AP lying

So the AP flat out made up the line about people booing when President Bush talked about President Clinton being on “our thoughts and prayers.” If it was real, why did the sentence disappear from the news blurb? Bush’s audience of thousands in West Allis, Wis., booed. Bush did nothing to stop them.Todays redone story. See the Captains Quarters and Powerline for more. Captain Ed also has a list of contacts for the Associated Press. Here is a direct link to the AP’s contact page. Let them know what you think about this travesty. Spinning is one thing. Not great, but, it is part of the news now. But flat out making it up? No.

Quick update. Let the media butt covering begin

From WRAL: The Associated Press originally reported that the mention of Clinton’s name brought boos from the crowd, but the AP retracted the report citing uncertainties about how to characterize the crowd’s reaction.

News14 doesn’t have even the original story. Nor could I find anything at the News and Observer.
