Research Shows Phrase “Climate Change” Not Popular

Over at Grist, Warmist Tony Davis discusses “framing” the climate change hoax in different manners to meet ones audience, depending on political leanings. Of course, he forgets the most important thing…..you know what I’m going to write, right?….which is Warmists walking the talk. Practicing what they preach. Funny how Warmists almost never touch that one.

Anyhow, lots of stuff I could fisk, but, let’s focus on this

But a separate 2011 survey by Yale researcher Anthony Leiserowitz and some colleagues offers hope for climate change advocates. As long as climate change was not mentioned in the questions, respondents showed wide, bipartisan support for measures that many experts say could lead to significant reductions in greenhouse-gas emissions. Majorities of Democrats, Republicans, independents, and even Tea Party members, for instance, supported more money for research into renewable energy sources, and tax rebates for people who buy energy efficient vehicles and solar panels. Majorities of all but Tea Party members supported requiring utilities to produce at least 20 percent of their electricity from renewable energy, even if household electric bills rose $100 a year.

I’ve said many times that I support renewable/alternative energy, especially if it is cleaner than current types, and is at least at the same price. If it is more expensive, no thanks. Most people I know, even ones who are further to the Right, believe the same. There is nothing wrong with this. There is nothing wrong with buying products which are more energy efficient. But, to do it for a fake issue, anthropogenic global warming, is silly.

Leiserowitz’s surveys also found strong bipartisan support for attacking global warming on local fronts — again with measures that weren’t called global warming fixes. They include requiring new homes to be more energy-efficient, building more bike paths, and increasing transit service. Independent voters also joined Democrats in supporting changing zoning rules to promote energy-efficient apartment buildings, mixed-use neighborhoods to encourage walking, and decreasing urban sprawl. Majorities of Democrats, independents, and Republicans also said it’s important to protect local water supplies, sewer systems, public health, agriculture, forests, wildlife, and coastlines from global warming.

There’s nothing wrong with protecting those things, though I am against any government requirements for new or existing homes. We should do what we can to protect the environment, and when they drop the globull warming talk, people follow along. Most people are smart enough to realize that the emails saying you have money waiting in Nigeria are a scam. Same with AGW. By linking AGW to everything, they are guaranteed to fail. Which ends up hurting real environmental issues.

See I have a huge problem with this. I would like to see the questionaire and the results.

Read closely……the implication is that global warming IS IN FACT HAPPENING and

We need to be protected from it.

This is something I posted about a few weeks back. The AGW crowd is repackaging their brand and are attempting the “ASSUMED CLOSE” in sales parlance that means we just assume you are going to buy and so we begin talking as if you have already taken ownership.

This is what the AGW crowd is doing and this is exactly what this aspect of this post is doing……..

He is ASSUMING Global Warming is happening and hence we all need to be protected from it.

Watch them very carefully…..this is exactly how they dictated the narrative about the Iraq war for 6 years until the Right and BUSH were defeated…….

They assumed that the war was bad, was going badly and everything that happened was a “SEE” moment.

Do not let them dictate the narrative or we will all be driving cars with 100 foot windmills on the hood by Xmas.

Without Subsidies, mandates and import protection none of the “alternative energies” can even begin to compete with fossil fuels on costs or efficiencies. This whole movement as well as the zoning etc. are just part of a grander plot to control us. Making personal transportation prohibitively expensive herds people into cities then public transport controls where one can go. The environmental movement has been hijacked by Bolshevism. Solar and wind, electric and hybrid cars requires massive quantities of rare earth metals and as mined and processed by China is an environmental holocaust. Environmentalists my ass.
