1 Billion Don’t Protest Bush In India

Earlier in the day, as well as yesterday, the Exempt Media was extolling the virtues of the “tens of thousands” that were protesting the impending George Bush visit to India. Now, that information is relegated to the middle to last third of most stories. Guess it wasn’t that big a deal

At Wednesday’s protest in central New Delhi, tens of thousands of people, many of them Muslim, chanted “Death to Bush!” and waved placards reading, “Bully Bush, Go Home.” Muslims in India’s part of Kashmir also protested the Bush visit.

Yes, extremists who are part of India’s violent underculture. Meanwhile, India has a population of 1.08 billion (CIA July 2005 estimate.) Guess the others who weren’t part of the “tens of thousands (would that be 10, 20 thou?)” went about their normal non seething lives.

Yeah, I noticed I could actually understand the tech support rep who answered my call yesteday. Guess Habeeb had better things to do, like burning some raspberry Danish in the streets…

  2. Your right in a way. Most Indians don’t care. But yeah, the people who are against his visit are free to protest. It’s just that Indian protests are a little noisy.
