Brandon Admin Planning On Fall Push For Chinese Coronavirus Vaccination

Didn’t Biden say he was “going to shut down the virus, not the economy”? I’m guess he failed on both

White House effort to stave off fall COVID surge with new boosters faces uphill battle

The White House is rushing ahead to roll out a new COVID-19 booster shot campaign in early September, but is facing an uphill battle to ensure it is successful.

The vaccines being used in the campaign are the first ones that have been manufactured to specifically target the subvariants of omicron that are currently causing the most infections, and administration officials have indicated they’re preparing to start offering the shots shortly after Labor Day.

Immunity from the initial round of vaccines is waning and health officials said they want to ensure the public is protected as much as possible against another wave of infections in the fall and winter. Right now, close to 450 Americans are dying every day from the virus, and there’s concern the numbers could rise as people move indoors.

Both Pfizer and Moderna have asked the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for emergency use authorization for booster shots that target the omicron BA.4 and BA.5 subvariants. Pfizer’s vaccine will be for everyone aged 12 and older, while Moderna’s will be meant just for adults aged 18 and older.

Administration officials say these new vaccines will be key to controlling a potential fall surge, but they will need to convince an increasingly checked-out public to get the shots.

Most citizens are checked out, except for the mask cultists. Granted, some are truly concerned and wear a mask correctly to safeguard their own health. COVID doesn’t get mentioned much in the news, few talk about it, most just want to go on with their lives. Some, like me, take small measures. I try and avoid touching, and wash my hands a lot (which I did before COVID), and try and keep my distance. But, the thing is, why should we take it seriously at this point?

If this video was taken within the last couple of days, why is Jill out and about? She tested positive in a rebound case. She initially tested positive on August 16th, finally had a few negative tests, then positive again. She and Joe seem rather easy going and carefree about the whole thing, eh?

How dare US President Biden recommend the tRump Vaccine for the tRump Plague?? DonJon advocated for and supported the development of the Vaccines, which have reduced the damage wrought by his Plague. Good on you, DonJon!! Good on you.

But still, every day approx 500 Americans die from the tRump Plague. Of course, these are mostly older folks and those with other comorbidities but we can thank the tRump Vaccines for saving lives and tweaking down the hysteria. Thanks DonJon!! Over 1 million Americans have died from Covid but a recent study estimates that Vaccines saved 20 million souls worldwide. That’s millions of foreigners that owe their lives, in part, to tRump!

BTW, President Biden’s latest approval was 45%. tRump, the greatest US president evuh, had his highest at 49%.

We’ve reached the point at which there’s virtually no difference between being vaccinated or not. The public know this, and that’s why there’s no surge of people rushing out to get another booster.

Both Pfizer and Moderna have asked the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for emergency use authorization for booster shots that target the omicron BA.4 and BA.5 subvariants.

Translation: the vaccines have not gone through the FDA’s normal testing requirements, not that they could have, given that we’ve only seen BA.4 and BA.5 for about six months. But while a small percentage of BA.4 and BA.5 victims do go early to their eternal rewards, the same is true with influenza, and people know that as well; most people don’t bother with getting flu vaccines, either.

It’s simple: BA.4 and BA.5 are nowhere close to as serious as the fearmongers wanted us to believe. The Editorial Board of The Washington Post opined, The worst virus variant just arrived. The pandemic is not over.

The pandemic is a relentless race against Mother Nature. Waves of infection took millions of lives, and only highly effective vaccines prevented even more deaths. Now, the coronavirus is speeding up once again, mutating, evading immunity and still on the march. The arrival of subvariant BA.5 should be a reminder that the finish line in this race is nowhere to be seen.

What’s BA.5? This is the latest subvariant of omicron, which stormed the planet late last year and caused a huge wave of infection. As of now, BA.5 and a closely related variant, BA.4, account for about 70 percent of all infections in the United States, according to estimates by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, based in part on modeling. These two newcomers are easing out an earlier variant, BA.2.

The obscure names should not hide the punch of BA.5. Eric Topol, professor of molecular medicine at Scripps Research, says that BA.5 “is the worst version of the virus that we’ve seen.” He adds, “It takes immune escape, already extensive, to the next level, and, as a function of that, enhanced transmissibility,” well beyond earlier versions of omicron. There has not been a marked increase in hospitalizations and deaths, he reports, because there is so much immunity built up from the winter omicron wave. But there are aspects of this new variant very much worth keeping an eye on as the United States remains stuck at an uncomfortably high plateau of pandemic misery. And the new variants are driving a case surge in Europe.

At the core of the BA.5 difference is its biology. Evolution has given it more fitness, a term that incorporates its ability to transmit, grow and evade immunity; the variant shows “marked difference from all prior variants,” reports Dr. Topol. One way it does so is by evading the body’s immune system, and BA.4 and BA.5 together are “the most immune-evasive variants” seen in multiple studies to date.

Have the Editorial Board inspired much fear yet? But, oops, even they admitted, in the very next paragraph:

Whether BA.5 will lead to more severe disease isn’t clear yet. But knowing that the virus is spreading should reinforce the need for the familiar mitigation measures: high-quality face masks, better air filtration and ventilation, and avoiding exposure in crowded indoor spaces.

The Editorial Board know that what Glenn Greenwald wrote is true: the government needs fear to exercise more dictatorial control!

Today is back to school day in D.C. The Mayor of DC is requiring all students to be vaccinated against COVIDS, but not other actual childhood diseases. Problem: 40% of DC school ages children are unvaxed, especially in those communities that are “underserved by education”. And virtual learning is no longer being offered. Then the mayor announces, with a totally straight face, students will have until January to get vaxed. I understand the needs for the schools to get warm butts back into seats because that is what the federal funding is based on. But why keep demanding a vax that is known to be unsafe and ineffective for children who are at exceedingly low risk? This is beyond unfathomable.

  3. L'Roy White says:

As Mrs. White and I sat on the stoop sipping brews this weekend we were impressed by the sounds of Lagos on the Delaware. And just like the real Lagos in Nigeria the natives were out in force to celebrate the weekend. As the gun shots echoed through the houses, abandoned, boarded up or inhabited the melodic voices of screaming black women smashed the ear with profanity after profanity some directed at their delinquent offspring but most at their ne’re-do-well baby daddies gathered at the corners where they can smoke their dope imported by biden’s illegals in near proximity to the corner bar for a quick tokay my sister in-law joined us.

Soon a heated political argument began where she was bitching about the “cheating” republicans fixing the election. She was so crazy and just plain wrong she sounded like Mr. Elwood. Then she bitched about crime for five minutes until I looked at her and told her the crime statistics. Then “the riots” as we call them and I asked who burned down the buildings, torched the businesses, looted the stores, shot the businessmen and the cops and raped the women? She looked puzzled. I pointed out that all those people she saw rioting. Every single one of them. All the looters and smash and grabbers were BLACK GHETTO DEMOCRATS.

She went home and I went back to enjoying the sounds if Lagos in summer.

It must be relaxing to live in the dream world of professional democrats like Elwood and my sister in law. They burn down cities but when we protest its an insurrection.

    • Professor Hale says:

      L’Roy,
Thanks for your comments. I would advise patience and charity when dealing with your relatives. They didn’t get that way overnight and it will be a long and painful process for them to change, if ever. If everyone they know and respect tells them the world is one way, it takes a supreme act of courage and discernment to even question the common narrative. Sadly, the vast majority of people are not up to that challenge.

    • The Liberal but not libertarian Elwood P. Dowd says:

      L’Roy,

Are you claiming the tRump-instigated insurrection was a protest against BLM, rather than an attempt to stop the peaceful transfer of power for which the United States of America is a beacon? Interesting take.

Do you believe that Lagos is violent because there are so many Africans there?

And do you believe the drug trade started with President Biden? Interesting take. Of course, recreational marijuana is legal in NJ.

Your sister-in-law is right that violent crime in impoverished urban areas is a real problem. Surely she wasn’t suggesting that white thugs were coming to Camden to commit mayhem. So what is your solution? Higher local taxes to support the police? Higher pay and better training for police? Higher taxes to improve the schools? More guns means lower crime, so more guns? More quality jobs in Camden?

Men of a certain age, like you and I, grew up differently than kids today. Before 24 hr TV and social media, work = a living, but for the past few decades kids have been inundated with the “good life”, rich Kardashians with no means of support, trust fund babies, rich YouTubers, rappers, investment billionaires, “education and hard work are a waste!”

    And the conspiracies continue…

It takes 15 to 20 flu seasons to equal the dead Americans from Covid. It’s not the flu.

How do new viral variants emerge – from unchecked spread in human or animal reservoir populations. We’ve lucky with SARS-CoV-2 that the new variants, while more infective, appear to be less deadly (although the vaccines and previously infected have also decreased the severity of disease). There’s no guarantee that that will always be the case.

We get it. As they have previously, connie/trumpists want to discourage further vaccinations (but will get boosted themselves).

As an old man I will get the new vaccine booster and recommend that others with comorbidities do likewise.

Anyway, Covid is not a problem until you or someone you love dies from it.
