Iraq Ready For “Civil War”

I believe that this will be the third civil war in Iraq over the last year, as proclaimed by the media.

IRAQ is bracing itself for another surge of violence tomorrow, when Saddam Hussein is expected to be sentenced to death for crimes against humanity.

Iraq’s national security adviser, Mowaffak al-Rubaie, told The Times that the central provinces of Baghdad, Diyala and Salahaddin would be placed under curfew. “There are more security measures under consideration,” he added.

The trial, which started a year ago, aimed to heal Iraq’s wounds after Saddam and his Baath party’s 35-year regime. Instead, it has become a symbol of Iraq’s divisions, between the long-oppressed Shia majority, who now rule the country, and Saddam’s Sunnis. Clashes between them tomorrow could push Iraq over the edge.

Looks more like they are hoping for a civil war then anything else.

This should illustrate the difference between the Democrats/progressives/liberals/surrender monkeys worldwide and Republicans/Conservatives. Those on the Left have been cheering on the "insurgency," which comprises people who were Saddam followers, ie, complicit with murder, rape, mutilation, advanced torture, etc, along with Muslims from other countries, there to kill Americans.

The Republicans cheer for those who want freedom and justice. Saddam is about to get his justice, and those who complain about it will have shown themselves to be enemies of liberty for oppressed and abused peoples.

John Lillipop has his thoughts on this over at Basil's Blog.

If Hussein were, in fact, convicted in an Iraqi court by Iraqi judges and prosecutors, instant credibility would be added to the Bush argument and the president's decision to invade Iraq in 2003.
