Bummer: Few Are Mentioning Climate Crisis (scam) In Midterms Ads

Well, yeah. First, because Americans are paying a whole lot more for everything, including food. Microwave meals, like Stouffers and Lean Cuisine, are up almost a dollar from last year. I pay almost a dollar more for a head of lettuce. Lidl stopped having their own brand of eggs recently, which were just over a dollar for 12. Now, the other egg supplier is $2.50 for 12. Lots of other things are, obviously, up. On the bright side, two of the 3 ice cream makers I like are not. The other is up $2 a half gallon. Second, people care about Doing Something about ‘climate change’ is popular in theory, not in practice, and people do not want to hear how the Government is going to force them to comply. Would Dems really think this is a winning campaign strategy, yammering about Doom?

Despite dire warnings, climate change getting few mentions in midterm campaign ads

In a recent campaign ad, Morgan McGarvey, Kentucky’s Senate minority leader who is running for a U.S. House seat, vows to “take real action on climate change” if elected.

But despite constant reminders about the worsening impacts of climate change, the Kentucky Democrat appears to be a rarity in this year’s congressional midterm elections.

A review by Spectrum News of 126 television and online video ads found just eight, or just 6.3%, that referenced climate change. All but one mention came from Democrats, with the lone Republican being Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski.

The ads that were reviewed were all from different candidates — half from Republicans, half from Democrats. The ads included a mix of both incumbents and candidates who don’t currently occupy the offices they’re seeking.

They were chosen at random other than to ensure balance between the two major parties and that candidates from all 50 states were represented. The review did not include ads placed by political action committees, which are barred from coordinating with candidates about messaging.

I would love to ask any candidate yammering about Doing Something about ‘climate change’ what they’ve done in their own lives. Stopped using fossil fueled travel themselves?

“It is frustrating because climate change is happening right now, and people are feeling the impacts of it,” Anusha Narayanan, climate campaign manager for Greenpeace USA, said of the lack of attention the issue is receiving in midterm campaigns. “In this moment, we’re seeing extreme heat waves that people have experienced throughout the country this summer. And it’s heartbreaking to see the impacts of the flooding events in Kentucky and how people’s lives are getting impacted.”

You know what, mind your f’ing business. Stop trying to make everyone else conform with your cultish beliefs.

There were 10 other issues that were cited more often than climate change in the ads reviewed. Abortion was the most-mentioned issue overall (19%), as well as among Democrats. Inflation/gas prices (17.4%) was No. 2. And immigration/border security (16.7%) was third — all coming from Republicans, who mentioned that issue more than any other.

Health care/prescription drug prices, guns, jobs/unions, the COVID-19 pandemic response, government spending/taxes, former President Donald Trump and education also were mentioned more than climate change.

Because people do not care in practice.

Proper editing would have it read “Because Of A Long History Of Dire Warnings About Doom That Haven’t Come True, climate change getting few mentions in midterm campaign ads” but it was too long.

Teach this inflation appears to be almost universal and global
Do you feel that Biden should be held personally responsible for Germany and the UK also having inflation identical to the USA ? Was any of this inflation caused by the increase in cost of fossil fuels? Do you think Biden should prohibit or tax export of fossil fuels?

    • James Lewis says:

Hairy, the base cause of this inflation is the price of gasoline and die

The Leftie’s caused that. Biden is just the President who did their biding.

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

        James,

How did the all-powerful, yet demented septuagenarian Biden raise gasoline prices worldwide?

In our neck of the woods, gasoline prices at the pump dropped significantly in July. It’s as low as $3.11/gal for regular, down from $5.00, and still dropping. Thanks, President Biden!!

By removing most all American production from the market and refusing to admit the error.

“It’s as low as $3.11/gal for regular, down from $5.00, and still dropping. Thanks, President Biden!!”

In my neck of the woods it’s $3.75. So we should be grateful he took us from $2.09 last year to $3.75 now? FU stupid!

BTW, selling off the Strategic Reserve is not a smart way to reduce prices. Even temporarily as you will see this little dip is. It’s a stupid move made by a senile rapist and lauded by ignorant leftist morons.

          Lock the pedo up!

An unreasonable conmenter repeats winger disinformation that President Biden gutted US crude oil production.

Crude oil production in the US dropped some 20% in early 2020 well before the election. It has risen slowly since, under trump and President Biden.

          Gasoline

        • James Lewis says:

          Dear Elwood:

Petroleum products are priced on the expectation of (availability) shortages. Study the crash of ’08 when the Democrats rejected drilling increases and the prices went sky high…. yet when Bush opened off shore areas, July 5, the prices collapsed.

Crude oil prices started rising steadily in Jan 2002 ($20/bbl) until Jan 2008 ($136/bbl). By Jan 2009 it had plummeted to $41/bbl – blame the Great Recession. From that trough it rose to around $100/bbl by Jun 2014. By Feb 2016 it was back down to $33/bbl. It rose and hovered around $60/bbl until the sharp drop in April 2020 to about $20/bbl. And started a steady rise to about $120/bbl. It was $40/bbl by Aug, $75/bbl by Dec 2021.

The truth is, price largely depends on how much oil OPEC+ decides to pump.

The US was producing at capacity when the Covid recession hit. US production dropped some 20% to match reduced global demand. The US (note that Alaska is part of the US) production has been slowly recovering.

  3. Dana says:

When Americans are worried about how to buy the things they need every single day — food, fuel, electricity, and the mortgage or rent — they seem less concerned about what might happen in fifty or a hundred years from now.

The warmunists changed the name from global warming to climate change when most people weren’t buying the notion that cold weather was evidence of warming, and then they changed the term climate change to climate emergency, because most people weren’t that concerned about climate change, and they needed to propagandize it more strongly. But what they missed was that global warming climate change emergency was only an issue for those who had little else about which to worry.

If your income and wealth are pretty secure, if you have money to waste spend on a lot of luxuries, you not only have the time to spend worrying about global warming climate change emergency, but you have the extra money to not fret too much about the increased costs you will bear if global warming climate change emergency legislation increases your taxes and other costs, then you can much more easily support global warming climate change emergency legislation than people who are less well off financially. This is why the distinguished Mr Dowd, who has told us that he is well-off financially, can advocate this stuff, or the Hirsute One, who has told us that he is retired and won’t buy the plug-in electric vehicle he supports for others because he anticipates keeping his current car until he goes to his eternal reward.

The politicians? They recognize the obvious: they need the votes of people who have less money than Mr Dowd, who have more worries than the Hirsute One. That’s why even those who want to impose draconian expenses on the people to fight global warming climate change emergency don’t want to say too much about it on the campaign trail. And those are the people conservatives need to expose, to let the people know just what the f(ornicate) they would do once they are in office.

  4. L.G.Brandon!, L.G.Brandon! says:

Or we could concentrate on learning how to steal elections more effectively than leftists do. Regardless of how hard the people vote, even if they vote really, really hard the left will employ every means available legal, honest or not to win. By any means necessary, remember? You thought they were kidding. America is now under the control of a state junta. The CDC can lock down your business, the EPA can forfeit your land, the NIH can deny you employment, the IRS can seize your assets and bank account and attach your income…even your Social Security and they are armed to the teeth and adding 87,000 more enforcers. The news is slanted, the media all pro left, the social media is a ball of pro communist censorship, businesses, schools, sports are all run according to leftist ideology.

How long do you want to wait till you’re willing to grab your walkers, climb aboard your electric wheelchairs, hop on those scooters and limp holding your Hurricanes and march to Washington DC in mass and really throw the fear of Freedom in their faces? How long before we post Panther style “poll watchers” at the polls during fake elections? When are we gonna put together small reactionary groups to give the left the Maxine Waters treatment? When will the RNC start nuisance suing every leftist and leftist organization in America like they do us? When are we gonna publish their addresses, their parents addresses and start protesting at their homes and employment? How about hiring a few PI’s to dig up shit on these people THEN PUBLISH IT?

The longer we wait the bloodier this counter revolution will be. They gain strength and use our money to do it while we discuss the subjects THEY chose to discuss.

Screw the pedo. Lock him up and his grifter kid too!

  5. Elwood P. Dowd says:

The reasonable Mr Dana: When Americans are worried about how to buy the things they need every single day — food, fuel, electricity, and the mortgage or rent — they seem less concerned about what might happen in fifty or a hundred years from now.

    It is always so!

Mr Dana, as is his wont, then proceeds to tread less stable ground by claiming only the well-to-do or comfortable are worried about global warming! That is obviously untrue but is a political strategy to promote class warfare. Just because folks worry more about food prices doesn’t mean they are unconcerned about global warming. Today, my backache is taking my attention but I still support efforts to slow global warming.

And yes, politicians of all stripes recognize they have to get elected to make a difference. In primaries here in MO, conservative candidates are climbing over their conservative opponents to be the most extreme. One would believe CRT, abortion, trans women in sports, and brown immigrants are the greatest threats to America! The primary winners will soften somewhat in the Nov elections.

Forgot to add that one of my important concerns is the disappearance of manual transmissions in cars and trucks.

      • James Lewis says:

        Dear Elwood:

Actually the modern automatic transmissions are more efficient than using the stick shift.

        • Elwood P. Dowd says:

          James,

I’m talking about the joy of driving! Plus no one wants to steal a stick shift.
