Kerry solicits the negative

Not that there is anything unusual about that. We all remember his negativity pre-election regarding the Iraq and Afghanistan operations. Now, John "big weenie" Kerry is soliciting negative stories from the families of US soldiers. The wonderful Lori Byrd at Polipundit (via Instapundit) had a reader email her an email from Kerry (he’s a Senator, in case you didn’t know) asking for stories of troops families, and, if you read it, you will see that it is looking for ones that reflect badly on the military and the Bush administration.

The email states that one can go here to leave a story. And the same Polipundit reader also included part of his/her reply to Kerry:

Dear John,

I’d like to share the story of my son’s service in Iraq. However, first, can I ask…won’t you share YOUR story by signing the SF-180 form to release your military records?

Indeed. Now, Lori and Vodkapundit have pretty much stated most of what I was thinking when I read the story, so I shan’t add to what they have already stated. However, I do have two other thoughts.

First, open the Kerry solicitation site. Notice what it says in the explorer box? Kids First. So, once again we have a politician and a Dem using kids for their own nefarious means.

Second, let me quote the first two paragraphs of the letter from Kerry:

There is a contentious foreign policy debate going on in the Senate this week. It concerns the Bush administration’s insistence on advancing the careers of John Bolton and others who have failed to make our nation as safe and secure as it should be.

To me, it makes little sense to stand up for those who have not made our nation safer and more secure. But what should be beyond debate is the need for America to fully honor its commitment to those who do make America safer and more secure every day – the men and women of our military.

What we have is Kerry trying to link Bolton and Bush to any negatives that might be happening with military families. Rather then addressing this issue in an adult, meaningful way, Kerry takes, as Democrats are so want to do these days, the low road. Rather then looking for positive solutions, he looks for cheap political points to make good with the moonbat segment. We all know that any material he receives will be used as political fodder, not as any way to improve the plight of military families. And, consider that this email would mostly have gone out to Democratic supporters who signed up to recieve "Kerry mail." I tooketh me name off the liste, due to way to many asking for money.

That, and being banned from his forum three times.

I think I might have to use that site of Kerry’s to send him a link to Form 180 every Tuesday.

Vodkapundit and Ankle Biting Pundits have more.
