Have you heard about Kelly George? No? Goodness
Miss Arkansas USA wears combat boots … literally. And she couldn’t be more proud of the fact.
But the 24-year-old U.S. Air Force second lieutenant looks just as comfortable in a pair of heels and an elegant evening gown. (snip)
George is now stationed at the Little Rock Air Force Base, where she oversees 22 airmen in the base’s media relations office. Her boss, Capt. Dave Faggard, said the publicity from her Miss Arkansas USA crown has been a boon for the base, yet has not affected day-to-day operations. (snip)
Faggard was there with his wife to witness George’s crowning as Miss Arkansas USA in October 2006.
“I’ve never followed all of that pageant stuff, but I was not that surprised, because of the kind of person she is,” he said. “She has so much going for her. She shoots weapons and crawls through the mud. She’s not the typical pageant girl.”
Kelly is now going to compete in the Miss USA pagent, and seems to be a fantastic representative for the Air Force and the US military. I thought about searching for a swimsuit picture, then said, "nope, doesn't fit in with the purpose of the post."
