Winnie The Pooh is in da house! Yesterday, it was reported that Obama’s advisers were saying that if Osama was captured, he should be given access to US courts. Now we get Obama: U.S. should avoid making bin Laden a martyr
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama says if Osama bin Laden is captured alive, the United States should bring him to justice but in a way that avoids turning the al Qaeda leader into a martyr.
Could the Missiah tell us how to do that? Could someone in the Credentialed Media show some cajones and ask him the tough questions when he pontificates?
But Obama linked McCain’s national security approach to that of President George W. Bush, calling it “disastrous” and citing the failure to capture bin Laden as evidence of the failure.
“The record shows that George Bush and John McCain have been weak on terrorism,” Obama told reporters. “Their approach has failed. Because of their policies, we are less safe, less respected, and less able to lead the world.”
Uh huh. And the last terrorist attack on US soil was…….? The last anti-terrorism measure Obama supported was…..? How about the last one he offered up in the Senate….?Â
As far as the respected crap, this seems to be super duper important to liberals, which, last time I checked, was not part of the Presidential oath of office. Protecting the USA is.
It is also kind of hard to lead when we have Democrats knocking everything President Bush has done when trying to fight international terrorism.
“I think what would be important would be for us to deal with him in a way that allows the entire world to understand the murderous acts that he’s engaged in and not to make him into a martyr,” he added. “And to assure that the United States government is abiding by basic conventions that would strengthen our hand in the broader battle against terrorism.”
Huh? No, seriously, huh? What the hell does that mean? My interpretation is that Obama is going to offer terrorists worldwide the full protections of the US Constitution and courts system. Will we have to read them Miranda Rights before capturing or killing them?
“I refuse to be lectured on national security by people who are responsible for the most disastrous set of foreign policy decisions in the recent history of the United States,” Obama said.
In other words, this is yet another subject that we are not allowed to discuss with Obama. I can understand how he feels that way, since he has never been to Afghanistan, and rarely attends either the Foreign Relations or Homeland Security committee meetings. Hell, even former State Dept. flunky Joe Wilson thinks little about Obama’s foreign policy BS. How sad is that?
“The people who were responsible for murdering 3,000 Americans on 9/11 have not been brought to justice,” he said. “They are Osama bin Laden, al Qaeda and their sponsors — the Taliban.”
Obama has been whining about Club Gitmo lately. Who they hell does he think are sitting around in the cells?
Sound bites are easy: having the record to back it up? Non-existent.
PS: Michelle M. has a bunch of photoshops regarding Obama’s Pooh Policy. Usually, I would be the first to create one, but, no need. The real one above is perfect.
