I Thought Job Growth Was Bad Under Bush?

Or, so the liberal talking points say. Facts, as they say, trump feelings, otherwise know as unhinged liberal doctrine

HARRISBURG, Pa., Jan. 22 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Governor Edward G. Rendell said today that Pennsylvania added 10,300 jobs in December, the largest one-month job gain in 2006 and the third straight year the state has added 50,000 or more jobs.

"Our long-term job growth is encouraging," Governor Rendell said. "December was the eighth time in the last 70 months when the commonwealth has added 10,000 or more jobs in one month. The performance helped to make 2006 a record-setting year in Pennsylvania. The state's economy has experienced a net gain of more than 162,000 jobs since January 2003."

Pennsylvania's unemployment rate(1) is 1.1 percentage points below January 2003 when the rate was 5.7 percent. The state's unemployment rate was 4.6 percent in December.

Yes, yes, I know, the Doctrines will show that the job growth has nothing to do with President Bush's policies, particularly the tax cuts, but with some other forces, probably at the State level. Maybe it was abortion on demand, which meant that there were less people competing for the jobs.
