This has made the pro-illegals crowd very upset – as long as those illegals are Somewhere Else
Texas National Guard can now arrest and detain people who illegally enter the US
Texas National Guard soldiers can arrest and detain people for entering the U.S. illegally from Mexico under an agreement with the Trump administration that expands the military’s role in immigration enforcement.
The new authority is a shift for the Guard and the military broadly, which has been limited to a supporting role for the Border Patrol. Republican Gov. Greg Abbott gave Texas Guard members the power to arrest migrants on trespassing charges in 2021, but that order was limited to encounters on border landowners’ private property.
Texas’ pact with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, signed Friday, gives the Guard full authority to investigate, arrest and detain migrants for purposes of deporting them. Guard members must work “only under the supervision of a CBP official” and must be able to speak with a CBP official “by cellular phone, radio, or other similar technology,” the agreement says.
“This boosts manpower for border security,” Abbott said late Sunday on the social media platform X.
No one in the Trump administration is going to stop this. They will help. Texas has a green light to do this.
The military has been limited to tasks like surveillance and building barriers, adhering to the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 to keep the armed forces away from civilian law enforcement. But advisers close to President Donald Trump argue there are legal grounds to summon the military to combat narcotics and mass migration.
And there we go. The left loves to trot out Posse Comitatus when a Republican is in office. Except, if they actually read the Act they’d know that the President or Congress can use the military for certain operations, such as protecting federal property (like the border), enforce federal laws (like illegal immigration), and domestic emergencies (like keeping illegals out).
Democratic state Rep. Gene Wu said Texas’ agreement makes law enforcement’s job more difficult and dangerous and that Abbott “continues to generate more hate against an already terrified and vulnerable population.”
How does it make the job more difficult? He failed to enlighten us on that. And that population? They aren’t an American population. They shouldn’t be here. Why do Democrats want so many illegals?

Is the Post’s editorial board on to something?
Dems are finally getting the message on their NY climate agenda: Stand down!
A light just went off for the left: Americans don’t like paying higher bills for a climate war. Duh.
Democrats (well, some of them) are suddenly recognizing the message of November’s victories by Donald Trump and other Republicans.
First, that voters are deeply skeptical of a pricey (and likely futile) war on climate at their expense.
Second, that those victories will make it harder still to achieve the greenies’ fanciful agenda.
Hmm: With luck, the entire climate agenda might just collapse, saving Americans billions and bolstering energy security across the nation.
Could it?
“The public is exhausted,” admits Assemblyman John McDonald (D-Albany). “They don’t want to see their bills go up. We have to be sensitive to that.”
McDonald also stressed the need “to be realistic that we’re not going to have a federal partner.”
Gov. Kathy Hochul, too, has delayed her plan for a “cap-and-invest” tax on fossil-fuel corporations, knowing the costs would be passed to consumers, conflicting with her 2026 reelection focus on “affordability.”
The Post tries to make the case, but, what they are missing is what I said in regards to the Wall Street Journal saying the same thing: “but, I have news: it will never die. The cultists will not let it. It will keep coming back. The disciples will make sure their voices are heard since the news media is on their side, along with politicians. They will never stop.” They won’t. The cult may go a little quiet, might act like they are backing down, but, they will always be there, always be ready to go full cult. They will always try and back door legislation and regulations. They will try and slip stuff through. Don’t ever turn away.

This is the UN group which has lots of Hamas terrorists working for them, and which works with terrorist groups. UNRWA employees literally worked with Hamas during their October 7th attack
Trump to Defund UNRWA, Leave UN Human Rights Council — Again
President Donald Trump will reportedly defund the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), the agency for Palestinian “refugees” that has aligned with Hamas terrorists, this week.
Trump will also withdraw from the United Nations Human Rights Council, which has been little more than a forum for dictators to sanitize their human rights records while bashing Israel and, to a lesser extent, the United States.
Both moves will repeat policies that Trump had adopted during his first administration, and which were reversed by President Joe Biden — to little avail, as UNRWA sheltered Hamas terrorists and the Human Rights Council continued to attack Israel.
The executive orders giving effect to these decisions were postponed until Tuesday, when President Trump is to welcome Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House.
The problem with Biden was that he did support Israel, but, so many of the people around him did not, not too mention the unhinged Democrat base. They hated Israel. Now you have Trump and his people who unabashedly, wholeheartedly support Israel and loathe Hamas and the other Islamic terrorist groups. And will do all they can to protect and support Israel.

If it’s a day ending in a Y it must be a great day to fearmonger and prognosticate (it’s an Axios article, so, their formatting is always a bit different
Climate change could erase $1.4 trillion in real estate value: report
A novel new report combining several strands of research finds that human-driven climate change could result in $1.47 trillion in net property value losses from rising insurance costs and shifting consumer demand.
Why it matters: Insurance costs are increasing faster than mortgage payments. That’s squeezing homeowners and leading to climate change-driven migration away from high-risk areas in the Sun Belt and the West.
The report from First Street, a climate risk financial modeling company, identifies the five largest metro areas likely to see the biggest spikes in insurance premiums: Miami, Jacksonville, Tampa, New Orleans and Sacramento.
I’ve mentioned First Street before: they are overly hysterical and full blown members of the doomsday climate cult. And they’re claiming this will happen over the next 30 years. What happens if this doesn’t happen? Who gets fired?
According to the new research, climate impacts may disrupt historical migration to Sun Belt states as risks of climate change-worsened extreme weather events continue to grow.
Is there anyone who thinks that this slight uptick in temperatures will stop them? The fearmongering over tropical systems, something not born out by actual data, will scare people? It has not so far. Nor the scary prognostications of sea rise doom.
Between the lines: First Street’s report itself hasn’t been peer-reviewed, and there are important caveats and uncertainties associated with the work, since it combines results from multiple models and peer-reviewed studies.
OK, so, then why are so many news outlets reporting this? Why did they publish a report with “important caveats and uncertainties”? Would it surprise you that this is based on a garbage computer model? This is doomsday crap that’s as useful as Alex Jones and the Weekly World Report.

Of course, CNN and most of the other outlets yammering about what Elon Musk said are mostly focusing on it being full of Democrats and Leftists doing Leftist things
Elon Musk said Donald Trump agreed USAID needs to be ‘shut down’
Development needs to be “shut down,” following days of speculation over the future of the agency after its funding was frozen and dozens of its employees were put on leave.
“With regards to the USAID stuff, I went over it with (the president) in detail and he agreed that we should shut it down,” Musk said in a X Spaces conversation early Monday.
Musk said he checked with Trump “a few times” and Trump confirmed he wants to shut down the agency, which dispenses billions in humanitarian aid and development funding annually. CNN has reached out to the White House and USAID for comment.
Sunday evening, before the X Spaces conversation, when asked for comment on USAID, Trump told reporters: “It’s been run by a bunch of radical lunatics, and we’re getting them out, and then we’ll make a decision” on its future.
In the X Spaces conversation early Monday, which he co-hosted with Republican Sen. Joni Ernst of Iowa and Vivek Ramaswamy – who was initially named co-chair of DOGE with Musk but has since left – the X owner called USAID “incredibly politically partisan” and said it has been supporting “radically left causes throughout the world including things that are anti-American.” (snip)
Other top Trump officials, such as Stephen Miller, who serves as deputy chief of staff for policy at the White House, have also taken aim at USAID, accusing its workforce of being overwhelmingly Democrats.
Blah blah blah. Let’s ask USAID
Factored into this challenge is the need for program offices to comply with existing policies and procedures, obtain and use reliable data, and hold implementers (nongovernmental organizations or NGOs, contractors, and public international organizations or PIOs) accountable for results. Simultaneously, USAID must strengthen its efforts to detect and prevent corruption, fraud, and sexual exploitation and abuse, as these serious issues compromise the integrity of Agency programs, create reputational risk to USAID, and betray the very beneficiaries its
programs are intended to assist.
Because the programs are rife with fraud, corruption, sexual exploitation and abuse, and USAID keeps giving money to the programs, countries, contractors, NGOs, and international organizations.
(Bureau of Investigative Journalism) Within its first two years of operation, the largest ever project funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) was in crisis.
The $9.5bn initiative was led by US contractor Chemonics International. Its aim was to transform global health supply chains – the sprawling system of procurement and transport that delivers life-saving products including HIV/Aids drugs, mosquito nets and contraceptives to millions around the globe. (snip)
By the spring of 2017, it was clear the project was failing. During its worst quarter, only 7% of its shipments arrived at their destinations on time and in full. Project leaders scrambled as multiple countries ran short of essential health products and faced stock-outs.
But interviews with those closely involved, as well as the rare instances of external scrutiny, suggest serious problems persist. Chemonics has received multiple extensions to continue implementing the project – until at least November 2024. And after eight years and billions of dollars, there is little independent evidence that USAID, Chemonics and its partners have actually strengthened a global supply chain that millions rely on for life-saving medical supplies.
It’s mostly a fail. USAID is pissing away taxpayer money for little reward. Of course, this is throughout the federal government.

And you wonder why I call this an unscientific, doomsday cult
Could the UK actually get colder with global warming?
Of all the possible climate futures, there’s a scenario where the United Kingdom and north-west Europe buck the trend of global warming and instead face plunging temperatures and freezing winters.
It’s not the most likely outcome, but a number of scientists fear that the chance of it happening is growing, and that the consequences would be so great that it deserves proper consideration.
They are concerned that the ocean currents that bring warm water from the tropics to the North Atlantic could weaken – or even collapse – in response to climate change.
Huge uncertainties remain about when – or even whether – a collapse could happen. So, how likely is it, and what would it mean?
The system of Atlantic currents, called the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (Amoc), is a key reason why the UK is warmer than Moscow, despite being a similar distance from the Equator.
OK, we’re really doing this again, saying that global boiling will shut down the AMOC and make the UK cold like during the Little Ice Age. And it’s all your fault. It certainly couldn’t happen for the same reasons that it happened as the world went from the Medieval Warm Period into the Little Ice Age, right? Or the previous warm to cool Holocene periods, right? The cult has their talking points, and they will never give up on them.
Politico and writers Emily Ngo and Nicholas Wu do not see to understand either
Democrats scramble to make their immigration stand amid broader support for deportations
Democrats’ long-standing struggle with messaging has come back to haunt them just as President Donald Trump is intensifying his crackdown on illegal immigration — an effort some Democrats support.
For the moment, the party is backed into a corner. Its leaders are reluctant to alienate centrist members voting with Republicans on bills making it easier to deport migrants charged with crimes. They also can’t deny that public opinion is shifting to the right and aligning with Trump on targeting criminals. And they know missteps could blow their chances at retaking the House in the midterms.
It’s a familiar dilemma at an unpredictable time.
“What is the party’s message on immigration? There presently is not one,” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) told reporters recently in Washington.
Messaging? Americans literally saw it play out in real time, with the Biden-Harris admin opening the borders, letting in murderers, rapists, child predators, and gang members, as well is importing Islmists, gang members, and America haters, then shipping them off to small town America. Democrats are still talking about being sanctuary cities and protecting illegals, including ones like child rapists. Even as they whined about Greg Abbott shipping tens of thousands of illegals to sanctuary cities. How do they put that in messaging? They can yammer about being charitable and helpful, but, they’re still protecting murderers.
But the party does have the beginnings of a game plan. It’s built around the expectation the president will expand his signature deportation blueprint to target immigrants with whom Americans can more readily sympathize.
“Dreamers, farm workers and families,” Rep. Adriano Espaillat (D-N.Y.), chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, listed at a recent news conference, previewing where Democrats will make their stand — if they can get on the same page with messaging.
And, they bring in criminals and refuse to deport them. Actively protect them.
Many Democrats have sought to warn voters that the president will not stop at deporting criminals, and some have stressed the need for due process for those charged. They’re now trying to paint Trump’s plans as a precursor to efforts to break up mixed-status families and remove agricultural workers, which would likely drive up grocery prices.
Yeah, Democrats need those illegals to pick their veggies and do their decks.
Jeffries has also begun specifying the same three groups — families, DACA recipients and agricultural workers — as Democrats’ potential line in the sand.
“House Democrats are prepared to work together with our Republican colleagues to find common ground, with respect to securing our border, with respect to fixing our broken immigration system in a bipartisan and comprehensive way and with respect to defending Dreamers, farm workers and keeping families together,” the top Dem said at a news conference.
We’re not falling for this again. Democrats will demand legalization in exchange for future border security. Guess what? Trump doesn’t need their permission. He has all the standing law as previously passed by Congress. This is who Democrats protect
