OK, new theme time. What do you think? Seems to be working fine in IE and Firefox, some issues with the main index pages in Opera (not on single posts though.) I’ll work that later. So, like this one, or the previous one? I’ve got the old one live at my test site, for the moment, if you want to compare.
I’ve tried to use a more readable font, and made it so that the font changer works better and has a wider range. It will only affect writing in posts. The sidebar is wider then normal, allows for some interesting changes, and the sidebar graphic changes randomly between 5 different images.
As far as the plugin goes, if you have WP-2.7 and higher, you need WP-Optimize badly. The #1 reason is that it can clean up all those post revisions that build up, creating quite a bit of bytes in your SQL. It can also optimize your database. I am using it about once every week or two. Get it.
Movies. First one up, Marley and Me. If you haven’t seen this one yet, damn, excellent. The movie really captures the spirit of the book, which is about life. The laughter, the sadness, the triumphs, all bound together in the form of an uncontrollable dog and the family he is bound to. And, no matter how tough you are, be prepared to get choked up and leak some tears during the last 20 minutes or so. It is un-a-void-a-ble. Period. Deal with it. Enjoy a dog who had a great life, and definitely listen to the last little bit.
I usually do not like Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston movies, but, they did a great job bringing the real life characters to life. Go rent it. Give it an A.
The Day The Earth Stood Still. Ppppttttttfffffft! some spoilers below.
I am SO SO SO glad I did not see that piece of garbage in the movies. It started well, but, then, the space whateverthehellitis lands, and, at the least, knocks a bunch of people who happen to be hanging in the middle of Central Park in the night time who aren’t criminals (WTF?) including a mother with a baby, ass over teakettle.
OK, so, they are here because we are mean and nasty and destructive, and they come down like that? And now they are going to kill all humans and their civilization because we are mean and nasty and destructive and ruining the Earth, because there are only a few life supporting planets out there? Seem rather hypocritical, consider the little bio-engineered swarm of bugs they release are killing humans, and leaving a major mess which would screw with the biosphere, eh? Then, because one kid misses his dad who was in the Army and killed in a war, and step-mom (the ever hot Jennifer Connelly who appears fully clothed, not even a shot in her skivvies. WTF is up with that?) hugs the little crumb cruncher, the alien decides to save the Earth now because we can “change.” This wouldn’t even be a 50’s B monster movie. If you can rent it cheap, maybe. Otherwise, D.
