Climate Change Causes 315,000 Deaths A Year

Oh, really?

Climate change kills about 315,000 people a year through hunger, sickness and weather disasters, and the annual death toll is expected to rise to half a million by 2030, a report said on Friday.

The study, commissioned by the Geneva-based Global Humanitarian Forum (GHF), estimates that climate change seriously affects 325 million people every year, a number that will more than double in 20 years to 10 percent of the world’s population (now about 6.7 billion).

But, of course, they mean that man made global warming is the culprit, not the mostly natural process that is occurring in reality. But, without the hysteria, who would listen and donate?

Consider that this is always going to happen. People will be affected by the climate, especially when it changes. Think about what happened to the Vikings and their new agricultural society in Greenland when the climate changed from a very warm one to a much cooler one in the Little Ice Age. Oh, and how about the reported 75 million or so people killed during the Black Death, which occurred as the climate shifted during the same time the Greenland Vikings were wiped out?

The climate will always cause hardship for some. And make other folks lives better. Such is life. Suck it up and deal with it. Stop inventing problems, and work to help on others.

I do find it interesting that the same Global Humanitarian Forum, led by Kofi Annan (who looked the other way as the United Nations he headed allowed massive sex and drugs parties, which included underage females, allowed massive sexual harrasment inside the United Nations, treated a terrorist by the name of Yassar Arafat like a rock star, and looked the other way while the Oil For Food scandal was happening, then tried to sweep it under the rug, not to mention being criticized for his failure during the genocide in Rwanda) worries and tries to scare-monger this issue, but, mentions little about deaths from malaria and other insect born diseases, which

Scientists working with the World Health Organisation say they have found the first evidence of resistance to the world’s most effective anti-malaria drugs.

There are approximately 1 million deaths per year from malaria alone, most in 3rd world countries that could drastically reduce those deaths, and sicknesses, if only they weren’t threatened with aid reduction if they use DDT, a miracle pesticide. Why doesn’t the GHF worry about things like that? Perhaps because pushing to save people through use of DDT is not something that will get the 1st world people off their butts to make donations, before they get in their limo’s to go to the private jet which will take them to an exotic vacation spot.

I’m reading a book called Green Hell. It frightens me how manipulative these folks are, and how long it’s been going on.
I hate global warming theorists and loony environmentalists. They lie to further their agenda, and we the people are not supposed ot question their science.

They want to change the way everyone lives, without regard to whether it will even work, and how it will effect the poor and middle class. Your Al Gores will survive this crap just fine thank you. Now he’s made billions of dollars off of his scheme he should live quite comfortably after the government, at the behest of nutjobs, changes how we do just about everything.

  3. I’ll have to check that one out, Trish.

Another great one is Climate Confusion, by Roy Spencer.

  4. John Ryan says:

Actually the use of mosquito nets would reduce deaths from malaria more than DDT. Fortunately that liberal Bill Gates is donating 100s of millions to reduce the problem of malaria. Overall about 10 million children die each year primarily because of malnutrition and bad water. Let’s hope that Obama can find some money to satisfy the liberL do gooders on that front

Teach to what do you think is causing the global warming ? Both volcanic and solar activity are at lows It keeps getting warmer when 2 of the normal reasons for warming are at century lows. ??? sorta strange isn’t it.

  8. Trish says:

Nets alone cannot prevent Malaria, especially if they are not treated with insecticide.
And no amount of nice, liberal and rich contributors will erase the need for using insecticides on the breeding grounds of mosquitoes, in the countries that are most effected.
Greenies are basically pro-genocide because their misguided philosophy dictates they will not allow people to use the means needed to protect the poor from disease, famine and droughts. (IRE)

xactly i do not expect obots to understand that

  10. To add on to what Trish wrote, are these folks in 3rd world nations supposed to wander around all day wearing nets, John?
