According to local authorities, the Triangle area (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill) has seen and influx of the Mara Salvatrucha, otherwise know as MS-13. This is the gang that Newsweek called "the most dangerous gang in America." From WRAL:
Three dozen confirmed MS-13 members have been arrested in North Carolina and will be deported. Almost all of the confirmed gang members were arrested in the Triangle area, said Tom O’Connell, resident agent-in-charge of the Cary office of the Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Raleigh police linked the gang to Jan. 9 shooting deaths of two men in downtown Raleigh. Two of the four men arrested and charged with murder for the shooting are members of MS-13.
“We have made contact with MS-13 gang members,” said Lt. A.C. Davis, who supervises the Raleigh Police Department’s six-member gang unit.
This certainly speaks towards locking the borders down, particularly those with Mexico. But, now that there is a group, the Minuteman Project, many on the Left no longer want to support closing the borders, something which they clamored for as an alternative towards letting the terrorists come to us in Iraq. They wanted to play defense, instead of offense. But now, cannot have people in the Arizona deserts watching out for illegals crossing the border. Let’s let them all in.

It would serve the interests of the general American population if US citizens put an immediate stop to the plans of groups like those of the paranoid Minutemen vigilantes. These people do not represent the large majority of sane and healthy Americans. The Minutemen are racists, bigots and xenophobes and are operating out of hate for Mexicans. They are endangering the peace and their actions will surely lead to consequences we will all eventually regret. (emphasis mine)
Standard Left wing rhetoric. Bring out the R and B words. And "endangering the peace?" The only ones who are endangering the peace are those that stand in the way of keeping illegals out of our country. Miss Star has issues with the government saying that Al Q, as she puts it, can use the US-Mexican border as an easy crossing point. It’s all fake, according to her.
Of course, as usual, she, like most on the Left, has no plan. She offers no alternative. The Minuteman Project has been peaceful so far, no blood painting the desert. It has also been fruitful.
But those poor children! The gang members just need something to occupy their time. Maybe we could start a basketball team for $10.3 million for them. They could play at night. Then they won’t murder people. They had rough childhoods, you know, crossing the border in hot trucks.
