CBP reports all-time highs for yearly, monthly migrant encounters along Southwest border

Migrant encounters on the Southwest border in September and for all of Fiscal Year 2023 were the most ever recorded by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and there were significant changes in where migrants cross from Mexico this past year, the agency reports

There were 269,735 migrants encountered on the Southwest border in September — the most ever recorded in a single month by CBP. That’s up nearly 16% from 232,963 in August, and up nearly 50% from July, according to CBP data released Saturday.

September marked the end of Fiscal Year 2023, during which the agency encountered a total of 2.48 million migrants on the Southwest border — an agency record and about 100,000 more from the 2.38 million encounters in Fiscal Year 2022, according to agency data.

And what’s happening with this record number of illegals?

Border Patrol clocking 1,000 ‘known gotaways’ per day, over 23K people in October, CBP sources say

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) sources confirmed to Fox News that there have been more than 23,000 “known gotaways” since the new fiscal year began on Oct. 1.

That means more than 1,000 individuals were seen or detected by Border Patrol agents but not apprehended per day this month.

Sources say figures like these representing the rate at which people are crossing illegally and disappearing into the interior are keeping border officials up at night because American authorities have no idea who these estimated 1,000 individuals coming over each day are, where they are from or why they are coming here illegally.

How many of them are gang members and bad people? How many are terrorists from Islamist nations? We don’t know.

Striking hotel workers in L.A. replaced by unhoused migrants, union officials claim

Officials with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office on Monday announced an investigation into labor practices at hotels across L.A. County after allegations that some hotels are hiring unhoused refugees living in a shelter on Skid Row to replace striking union workers, particularly in the housekeeping departments.

Unite Here Local 11, the union representing thousands of workers in the largest hotel strike in U.S., brought the issue of working conditions for migrants hired at L.A. hotels to the attention of District Attorney George Gascón, the Los Angeles Times reported.

According to the Time reporting, nearly a dozen refugees, primarily from Venezuela and Colombia, confirmed that they had been hired at hotels where workers were striking outside, with some saying they had been given heavy workloads, long hours and were forced to work without breaks.

And these Democrat voting union members do not seem to get that all the illegals will be used to replace them at lower wages.

Prince William, Gavin Newsome Take Long Fossil Fueled Flights To Discuss Global Boiling

Prince William to travel to Singapore for Earthshot Prize announcement on climate projects

climate cowPrince William will travel to Singapore next month to name the winners of his Earthshot Prize, a global competition to find solutions to the challenges of climate change.

William created the prize three years ago to encourage inventors and entrepreneurs to develop technologies to combat global warming and mitigate its impact on the environment.

Singapore was chosen to host the latest annual awards ceremony because of its role as a “hub for innovation” in Southeast Asia, William’s office at Kensington Palace said in a statement. During his four-day trip to Singapore, the prince will meet with local groups to learn how they are working to protect and restore the planet.

William will also attend the United for Wildlife global summit, featuring representatives of law enforcement agencies, conservation groups and corporations that are working to combat the trade in illegal wildlife products, which is estimated at $20 billion annually.

That last is good. Traveling all the way to Singapore to yammer about how Other People must be forced to comply with the climate cult’s beliefs, Williams beliefs, is not.

After Israel visit, Newsom heads to China for climate talks. But can he avoid global conflicts?

Gov. Gavin Newsom comforted a mother whose son was kidnapped by Hamas, and visited a hospital where Israelis were recovering from injuries from the Oct. 7 attacks. He met with top Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and saw videos of brutal beheadings.

That was how Newsom described his one-day visit to Israel before arriving in Hong Kong to kick off a week-long trip through China focused on climate change.

So, a flight from California to Israel, around 7,500 miles, then from there to China around another 4,500 miles. From China to California another 6,200 miles. He’s basically circling the globe on a private jet to yammer about ‘climate change’ in a country that is the worst offender per the climate cult, which is constantly building new coal power plants, and is more than happy to sell crappy, below-value products like solar panels to idiots.

Reporters Were Shown Video Of Hamas Atrocities, Broke Down In Tears

All those ones referring to Hamas as “militants” and trying to fund reasons to equate Israel with Hamas got an eyeful

Foreign Reporters Burst Into Tears During IDF Screening of Hamas’ Atrocities

Israel on Monday invited 200 foreign journalists to view horrific footage and images from Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack on the country, with attending journalists reporting that some colleagues burst into tears as they viewed clips of beheadings, torture, murder, and more.

Israeli officials said the graphic screening, hosted at a Tel Aviv military base, was necessary to fight against what they claim are lies pushed by Hamas that are akin to a “Holocaust denial-like phenomenon.”

Recording was not permitted inside the screening, reportedly out of respect for the families of the slain and maimed Israelis captured on camera. A single clip was permitted to leave the base, which appeared to show an Israeli driver and passenger being gunned down by Hamas fighters with rifles.

That scene ends with a Hamas fighter’s body cam showing two bodies slouched over in the car.

The reporters were treated to a long video, and they did not enjoy it

The Times of Israel reported that the compilation of apparent atrocities totaled 43 minutes.

Jotam Confino, a British journalist in attendance, shared a horrifying list of things included in the screening. He described watching clips of an man being beheaded with a shovel, an unarmed father being killed by a grenade as he sheltered with his weeping young sons, and a young girl—aged between 7 to 9—being shot dead.

The Guardian reported that a clip showed an Israeli woman checking a burned woman’s corpse to see if it was a family member. The dead woman’s dress “was pulled up to her waist and her underpants had been removed,” the paper wrote. Still images reportedly showed slain Israelis spread across highways, having been killed and their cars reportedly stolen.

All the leftists trying to yammer about occupation and Israel committing war crimes, like those in The Squad, should be forced to watch it. One of the founding members of the Democratic Socialists Of America, Maurice Isserman, has quit the DSA after 41 years of their support of Hamas.

How the Israel-Hamas War Imperils Action Against Global Warming

Global efforts to address climate change are already clouded by bitterness and distrust among countries of the world.

Now a widening gyre of conflict in the Middle East threatens to fracture an already divided world, raise oil and gas prices at a time of persistently high global inflation and direct financial resources to the business of fighting wars instead of the business of slowing down climate change.

That the fighting between Israel and Hamas is in the middle of an energy-rich region amplifies the risk. It tempts countries to secure their supplies of oil and gas rather than transitioning away from them, even after the hottest summer on record.

The winners so far are the producers of weapons and, to a lesser degree, of oil. Defense stocks have rallied. Oil prices inched up. The historical echoes are chilling, coming 50 years after the Arab oil embargo roiled energy markets. That episode was provoked by the 1973 Arab-Israeli war.

Well, gee wiz, perhaps the US, which is petroleum rich, could drill baby drill, instead of Brandon blocking most new leases.

All of this makes the next round of climate negotiations, scheduled for late November in the United Arab Emirates, itself a Persian Gulf petrostate, even more complicated.

The next few weeks will be crucial. If the conflict spills across the Middle East, it would likely shatter hopes of mustering global agreement on anything else, including the shared crisis of climate.

“This is a fundamental test of whether nations can firewall climate diplomacy from immediate crises,” said Comfort Ero, president of the International Crisis Group, a research organization.

Funny how it’s mostly rich folks pushing this stuff who refuse to practice what they preach, eh?

Illegal Aliens Just Want To Work, Right?

They’re just coming here so they can ear their way to a better life, right?

Work permits for illegal migrants stands exposed as a red herring, not a solution

In a clear sign that “let them work” was always a red herring, not a real answer to the city’s illegal-migrant crisis, news broke at a City Council hearing last week that barely over  2,100 migrants in the city have applied for work authorization — with none yet winning an actual federal OK.

So much for Gov. Kathy Hochul’s boasts after she (and others) got President Joe Biden to expand Temporary Protected Status for Venezuelan migrants.

City officials say they’ve submitted 444 work applications; federal workers in Lower Manhattan, another 1,700.

More than 160,000 migrants have landed in the city during the crisis, with roughly 65,000 in the city’s care.

Some are clearly working off the books, while no one really knows how many actually qualify for work permits — the law requires most to file other paperwork first, and then wait months to apply for legal-work rights.

Sure, sure, it can be a mound of paperwork to attempt to apply, but, only 1,700 out of 160K? They’re more than happy to sit on the government dole. They’re getting tons of assistance for housing, food, clothing, schooling, and more, so, why go work? They can just chill and wait for their asylum application to be denied, then scoot off and disappear off into the U.S.

Illinois’ Migrant Health Care Subsidies Projected to Be $300 Million Over Budget

Illinois will pause a program intended to provide taxpayer subsidized health care to the influx of non-citizen arrivals. The program is already up to $831.6 million in projected taxpayer costs.

Well, hey, the majority of citizens of Illinois voted for this, so, they should be willing to pay an extra tax.

Migrant occupancy, Airbnb restrictions boosting recovery of hotel industry in New York City

New York City’s pandemic-battered hotel industry is slowly starting to recover, buoyed by municipal contracts to house thousands of foreign migrants arriving from abroad as well as a near-total ban citywide on services such as Airbnb.

Add to the mix rules enacted two years ago at the urging of the hotel-worker union that put up bureaucratic hurdles to opening any new hotel, and nightly rates are up, vacancy down, across the city. (snip)

But there are caveats for the industry to the favorable news: 13% of hotel rooms citywide are being occupied by the migrants. (snip)

The city has said it’s spending an average of about $383 per migrant per night — which covers room, board and other costs.

While this is good for the hotels, it’s a fake occupancy, since the government is overpaying for occupancy. It’s not because lots and lots of people are visiting for vacations and such. And the more illegals in hotels the more people will be reticent about booking at those hotels.

Climahypocrites Harry And Meghan Sure Do Take Lots Of Private Fossil Fueled Flights

The Duke and Duchess of hypocrisy – Harry and Meghan burned nearly 10 TONS of CO2 by flying to Caribbean on private jet

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have burned nearly 10 tonnes of carbon after flying to the Caribbean on a private jet.

The couple flew over 4,000 miles from New Jersey to Canouan after attending a summit in New York on October 10.

Harry and Meghan also made a four-hour hop between the exclusive retreat and Atlanta in Georgia.

The visit comes after the pair attended a conference organised by Project Healthy Minds.

Zak Williams, the son on iconic actor Robin Williams, told attendees climate change was adversely impacting mental health, particularly among young people.

The Duke and Duchess have been keen to stress their support for tackling climate change in the past.

Remember, they also took the private flight to NYC from California. Then they would have flown from Atlanta back to California. Both of them have yammered quite a bit about climate doom, yet, constantly take long fossil fueled private flights. And live in a big mansion. Drive in low MPG SUVs. You, though, need to live in a tiny home, stay close to home, and ride a bike or the bus.

Speaking of buses

He means that all you peasants will need to take the bus, because EVs will be took expensive and limited (there are only so many metals to make batteries). Say, how did Mayor Pete get to Palm Beach? Did he take Amtrak from D.C.?

Biden Losing Support From Muslims In America Who Hate Israel And Jews

‘I will never vote Biden’: Some Muslim Americans in a key swing state feel betrayed by the president

As President Joe Biden declared unwavering support for Israel in the days after Hamas’ terror attack in Israel, Ahmad Ramadan, a former Biden adviser now leading coalition efforts for the Michigan Democratic Party, called the state party chair to raise the alarm about what he was hearing.

Michigan has one of the largest Muslim and Arab American populations in the country, and they say their support for Biden was instrumental to putting him over the top in the critical swing state in 2020. But now, Ramadan and other Democratic leaders in the state were hearing nothing but frustration with Biden — and threats to not vote for him again.

In a series of more than a dozen roundtable discussions with Muslim community leaders in the two weeks since the Oct. 7 attack by Hamas, Ramadan said the main takeaway is that “people are very disappointed.” They say they “will not forget what President Biden did and why he lied to them,” he added.

“President Biden won with historic numbers in 2020. And I was proud to represent that, but the last two weeks have really shifted things,” Ramadan said. “I’ve also been getting calls from people saying, ‘I have blood on my hands because I got people out to support him during that campaign.’”

They’re welcome to go back to their shithole Islamist nations if they do not like it here. Sorry, not all of us will capitulate to the extremist Islam view

Now, though, Muslim leaders are warning that Democrats risk losing their support, too, if Biden and the party do not do more to combat Islamophobia and address the pain many are feeling about the war in Gaza.

“Joe Biden has single-handedly alienated almost every Arab-American and Muslim American voter in Michigan,” said state Rep. Alabas Farhat, a Democrat whose district includes Dearborn, which is home to one of the largest Muslim and Arab American communities in the country.

In other words, they’re all on the side of the terrorists who like to kill young ravers, rape women, torture them, and behead babies. Especially Jews. Who want to wipe Israel from the world. These are extremists: why do we keep bringing people into the US with these beliefs? Same in other Western nations? They mostly do not assimilate, they want to keep their extremist views, and demand we accommodate them.

“That’s the plan right now,” Farhat said. “I think there’s going to be a lot of people that remember when you won Michigan years ago by a razor-thin margin, when you won Georgia with a razor-thin margin, when you won Arizona by a razor-thin margin — do not be surprised if there are consequences for your actions.”

In a sane world we would deport every single one of them who support Israel who are not already citizens.

The pro-terrorist organization supporters protested in Raleigh again Sunday

They marched through the streets of Downtown Raleigh, chanting “Free Palestine” and “End the Occupation,” referring to what they call–Israel’s “takeover” of what they believe is their land.

WRAL did zero Journalism to ask them what “end the occupation” means. If someone is occupying something, to not occupy means they are removed from it, right? Neither CBS17 nor ABC11 have mentioned the Jew hating protest. The Raleigh N&O did

People of all ages, including many who came to the rally with their entire families, cheered as speakers led chants of “free, free Palestine” and “long live the Intifada,” and called for an end to the bombings of Gaza, which have led to the deaths of more than 4,300 Palestinians, according to The Associated Press.

Perhaps they could have provided a bit of context on the Intifada thing, eh?

Other signs called for the U.S. to stop giving aid to Israel and repeated the common rallying cry, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” which many Israelis consider to be a call for the elimination of the Jewish state.

It does mean that. And Palestinians think that, because they’re the ones who came up with it.
