Ford Will Lose At Least $4.5 Billion Pushing Electric Vehicles This Year

Ford set to lose $4.5 billion on electric vehicles this year, despite increased revenue

Electric vehicleFord Motor Company announced it is projected to lose a whopping $4.5 billion from electric vehicles (EVs) this year, up from the previous projected loss of $3 billion.

The company released its second-quarter financial results on Thursday. The U.S.-based automaker’s EV division, called “Ford Model e,” has lost $1.8 billion so far this year, according to Fortune.

The projected $4.5 billion loss is over twice as much as Model e’s $2.1 billion loss in 2022. The company recently announced that the price of its electric F-150 Lightning pickup trucks will be reduced due to cheaper raw battery materials.

The company touted that its low EV prices “establish[es] leadership ahead of industry’s next-generation EVs” and that the Ford Model e’s revenue is up 39%. Ford is also expected to produce 600,000 EVs per year by 2024.

“The near-term pace of EV adoption will be a little slower than expected, which is going to benefit early movers  like Ford,” Ford CEO Farley said in a press release.  “EV customers are brand loyal and we’re winning lots of them with our high-volume, first-generation products; we’re making smart investments in capabilities and capacity around the world; and, while others are trying to catch up, we have clean-sheet, next-generation products in advanced development that will blow people away.”

See, if the government could just force you peasants into purchasing an EV, then Ford could jack the price up thousands as Government offers tax incentives.

I wonder why Ford is getting crushed while Tesla is not? Anyway, don’t forget that the hardcore Warmists want to ban all private ownership of vehicles, even EVs.

Good News: Biden Incandescent Bulb Ban Begins Today

In fairness, the original started under George W. Bush, but, Biden’s ban goes much, much further

Biden administration incandescent lightbulb ban takes effect

The Biden administration’s new lightbulb efficiency rule takes effect on Tuesday, effectively prohibiting the sale of all new incandescent bulbs in favor of more energy-friendly alternatives.

The new lightbulb efficiency regulations were announced last April by the Department of Energy and require all bulbs sold by retailers to produce a minimum of 45 lumens, the measure of light and brightness, per watt. (There are exceptions for certain appliances that utilize incandescent bulbs, however, such as microwaves.)

In turn, consumers will be limited to purchasing more efficient sources of lighting, such as LED bulbs, which have a higher upfront cost but last roughly 15 to 20 times as long as incandescent bulbs.

DOE estimates that over the next 30 years, the lightbulb efficiency standard will slash carbon emissions by 222 metric tons, the equivalent of emissions generated by 28 million homes in a year.

Sigh. It’s all about the climate scam. Will any reporter ask if the White House has replaced all their light bulbs with other than incandescent?

Consumers are also expected to save nearly $3 billion per year on their utility bills, officials said.

Yeah, but the bulbs cost more, at least if you buy a decent one, because there are lots of garbage ones that last the same as IBs, sometimes less. And it’s tough finding certain ones, like the anti-bug ones I use for the porch. The low watt ones in my little lamp next to my bed. The candelabra style for the lamp above my dining room table. 40 watt equivalent for the ceiling fan. I will use other than IBs in most other things by choice. Choice. That’s the issue. Government taking away choice for their cult beliefs.

Regulators have said the more than one year of notice gives retailers and manufacturers a sufficient runway to comply with the rule and sell out their existing supply of low-watt bulbs.

Regulating away products that harm no one. Will retailers continue to sell through? Because who’s going to check?

Comrade Sanders, Other Dems, Wants DOJ To Prosecute Fossil Fuels Companies For Climate Crisis (scam)

Considering how politicized the DOJ is, how left wing their leadership and so many agents are, this isn’t something to dismiss as “meh, it’ll never happen.” If it does, there should be some tough questions asking of the DOJ and all it’s different agencies have stopped using fossil fuels themselves.

climate cowA group of left-wing senators led by Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., are demanding that the Department of Justice (DOJ) prosecute the fossil fuel industry over its alleged climate disinformation campaign.

In a letter Monday to Attorney General Merrick Garland, the Senate coalition — joined also by Sens. Ed Markey, D-Mass., Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., and Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass. — argued fossil fuel companies have conducted a “longstanding and carefully coordinated campaign” to mislead Americans about the risks posed by global warming and “discredit climate science” in pursuit of profits. If the DOJ were to pursue such a case again the fossil fuel industry, it would mark the first time the federal government got involved in climate nuisance litigation.

“The actions of ExxonMobil, Shell, and potentially other fossil fuel companies represent a clear violation of federal racketeering laws, truth in advertising laws, consumer protection laws, and potentially other laws, and the Department must act swiftly to hold them accountable for their unlawful actions,” the four senators wrote to Garland on Monday.

First off, can any of these senators show that they take the train and drive around in EVs, versus lots and lots of fossil fueled flights, probably most weekend, and drive around in fancy pants fossil fueled vehicles? We know the answer, but, it’s just amazing to me that no Credentialed Media outlet ever asks this very simple and reasonable question.

Second, they are likening this to the Big Tobacco suits: what happens if the DOJ goes ahead with this and wins? Who gets hurt the most? The middle and working classes. The cost of energy will skyrocket, it will be difficult for the average American to travel anywhere. The cost of everything will skyrocket, because it will be so much more expensive to move food and goods, to build homes. And, remember, only half a barrel of petroleum goes to gas and oil. The rest goes to manufacturing clothes, coffee makers, refrigerators, shoes, smartphones, computers, tablets, TVs, their streaming devices, Internet routers/WiFi, makeup, and so much more. Like 6,000 products.

Those oil companies will just operate in other countries, and they will get the benefits. Be careful what you wish for: you just might get it.

Sanctuary City Of New York Makes “Migrants” Sleep Outside Of Full Hotel

Sobering video shows dozens of migrants sleeping on cardboard outside the iconic Roosevelt Hotel in Midtown Manhattan on Monday morning — as the makeshift processing center for asylum seekers hit capacity this weekend.

The slumbering newly arrived migrants could be seen filling the sidewalks surrounding the historic hotel at 45th Street and Vanderbilt Avenue, stretching from the hotel door up East 47th Street.

The group slept shoulder-to-shoulder across three full blocks while waiting to be processed at the site, which also houses migrant families, as NYPD officers monitored the situation.

Heartbreaking images showed crowd-control ropes separating the migrants from passersby, as those waiting for access to proper shelter huddled under blankets with their belongings alongside them.

Heartbreaking? They could have avoided this by not showing up at the US border/being caught entering illegally and demanding asylum, which most won’t be eligible for.

One very interesting this is that there almost no women and children. They’re mostly adult males.

High Flying John Kerry, Who Was Also In Vietnam, Wants To “Reduce Emissions From The Food System”

Who decides this? Who would be in charge of forcing people to do this? Of cutting off their food? Of forcing them to eat plants (which, BTW, release a lot of methane) and bugs? While the Elites chomp on steak and veal and stuff? Few Warmists voluntarily do this….or do anything in their own lives.

GOP Rep. Mace: Impeachment Puts Moderate Republicans ‘at Risk for 2024’

During this weekend’s broadcast of “Fox News Sunday,” Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) warned an impeachment of President Joe Biden could pose some risks for Republicans in the upcoming election cycle.

Mace said moderate Republican members would be politically vulnerable if House leadership pursued impeachment.

“There are Republicans who are publicly expressing concerns, Congressman Ken Buck, one of them, about going down this trail,” host Shannon Bream. “Here’s what Politico says, McCarthy must placate his hard right critics whose support he’ll need in this week’s high stakes spending votes without alienating his most skittish members who face re-election on turf that Biden won. So what about this issue of impeachment, is the party divided?”

“Well, I do believe we are, at this point, an inquiry is different from an impeachment vote and is another tool in the toolbox,” Mace replied. “But I will tell you, every time we walk the plank, we are putting moderate members, members that won Biden, won districts. We are putting those seats at risk for 2024. We are putting the majority at risk. And it’s not just impeachment that does that. Other issues, like abortion, et cetera, also put those members on the plank.”

Was the news concerned about moderate Democrats being in danger for the 2020 elections? Were elected Democrats concerned, or their yapping folks? Actually, yes, they were. But, they were also saying things like “This is not something that you can do based on polls.” They thought it was the right thing to do, and they impeached Trump over tiny, minor things. Biden is a criminal. He’s used his position to enrich himself and his family (how does a guy getting paid the Congressional wage since 1973 have multiple houses in rich areas?), all while screwing over America by working with China and Ukraine, among others. He’s beyond shady, compromised, and dirty.

“But the one thing I’ll say is this, is that whatever the evidence shows us, we ought to follow the facts, and we have to be better than Nancy Pelosi,” she continued. “Pelosi really politicized the impeachment process. We do not want to do that here. We have to show overwhelming, undeniable evidence in order to move this thing forward. And if we can’t, then we should not. But if we do, then we ought to use every tool in the toolbox to make sure the American people see it for what it is, and we can hold everyone accountable.”

In other words, she wants a process so deliberate, so slow, that it will never happen. Has she been paying attention to all the information on the Biden crime syndicate? She wants perfect. I’ve mentioned this before, that the GOP is going to attempt to have so many different components of Biden’s corruption involved that it will be too difficult and too complicated. They don’t need more than a few big things. Never underestimate the ability of elected Republicans to mess up an issue.

CNN Is Vexed That Republicans Cannot Get Out Of Their Own Bind Over Summer Weather

Why Republicans can’t get out of their climate bind, even as extreme heat overwhelms the US

Deadly heatwaves are baking the US. Scientists just reported that July will be the hottest month on record. And now, after years of skepticism and denial in the GOP ranks, a small number of Republicans are urging their party to get proactive on the climate crisis.

But the GOP is stuck in a climate bind – and likely will be for the next four years, in large part because they’re still living in the shadow of former president and 2024 Republican frontrunner Donald Trump.

Well, I wasn’t expecting Trump Derangement Syndrome. We shouldn’t be surprised, though

Even as more Republican politicians are joining the consensus that climate change is real and caused by humans, Trump’s inflammatory rhetoric has driven the party to the right on climate and extreme weather. Trump has called the extremely settled science of climate change a “hoax” and more recently suggested that the impacts of it “may affect us in 300 years.”

Scientists this week reported that this summer’s unrelenting heat wave would have been “virtually impossible” were it not for the planet-warming pollution from burning fossil fuels. They also confirmed that July will go down as the hottest month on record – and almost certainly that the planet’s temperature is hotter now than it has been in around 120,000 years.

Yet for being one of the most pressing issues of the 21st century, climate is rarely mentioned on the 2024 campaign trail.

Yeah, this is turning into mostly about Trump. But, look, let’s hypothetically agree that the current warming is in fact anthropogenic global warming, and it is mostly caused by Humanity, and CO2 is the control knob. Now what? If that’s the case, can the Warmists explain why all their policies revolve around increasing the power of government over out lives? Voluntarily giving up our freedoms to government? Allowing government to restrict our travel, telling us where we can live, what we can eat, what we can buy, what temperature we can keep our AC and heating at? Taking more and more of our money? What we can say, read, write, and think? Ending capitalism? Why are all their policies rather Fascistic? Authoritarian? Why are their policies never about increasing freedom, consumer choice, and limiting government authority?

When Republicans do weigh in on climate change – and what we should do about it – they tend to support the idea of capturing planet-warming pollution rather than cutting fossil fuels. But many are reticent to talk about how to solve the problem, and worry Trump is having a chilling effect on policies to combat climate within the party.

Why is CNN using vast amounts of fossil fuels and energy to gather and disseminate their version of the news? Why do so few Warmists give up their own use of fossil fuels? Give up meat? Live in tiny homes? And so forth? I enjoy this comment at the Yahoo News version

This is what weakens this country. When a political group decides on a policy, often based on faulty information,and then are reluctent to see compelling data as nothing more than political propaganda, they paint themselves into the proverbial corner and refuse to conceed. In some warped universe, they believe that capitulation, to the overwhelming scientific information,is a sign of weakness and not the intelligent option that it is. In digging in their heals, they are preventing progress and damaging the nation. Continuing the false narrative can only hurt America.

Yet, Warmists have decided on a policy to fix the scam issue, and it’s all about control. Weirdly, they’ve all been brainwashed to ignore that they will all be giving up their own money and freedom.

NBC News: It’s Impossible To Change Your Race

Inside the online world of people who think they can change their race

Since before she hit double digits, Alisa, 15, said she has felt a special connection with Japan. The high school student, who asked to be anonymous for fear of being doxxed online, was born in Ukraine and lives in Maryland, but she now goes by the Japanese name Miyuki and listens to “subliminals” that promise she will wake up and be Japanese. So far, she believes that by listening to YouTube videos with lo-fi music and photos of East Asian facial features while she sleeps, her vision has cleared, her eyelids have become smaller and her hair is just a bit darker.

Practitioners of what they call “race change to another,” or RCTA, purport to be able to manifest physical changes in their appearance and even their genetics to become a different race. They tune in to subliminal videos that claim can give them an “East Asian appearance” or “Korean DNA.”

But experts underscore that it is simply impossible to change your race.

“It’s just belief,” said Jamie Cohen, an assistant professor of cultural and media studies at Queens College, City University of New York. “It doesn’t ever really work, because it’s not doing anything, but they have convinced themselves that it works because there’s other people who have convinced themselves, as well.”

Impossible to change your race? Kinda like it’s impossible to change your sex? Remember, NBC, like so many in the Credentialed Media, lauded grifters like Rachel Dolezal Shawn King for a bit, until Activists decided this was “blackfishing“. Look, if it’s not OK to “identify” as another race, why is it OK to identify as another sex? Don’t expect an actual reasoned, literate, cogent, adult answer to that one.

Experts agree race is not genetic. But they contend that even though race is a cultural construct, it is impossible to change your race because of the systemic inequalities inherent to being born into a certain race.

Oh, good grief. There are three races, as called originally: Caucasoid, Mongoloid, and Negroid, with a small classification of Dravidians through the India region. Is this biology? Some will argue that it is, some will argue that it isn’t. Especially with all the inter-breeding over time. It’s definitely biological that some races are more susceptible to certain medical conditions. Regardless, we won’t solve this. But, if race is cultural construct, why can’t you change it. “Systemic inequalities?” Horseshit. Total copout answer. Gender is biological. You cannot change it. Even if you cut your tallywacker off and get breast implants and take all sorts of drugs, you are still a man.

Freund added that the idea of changing one’s race operates differently depending on a person’s racial background and that white people who seek to “transition” to other races can often sidestep the harms of racism.

Why, yes, the article, which is long, does continue to get wackier and wackier.

The intense fixation on and enamoration with East Asian traits and appearances has led some members of the East Asian community to criticize RCTA as fetishistic and harmful. Some scholars say it is another case of cultural appropriation, rather than appreciation. “Maybe this isn’t the way to respectfully engage with the culture,” Rhee said.

Instead of using words like that, just call them nuts. You may appreciate a culture, you may want to live the culture, but, you cannot be that race. But, everything is crazy these days, because there really are not big issues, like a world war or Cold War.

But, not one mention or consideration that this all applies to gender, as well.
