Hey, I wonder if we can get Gavin Newsom behind the movement to repeal the 17th Amendment and a return to the 10th Amendment in full?

California says Trump’s deployment of National Guard violates state sovereignty

California is suing to reverse President Donald Trump’s deployment of the National Guard to Los Angeles, arguing that the use of the military to suppress immigration protests is an illegal and unconstitutional intrusion on state authority.

Trump’s deployment of as many as 4,000 National Guard troops has sapped the state of crucial emergency resources and came without consultation with Gov. Gavin Newsom, according to the 22-page lawsuit, filed Monday afternoon in federal court in San Francisco.

Though Trump initially declared his intent to send 2,000 troops to L.A., both the lawsuit and Newsom himself suggested he had revealed plans to double that number to 4,000. And just before the lawsuit was filed, Trump ordered 700 Marines to L.A. to support the Guard troops.

The absence of consultation, California’s attorneys say, makes Trump’s deployment unlawful. The lawsuit echoes Newsom’s comments earlier Monday in an interview with POLITICO.

“There was no communication through our office, period, full stop. So, by definition, it’s an illegal act,” Newsom, a Democrat, said, adding that the president failed to meet other key prerequisites for the deployment.

Well, you know that Gavin is going to find a friendly liberal judge to rule in his favor, then it is going to have to go through appeals and such, and, by that time, ICE will have concluded their operations. I wonder, though, where were all these sovereignty folks when Biden was jamming all sorts of restrictions on COVID down our throats? And other things?

A White House spokesperson said the California governor should thank Trump “for restoring law and order.”

“Gavin Newsom should march back to his Attorney General’s office to prosecute the anti-ICE rioters who burned property and looted businesses in Los Angeles. It’s pathetic that Newsom is more focused on saving face than protecting law enforcement and holding criminals accountable,” White House spokesperson Anna Kelly said.

The best part is that these are Democrats burning and destroying Democrat stuff in a Democrat city.

Bummer: Federal Cuts May Cause Problems With Maine’s Climate (scam) Efforts

Federal cuts may hurt Maine’s ability to meet climate goals, scientists say

Scientists and fishermen are eager to learn more about a sudden cooling in the deep waters of the Gulf of Maine, a new mystery in a body of water as well known in global science circles for its rapid warming as it is among foodies for its lobsters, oysters and scallops.

That will be hard to do under a proposed federal budget that cuts funds for a national ocean monitoring system.

“People are talking (about the cooling). Is this a reset?” asked Susie Arnold, a marine scientist with the Island Institute in Rockland. “Well, what do you use to find that out? You look at the buoys. Those are one of the primary tools that we use to understand oceanography in the Gulf of Maine.”

Arnold was referring to a network of floating research stations that monitor currents, temperature and other data points used by scientists to track changes in the gulf.

She is one of about 40 scientists who advise the Maine Climate Council, the state-appointed commission that develops the state climate action plan, Maine Won’t Wait. The scientists provide the raw science behind the plan, documenting the effects of climate change and projecting future sea level rise and warming.

And these scientists are worried, both about the coming changes in climate and their ability to study them. And they believe recent federal budget and staffing cuts may prevent Maine from achieving its climate goals, including those set in the November update to Maine Won’t Wait but also those already codified in state law.

How about they tax Maine residents who voted for this, let them pay.

Members of the council’s scientific and technical subcommittee, which Arnold co-chairs, met Thursday to talk about writing a new report on both the evolving science, including the Gulf of Maine’s new deep water cooling trend, and the changed political landscape. They decided to write an update to last year’s plan by April.

They cited more than a dozen at-risk or eliminated federally run or funded scientific programs, ranging from an environmental justice screening tool that Maine uses to help identify socially vulnerable communities to coastal zone management grants that help communities prepare and bounce back from climate challenges like flooding.

I’ve been told that elections have consequences. Spend your own money.

Scientists stunned after detecting unexpected shift in Antarctic Ice Sheet: ‘A historic turnaround’

Scientists have observed an encouraging trend in growth in the Antarctic Ice Sheet but remain cautious about the climate’s future.

A study published in Science China Earth Sciences found that the AIS had a record-breaking gain in mass between 2021 and 2023, most likely due to a pattern of unusual precipitation, per a report from KTVU.

“[The study] found that between 2011 and 2020, the AIS was losing ice at a rate of 142 gigatons per year,” the outlet stated. “But between 2021 and 2023, the trend reversed, with the ice sheet gaining approximately 108 gigatons per year — a historic turnaround.”

Surprisingly, they do not blame this on global heating. I’m sure they will get around to it.

Now Gavin Newsom Threatens To Sue Trump Admin Over National Guard Deployment

This should be interesting. Will it happen? How will Gavin explain that ICE was doing their job and that Democrats have stated that immigration is a federal issue, and that the citizens of the People’s Republik of California were rioting?

Newsom says California will sue Trump over National Guard, dares Homan to arrest him

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) said California will sue the Trump administration on Monday over its deployment of the National Guard to quell Los Angeles protests against federal immigration raids.

In an interview Sunday evening on MSNBC, Newsom said the lawsuit would challenge Trump’s federalizing of the California National Guard without the state’s consent, a move with little precedent in U.S. history.

“Donald Trump has created the conditions you see on your TV tonight. He’s exacerbated the conditions. He’s, you know, lit the proverbial match. He’s putting fuel on this fire, ever since he announced he was taking over the National Guard — an illegal act, an immoral act, an unconstitutional act,” Newsom said on MSNBC.

“And we’re going to test that theory with a lawsuit tomorrow,” he added.

As Gavin looked the other way as Californians…well, many were flying Mexican flags, arrested these people

(Fox News) Rolando Veneracion-Enriquez, 55, of the Philippines, has a criminal history that includes a burglary in Ontario, California, for which he was sentenced to four years in prison, and sexual penetration with a foreign object with force and assault with intent to commit rape in the city of Pomona, for which he was sentenced to 37 years in prison. He was arrested on Saturday and served a notice to appear.

Armando Ordaz, 44, of Mexico, was arrested on Friday. He is an alleged active gang member of Bratz 13 who has a criminal history that includes sexual battery in Los Angeles, landing him a sentence of 135 days in jail and five years probation. He was also sentenced to 90 days in jail and three years probation for receiving known or stolen property in Norwalk and sentenced to 365 days in jail and four years probation for petty theft in Los Angeles.

Delfino Aguilar-Martinez, 51, of Mexico, was arrested on Friday and served a notice to appear. His criminal history includes assault with a deadly weapon with great bodily injury in Los Angeles, and he was sentenced to a year in jail.

Lionel Sanchez-Laguna, 55, of Mexico, was arrested on Tuesday. He has a criminal history in the city of Orange that includes being sentenced to 365 days in jail for discharging a firearm at an inhabited dwelling and vehicle, being sentenced to four years probation for battery on a spouse or cohabitant, being sentenced to four years probation for willful cruelty to a child, being sentenced to 10 days in jail for driving under the influence, being sentenced to three years behind bars for assault with a semi-automatic firearm and being sentenced to three years behind bars for personal use of a firearm.

Just a smattering

White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson said in a statement to NewsNation that “President Trump rightfully stepped in to restore law and order because of Gavin Newsom’s feckless leadership and his refusal to stop the violent attacks on American law enforcement.”

“It’s a bald-faced lie for Newsom to claim there was no problem in Los Angeles before President Trump got involved,” Jackson added. “Everyone saw the chaos, violence, and lawlessness – unless, of course, Gavin Newsom doesn’t think any of that is a problem.”

We all saw it. There was video. Live video. Did no one show Gavin?

IDF Boards St. Greta’s Fossil Fueled Sailboat

IDF boards Greta Thunberg’s ‘Madleen’ as it heads toward Israel

The IDF had boarded the Gaza Freedom Flotilla, Madleen, the ship’s operators said on Telegram early Monday morning at around 3 a.m., with everyone on board reportedly arrested.

The IDF had previously estimated that the flotilla would arrive in Israeli territory an hour earlier.

The Madleen’s official tracker showed the ship edging closer to the Gaza coastline. The IDF’s naval unit, Shayetet 13, has already begun training for the ship’s boarding.

At 1:17 a.m., the flotilla’s Telegram account reported that alarms sounded on the ship, and life jackets were being prepared. The activists on board include Greta Thunberg, European lawmaker Rima Hassan, and Game of Thrones actor Liam Cunningham. (snip)

Because the ship is entering waters under Israeli jurisdiction, it necessitates a response by the Israeli Navy. The vessel left a week ago from the city of Catania in Sicily. The IDF has stated that it would intercept the vessel before it reaches Gaza. The activists on board reported that they would attempt to livestream the IDF’s takeover of the vessel.

Defense Minister Israel Katz also clarified that Israel will prevent the ship’s entry into Gaza. The IDF has completed its final preparations in recent hours to prevent the vessel from reaching the shores of Gaza.

“Greta the antisemite and her friends, I say clearly: you’d better turn back – because you will not reach Gaza,” he said.

St. Greta switched from being a climate cult leader into a world class Jew hater.

I’ve yet to see a video with the sailboat using its sails. Also, their flotilla sailed motored right past some Sudanese refugees fleeing an actual genocide and offered no help.

Could Newsom And Bass Face Charges Over Illegal Alien Supporting Riots?

Trump’s border czar threatens arrest for immigration interference, warns Newsom and Bass not to ‘cross that line’

The Trump administration’s “border czar” warned that immigration enforcement will continue “every day” in Los Angeles, hinting that even elected officials could face arrest if they interfere with agents on the ground.

Tom Homan appeared undeterred by the volatile protests against federal agents in Los Angeles who were carrying out immigration raids. Enforcement will be daily, he said late Saturday in an interview.

Is “volatile” the new word for “mostly peaceful”?

“I’m telling you what, we’re going to keep enforcing law every day in L.A.,” Homan said. “Every day in L.A., we’re going to enforce immigration law. I don’t care if they like it or not.”

Homan has previously threatened arrest for anyone who obstructs immigration enforcement. When asked whether that would include Newsom or Bass, Homan did not rule it out.

“I’ll say it about anybody,” Homan said. “You cross that line, it’s a felony to knowingly harbor and conceal an illegal alien. It’s a felony to impede law enforcement doing their job.”

He did not accuse any politician of impeding enforcement, and when asked about Bass specifically, he said that he doesn’t believe “she’s crossed the line yet.” A spokesperson for Bass did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Well, it’s not really much, and he was baited. But, if either step out of line, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Trump DOJ files charges. Maybe a good perp walk for the cameras.

“The rhetoric keeps rising and rising and rising — someone’s gonna get hurt,” Homan said. “If this violence isn’t tamped down, someone’s gonna die, and that’s just that’s just a cold fact of life.”

Volatile.

Oh Good, National Guard To Be Deployed After Anti-ICE Riots, Those Involved Will Be Identified

Is this a mostly peaceful but fiery demonstration? Or, a case of “no one is above the law”?

National Guard to be deployed in Los Angeles County as anti-ICE protests rage: border czar Tom Homan

The National Guard will be deployed to Los Angeles County after anti-ICE protests continued to escalate Saturday afternoon, Trump administration border czar Tom Homan told Fox News Saturday.

On Saturday, tear gas was deployed near Home Depot in Paramount, California, where ICE agents were allegedly conducting a raid.

Following the raid, a violent protest broke out and several arrests were made for assault on a federal agent.

In an interview with Fox News’ “The Big Weekend Show,” Homan said authorities are “stepping up” and “mobiliz[ing] to address violence and destruction occurring near raid locations where demonstrators are gathering.

“American people, this is about enforcing the law, and again, we’re not going to apologize for doing it,” Homan said.

I wonder if the illegal alien supporting nuballs realize that DHS can use exactly the same methods to identify those involved and arrest them as the Biden admin did with the J6ers?

(LA Times) “ICE has brought their terror tactics and masked agents to #Paramount this morning — in my district,” wrote U.S. Rep Nanette D. Barragán, whose district includes Paramount, in a post on X. “This is unacceptable. We will demand answers and accountability. For those out there – please stay safe, protest peacefully, and KNOW YOUR RIGHTS.”

Has Nan read the Constitution, particularly that part about stopping foreign invasion, a duty of the Congress?

“Multiple arrests have already been made for obstructing our operations,” FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino said on X. “More are coming. We are pouring through the videos for more perpetrators. You bring chaos, and we’ll bring handcuffs.”

Well, oops! I guess there are going to a bunch of people rounded up using those same J6 tactics. Except, these charges will be for, in a lot of cases, felonies.

NASA Climate (scam) Scientists Whine About Trump Dismantling Climate Lab

NASA scientists describe ‘absolute sh*tshow’ at agency as Trump budget seeks to dismantle top US climate lab

NASA scientists are in a state of anxious limbo after the Trump administration proposed a budget that would eliminate one of the United States’ top climate labs – the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies, or GISS – as a standalone entity.

In its place, it would move some of the lab’s functions into a broader environmental modeling effort across the agency.

Career specialists are now working remotely, awaiting details and even more unsure about their future at the lab after they were kicked out of their longtime home in New York City last week. Closing the lab for good could jeopardize its value and the country’s leadership role in global climate science, sources say.

“It’s an absolute sh*tshow,” one GISS scientist said under condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media. “Morale at GISS has never been lower, and it feels for all of us that we are being abandoned by NASA leadership.”

Well, then, you shouldn’t have turned it into your own personal political cult office. Not been clima-activists. They thought the grift would continue unabated, like usually happens. What the Trump admin should do is audit the GISS in full, see if they were spending the money correctly, if there was fraud and graft.

“We are supposedly going to be integrated into this new virtual NASA modeling institute, but (we have) no idea what that will actually look like,” they said.

Most of the modeling is BS, based on cultish thinking, not reality.
