Awwwww, look, the sweet cluebat of reality wacked Waxman upside the head
Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Henry Waxman, D-Calif., has canceled a hearing intended to grill CEOs who took a charge against profits because of the health care reform bill.
The cancellation came after they realized what everyone already knew – that the companies were required to do what they did because of accounting rules. Waxman and others had reacted with outrage and accused the companies of doing it – in essence, to make health care reform look bad.
Someone within the Democrat party apparently alerted Waxman to the fact that this hearing would expose to the American People just how costly and damaging ObamaCare actually is, and that the Democrats, no matter how much they attempted to bloviate and pontificate during the hearing, would look really, really bad.
“House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, responded to the cancellation saying, “House Democrats canceled this hearing because they don’t want to give America’s employers a forum to tell the public how President Obama’s new health care law is already hurting our economy and hampering job creation. Chairman Waxman thought he could intimidate businesses into keeping quiet about this new job-killing health care law, but when they called his bluff by continuing to speak out, he chose to pull the plug,” Boehner said in a statement.
“With 9.7 percent unemployment and Americans asking ‘where are the jobs?,’ Washington Democrats can’t hide from their job-killing agenda. The nation’s employers and small businesses will continue to alert the public to the impact of this job-killing health care law, and when they do, Congress should listen and heed their concerns, not try to interrogate and intimidate them. Now that Chairman Waxman has canceled this hearing, he should direct his efforts towards canceling this job-killing health care law altogether.”
Democrats do not care about jobs or the economy. They only care about power and control, and those of you out there who support the Democrat agenda as it stands today are, to put it mildly, massively deluded and idiotic, as you support the destruction of your future and that of your descendants.

Did you see the supreme court nominee, Marisa Demeo? Yup, she’s a great candidate for Change. Changing the official language that is.

I don’t know if this is a good thing or not.
We all would have liked to see the CEO’s of these companies stand in front of this committee and give the committee members the beating of their political lives.
That wouldn’t have happened because Congress would have targeted those companies in other ways. (So much for “truth to power.”
But it would have been great to see the CEO’s stand there and say “we took the accounting action based on the law YOU voted for Senator.”
Or, “we did this legally in response to the health care law you voted for Senator.”
That would have made some great soundbites. (Although I doubt if the main stream media would have carried them.)
It would have been great to see.
I suppose gitarcarver is correct, but at the lightning speed with which this administration and its cronies are fundamentally changing my country, I could use some “quiet time”…
