americans have been alienated by the Democrats’ emphasis on political correctness, social justice, wealth re-distribution and LGBTQ rights.

Chinese-Americans have often been the victims of the identity politics that Democrats have deployed over the last several decades through academia and the media—including the push to institute racial preferences in college admissions, which disproportionately hurts high-achieving Asian-American students.

Over the last decade or two, America has seen a strong inflow of immigrants from mainland China who came in search of freedom and better educational opportunities. Recent arrivals are beneficiaries of China’s economic boom, and they are more likely to favor individual liberty, limited government and low taxes. As Chinese-Americans have succeeded, they have become more conservative.

You could very much see this happening with other Americans of Asian descent, especially new-comers.

This has accelerated since the Obama presidency, as the Democratic Party has embraced messaging that advocates for socialist policies. These messages used to be subtle and thinly veiled; but now Democrats are more overt in their support for socialist policies such as the Green New Deal, 70 percent tax rates and single-payer, government-run health care.

Socialism and communism have repeatedly failed, resulting in death and suffering for hundreds of millions of people over just the past seventy years. It is a recurring cancer in modern history with examples in North Korea, Cuba and Venezuela. Even China’s success in lifting hundreds of millions of people out of poverty was due in large part to its implementation of some capitalist reforms. But yet, the Chinese government continues to repress the Chinese people’s basic political and human rights. Like Cubans and Vietnamese, most Chinese arrived in America having had extremely negative experiences with socialism.

The author, Benjamin Yu, is an immigrant from mainland China (and went through the lawful process), running for California’s state assembly

2020 is shaping up to be a pivot point in America, a time of choosing between socialism and the capitalist polices that for decades have made America the envy of the world. For this reason, many Chinese-Americans, including me, are running for office as Republicans. We lived through socialism in an extreme form and understand the devastation and misery it causes. We believe we are the ideal candidates to stop socialism and bring generations of voters into an inclusive and diverse GOP.

Who better to know about the dangers than those who lived under it? Perhaps the GOP should enlist some folks who came from Venezuela to highlight this even more.

Bummer: Warmist Jay Inslee May Not Qualify For ‘Climate Change’ Town Hall

This really is a minor story, but, it gave me a good laugh, because, let’s face it, Jay Inslee based his whole campaign on Hotcoldwetdry, and it has really gone nowhere. He attempted to shift about a month and a half ago to say that he has other policies, but, too late. Because people may say they Care about Doing Something about man-caused climate change in theory, but, in reality, not so much. Axios (hence the strange format) notes

Jay Inslee unlikely to qualify for CNN’s climate change town hall

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee, who has centered his 2020 campaign around climate change policy, was not one of the nine Democratic presidential candidates who qualified for an invite to CNN’s climate change town hall in September.

Why it matters: Several polls point to climate change as a top issue for Democratic voters, but Inslee, whose proposals and debate appearances have been focused on severing the U.S. from fossil fuel dependency, is still polling around 1%.

  • CNN said it would extend invitations to candidates who reach 2% in at least four DNC-approved polls conducted between June 28 and Aug. 21. Candidates have until Wednesday to qualify for the Sept. 4 town hall, so it means Inslee will likely end up being locked out.

So, the one Democrat whose whole focus is on ‘climate change’ will be locked out? These are the nutters who’ve qualified

  • Former Vice President Joe Biden
  • Sen. Cory Booker (N.J.)
  • South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg
  • Sen. Amy Klobuchar (Minn.)
  • Former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (Texas)
  • Sen. Bernie Sanders (Vt.)
  • Sen. Elizabeth Warren (Mass.)
  • Andrew Yang
  • Worth noting: Sen. Kamala Harris (Calif.) was invited, but declined due to a scheduling conflict.

Think about it: Andrew Yang, the guy most Americans will say “who?”, qualified, yet, a governor of a U.S. state can’t cut it? I’m guessing ‘climate change’ doesn’t actually matter.

Jew/Israel Hater Ilhan Omar Wants U.S. To Reconsider Aid To Israel

Hey, Democrats, you own this anti-Israel and anti-Jew behavior, since you mostly refuse to shut it down. Notice that Ilhan isn’t calling for reconsidering aid to the Palestinians, who just banned LGBTQ groups in the West Bank, nor to nations with hardcore Islamists.

Omar says US should reconsider aid to Israel

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) said Monday that U.S. aid to Israel should be tied to its treatment of Palestinians, questioning whether the funds should continue after the country blocked her and Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) from visiting in an official capacity.

Omar had planned to travel with Tlaib to Israel this month until the Israeli government announced last week that it would deny them both entry, citing their past criticism.

Omar and Tlaib, the first two Muslim women elected to Congress, held a joint press conference on Monday to denounce that decision, which came after President Trump tweeted that it would show “great weakness” for Israel to allow the two lawmakers into the country.

Omar suggested that lawmakers reconsider the annual U.S. aid allocated to Israel in response.

“We give Israel more than $3 [billion] in aid every year. This is predicated on them being an important ally in the region and the only democracy in the Middle East. But denying a visit to duly elected members of Congress is not consistent with being an ally, and denying millions of people freedom of movement or expression or self-determination is not consistent with being a democracy,” Omar said at the press conference in St. Paul, Minn.

You’d almost want to assign the waaaaa-mbulance to her, because she got her feewings hurt, but, let’s be real, she despises Jews and Israel, and she was banned due to that. Neither she nor fellow Jew hater Rashida Tlaib have said just why they were banned, which is their belief in the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement, which was founded on and based on the destruction of Israel as a nation, and rests on a bed of Jew hatred.

Other Dems have decided to stroll down this road

Mark Pocan (D-Wis), a co-chairman of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, also said that lawmakers should reconsider visits and aid to Israel in response.

“No more members of Congress, no delegations, should be going to Israel unless this decision is reversed. And I think we’re going to have to have some serious conversations even about financial support,” Pocan told The Hill.

Democrats can yammer all they want about raaaaacism and white nationalism, but, they are owning the generic anti-Semitism, which is simply hatred of Jewish people.

No Democratic Candidate Has Offered A Bold Plan For ‘Climate Change’ Or Something

This is one hell of a hot-take from the hardcores at Down To Earth

2020 US elections: No Democrat candidate offers bold plan for climate action

Election Day is more than a year away, but the race among Democrats in the US to take back the White House is heating up. While the field consists of about 20 presidential hopefuls, the ones leading the polls are former vice president Joe Biden and senators Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders and Kamala Harris. These four standard-bearers represent a party, which unlike President Donald Trump and his Republican Party, is known for climate-friendly policies.

A number of polls suggest that Democrat voters also consider climate change to be a top-tier issue, as important as healthcare. For a majority of world leaders, these presidential candidates are the last hope to make the US, the biggest carbon polluter in history, stay committed to the 2015 Paris Agreement on climate change mitigation. But are they taking it seriously?

Of course, when real issues are included, and we get to the general election, caring about doing something about ‘climate change’ drops to the end. And, again, most Americans refuse to pay more than $10 a month to solve Hotcoldwetdry.

But this embrace of GND does not automatically make the Democrats’ proposals ambitious. Consider this. While advocating that global emissions will have to hit net-zero by 2050 to stay below the global warming threshold of 1.5°C, GND does not recognise the fact that the US, being a massive historic polluter, should aim at a net zero carbon economy well before 2050.

Jay Inslee, who is often referred to as “climate candidate” for the Democrat nomination (who now polls at just 2 per cent), recognises this gap and advocates a 2045 target for net-zero emissions. But none of the leading candidates have voiced their opinion about it.

Essentially, this is saying that Biden, Harris, Warren, and Comrade Bernie’s plans are way too weak. Seriously, have you read them? They may not be quite as far out as Jay Inslee, who is so low in reality that he doesn’t appear in the Real Clear Politics numbers (nor most other polls, and 44% have never heard of him), but, they are way out there. They’re all nuts. But, hey, at least Bernie isn’t calling to “bring deniers to justice” like in 2016. Yet.

And this all shows just how crazy the Cult of Climastrology is.

Surprise: Lawmakers Are Dropping More F-Bombs Than Ever

The funny thing here is that The Hill tries to make this a bipartisan thing, when, really, it is primarily Democrats losing their minds, mostly because of Trump Derangement Syndrome

F-bombs away: Why lawmakers are cursing now more than ever

For lawmakers and political candidates, 2019 could be the year of not giving a f— about cursing.

Profanity — once considered a major no-no among those seeking public office — is no longer an earth-shattering political snafu. And according to new research, this year could be on track to see members of Congress swearing up a storm more than ever before.

In analysis conducted exclusively for ITK, GovPredict, a government relations software company, found that the frequency of lawmakers using words that might make one’s grandmother blush has increased steadily since 2014.

President Trump and several of the candidates seeking to replace him next year — including Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Cory Booker (D-N.J.) — have used impassioned swear words to make their points recently. Sanders responded to a debate comment about “Medicare for All” last month by saying that he “wrote the damn bill,” and Trump used the word “hell” at least half a dozen times at a Thursday night rally.

GovPredict’s data shows that obscene language not including the words “shit” and “f—” has been used at an all-time high by politicians, with 1,225 instances on Twitter so far this year compared to 833 in 2018.

Well, using damn isn’t such a big damned bill.

But these days, look no further than countless congressional social media accounts and political rallies for R-rated language.

Earlier this month, while talking to reporters, former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-Texas), a 2020 White House hopeful, dropped an F-bomb while expressing his seeming frustration with the media. After being asked by a reporter about what Trump could do in response to a mass shooting in El Paso, Texas, O’Rourke said, “He’s been calling Mexican immigrants rapists and criminals. Members of the press, what the f—?”

Booker also used less than flowery language after Trump blamed, in part, video games for the recent gun violence.

“Listening to the president. Such a bullshit soup of ineffective words,” Booker said in a text message shared by his campaign manager on Twitter.

Booker made a similar statement in May in a CNN interview while speaking about gun control: “We are not going to give thoughts and prayers, which to me is just bullshit. I’m sorry to say that as a man of faith, but I was taught that faith without works is dead.”

In early August, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) urged Americans to call on their representatives to ban assault weapons, writing on Twitter, “Demand the Members of Congress get rid of ALL assault weapons or kick our ass out of Congress!”

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) made headlines in January when she exclaimed to a cheering crowd about Trump, “We’re gonna go in and impeach the motherf—er.” She later responded to critics by tweeting, “I will always speak truth to power. #unapologeticallyMe.”

Funny how most examples are from a Democrat. So, are you ready for who’s to blame?

Some critics of the boost in blasphemous words point to the president as the source of the current coarse political tone. A New York Times story in May detailing Trump’s long history with cussing in public dubbed him the “profanity president.” In a speech that same month, Trump said “bullshit” multiple times, one of several instances of foul language spoken by the commander in chief at rallies, in interviews, on Twitter and in private — including infamously referring derisively to “shithole countries.”

Of course, it’s all Trump’s fault

Next Up On Cult Of Climastrology List: Creating A National Food Strategy

Why do most policy proposals and such from the Cult always result in more Government control over our lives and the economy? Why do they restrict out choice and freedom? Anyhow, who’s this “we” stuff?

Theresa Villiers : If we really want to fight climate change we need a national food strategy

When it comes to food, we are surrounded by an abundance that our ancestors could only have dreamed of.

One of my new colleagues at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) spoke about a farmer who described how, when he was a boy in the 1940s, his father had wept as he tore out his hedges to put more land under the plough as his contribution to the heroic efforts that fed this country.

Like millions who know hunger around the world today, their generation valued food as something so precious it should never be wasted.

Today, our food and drink sector employs one in eight of us, contributing more than £122bn to the UK economy, and exporting over £22.6bn of high-quality, high-welfare products prized by over 200 countries worldwide.

Yet amid such abundance, something has gone very wrong. As individuals, our demise is more likely to be hastened by our own poor food choices than the infectious diseases that brought down our forefathers. As a society, we have seen how poor land use can damage our country’s natural wealth. There is also growing concern about the amount of food which is wasted.

Somehow, this is all related to man-caused climate change, you know. Because the CoC interjects itself into everything. Because it isn’t about science, but politics

There has never been a better time for fresh thinking about the whole food system, from field to fork. That is why we have launched the first major review in 75 years, ably led by entrepreneur Henry Dimbleby, to inform a national food strategy that will guide efforts across government.

Huh. More government

Scientists’ warnings, such as the recent devastating reports from the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services and Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, could not be clearer. Only a few months ago we saw the results of the most comprehensive assessment yet of the state of nature. It told us that up to a million species are facing extinction. In my lifetime, populations of animals, on average, have more than halved – a mere blink of an eye in evolutionary terms. This is not just a biodiversity issue; it is a human issue.

We have no choice but to tackle climate change and biodiversity loss, or risk not only losing untold wonders of the natural world, but plunging whole regions into desperate poverty. Central to that is the need to rethink our relationship to land-use.

How’d Theresa Villiers, secretary of state for environment, food and rural affairs, get there? Because all Warmists are nuts, and they have to drag it into everything.

I want to ensure that our food system at home complements our efforts to ensure sustainable food security for the 9 billion people who will share this planet by 2030. This country can lead the way as we head into a year of international negotiations that will define global ambition for biodiversity, climate change, and our oceans.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, Government telling you what you can eat and when, limiting what you can eat, telling farmers what they can grow. Surprise? You used to get gubmint officials advocating for mission creep for the sake of mission creep. Now they do it for Hotcoldwetdry.

Palestinian Authority Bans All LGBTQ Activities In West Bank, Rashida Tlaib, Rest Of The Squad Is Silent

Where are all the pro-Palestinian (terrorist) supporters now? Why aren’t they denouncing this? Israel, which they hate, doesn’t ban LGBTQ

Remember, the West Bank is where Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib wanted to visit and demonize Israel. From the article

The Palestinian Authority banned members of the Palestinian Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) community from carrying out any activities in the West Bank.

The ban came after the grassroots group Al-Qaws for Sexual & Gender Diversity in Palestinian Society (Arabic for “the bow”), which engages and supports Palestinians who identify as LGBTQ, was planning to hold a gathering for its members in Nablus at the end of the month. The group operates both in the West Bank and among Arab-Israelis.

Earlier this month, Al-Qaws held an event in Nablus about sexual and gender diversity in Palestinian society. The PA police, however, learned about the event only days after it was held.

Al-Qaws is a civil society organization established in 2001 with the goal of “fighting for vibrant Palestinian cultural and social change, building LGBTQ communities and promoting new ideas about the role of gender and sexual diversity in political activism, civil society institutions, media, and everyday life.”

Explaining the decision to ban the LGBTQ group from operating in PA-controlled areas, Luay Zreikat, spokesperson for the PA Police, said that such activities are “harmful to the higher values and ideals of Palestinian society.”

Still waiting for the Israel haters to call for a boycott of the West Bank. Heck, some of them even mentioning this would be nice, because most are utterly ignoring the ban. It’s not in the NY Times, Washington Post, LA Times, NBC, CBS, or ABC News. Or the hardcore lefty websites.

The PA police will chase those behind the LGBTQ group and see to it that they are brought to trial once they are arrested, Zreikat warned. He further appealed to Palestinians to report to the police about any person connected to the group.

Anyone Democrat running for president have a comment? Will Rashida and the Squad boycott?
