Narrative Fail: Most Greek Wildfires Started By Arsonists

Well, huh, you don’t say

Most fires in Greece were started ‘by human hand’, government says

Most of the 667 fires that have erupted across Greece in recent weeks were started “by human hand”, the country’s senior climate crisis official has said.

As the Mediterranean country emerges from an unprecedented, 15-day period of heatwave-induced infernos, the scale of the destruction is finally being laid bare.

While weather conditions have been different from any other year – with experts calling the first three weeks of July the hottest on record – most of the fires could have been prevented, the government claimed on Friday.

Vassilis Kikilias, the Greek minister of climate crisis and civil protection, told reporters: “During this time 667 fires erupted, that is more than 60 fires a day, almost all over the country. Unfortunately, the majority were ignited by human hand, either by criminal negligence or intent.

So, people were causing them, either intentionally or unintentionally. Obviously, the climate cultists are attempting to make this the fault of ‘climate change’ even with this knowledge, just like they attempted to make it all Your Fault before having any knowledge

He added: “The difference with other years were the weather conditions. Climate change, which yielded a historic and unprecedented heatwave, is here. There were very few days where the extreme weather was not combined with strong winds.”

So, let’s say it was a cool year. People still set the fires. A slight uptick in the global temperatures over 170 years is meaningless, except in Cult World. Heatwaves happen, and have always happened. There were massive heatwaves in the 1930’s. But, now there’s more buildings and infrastructure. There are more eco-loons who stop government from creating fire breaks and wilderness management, from clearing out dead brush.

The next three paragraphs of the article are on ‘climate change’, with the final two being rather important information on people killed by the arson, and people fleeing the arson. But, that information is unimportant to the cult.

William Teach: So, let’s say it was a cool year. People still set the fires.

A 1°C increase in temperature increases likely burn area by about 20-25%.

  2. H says:

The 1930s were NOT massively hot globally
They were unusually here in the United States, but not globally.
Mistakes like that indicate that you are still trying to cherry pick your ,”facts”

johnnie boy: The 1930s were NOT massively hot globally…

Where did Teach make his “mistake”?

You’re as pathetic as Rimjob in the reading and comprehension department.

      Bwaha! Lolgf

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Deepthroat displays his pathetic reading and comprehension skills again!

      Dear H:

On one hand you say that the heat of the 30’s, caused by CO2 created by ICE, etc., didn’t cause world wide climate change.

On the other hand you claim that in today’s world CO2 created ICE, etc., causes world wide climate change.

      Which is it???

Discussing the weather is a pleasant enough past time. Arguing about the weather is futile. Worshiping and paying homage to the weather is insane. Lying about the weather is PROFITABLE! Take out the profit and the weather goes back to being the purview of good old reliable “Mother Nature”. “Mother Nature” is going to be the last and only word anyway…

  4. Elwood P. Dowd says:

Teach keeps repeating this straw man “argument”.

Who is making the argument that global warming is starting fires?

Global warming increases the spread of wildfires and may increase the likelihood (dry tinder is more inflammable than damp tinder).

  5. Jl says:

    Except wildfires aren’t increasing..

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Perhaps phzoe could give an update after these 2.5 years.

Where was this peer reviewed and published?

  6. Deepsouthpaul says:

It gets hot in the summer and cold in the winter. All else is BS!

  7. Jl says:

Is there some reason her “peers” couldn’t review it where it’s published now? No, there’s not. Actually more people can see it on a blog than behind a potential paywall on a paper. It could easily confirmed or taken apart the day it’s published. All her NASA data can be referenced by anyone and she provides the computer code to do it. As far as an updated version, I don’t know, but remember even during the time frame that she references, there were still claims of “wildfires” are worsening” when in reality they were not

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

One climate scientist does take her on in comments, but she bobs and weaves, finally insulting him when she’s trapped.

Real scientists haven’t the time to review every Tom, Dick and Zoe’s blog, that’s why there’s a publication system.

phzoe is free to type whatever they wish. Experts are free to ignore the rants.

      • drowningpuppies says:

Yeah, we’ll just have to take your um… “word” for it.
        Thanks, chubby.

        Bwaha! Lolgf

      • Jl says: there something in there where you, or anyone refutes her data? No.
Funny-“takes her on…”. Her? The data is from NASA
And yes, “experts” usually do ignore things they can’t refute …

        • Elwood P. Dowd says:

The conclusions belong to phzoe and a commenter refuted her argument.

          • drowningpuppies says:

And Rimjob repeats his earlier nonsensical comment. As usual that’s all he has,

            Bwaha! Lolgf
