There could be legislation for that
(The Hill)Â Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Va.) is threatening to introduce a bill requiring the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to be more polite to airline passengers.
During a hearing about the TSA’s Screening Partnership Program that took place this week, Connolly said passengers would likely cooperate more with TSA agents if the agency’s workers used better manners when they deliver their instructions.
“There’s no excuse for someone barking orders continuously at the public at any airport in America who is an employee of the federal government, or a contractor for the federal government,†Connolly said. “I’d lose my job if I treated the public that way and rightfully so. My staff would be fired if I find that they treated my public that way.â€
In the public sector, you’d lose your job for groping people, much less being rude. You might face criminal charges and/or a lawsuit. Heck, there have been plenty of lawsuits where law enforcement officials have been sued for groping citizens. Would it really make any difference if they were more polite as they grope you? It might a little bit. When I received an enhanced pat-down at LAX back in 2010 (I have a stainless steel rod in my leg which usually sets off the machines), the TSA agent avoided “personal” areas and had the good sense to be polite and contrite. I had the feeling that he really, really did not want to be doing this.
Do we really need legislation to tell the TSA to be polite to citizens? If so, that should tell you something about the culture of the TSA. Now, if Connolly really wants to do something, he should add in that the enhanced pat-downs should be done behind screens, rather than having everyone in the airport watch people get groped. Second, there needs to be some serious common sense in exactly who gets the EPDs.
And maybe understand who we really need to be worried about are not the ones getting groped. But should be.
Also, to diverge a bit, perhaps he could have a talk with Mr. Obama, who seems to like to treat American’s who disagree with him in a rather shoddy manner.

Surprise? This comes via The Hockey Schtick, a Wall Street Journal poll on the state of the union and what Americans care about, along with Obama’s approval rating. Here’s the chart

Humorously, when Obama started yammering about “climate change” the Gore Effect kicked in, with light snow starting in D.C.
And why should people care? Warmists refuse to make their own lives “carbon neutral”. They won’t give up their own fossil fueled vehicles and travel. And Warmists continuously change the data
Multiple U.S. government bureaucracies including NOAA, NASA, and the Department of Energy are again being accused of inappropriately manipulating temperature data — or “adjusting†it, as officials at the agencies implicated in the scandal put it — to show global warming. While the accusations are not new, the latest scandal, sparked by an in-depth analysis of the data by independent analyst Steven Goddard at Real Science, relies on official records to suggest that federal agencies have been fudging temperature measurements to make past decades seem colder and recent years appear warmer.
Numerous scientists and experts confirmed Goddard’s explosive findings, but in separate responses to The New American, both NOAA and NASA attempted to downplay the significance of the accusations. The major problems identified by Goddard in the temperature records of federal bureaucracies relate to the U.S. Historical Climatology Network (USHCN), the official data-set covering the continental United States. While the agencies admit the records are adjusted, Goddard and multiple scientists suggested that biased methodology was used to adjust the data to show an unjustified and “spurious†warming trend.
The data is constantly being changed, typically cooling the past and warming the most recent years. The data is the data. If you change it again and again and again, that certain opens up the allegation that this is no longer science. But, then, it isn’t: “climate change” is about politics. Period.

Won’t somebody please think of the children?
(Click Orlando) Schools, courts and government offices throughout the western Florida Panhandle plan to close because of anticipated snow and ice as a polar vortex grips much of the country.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for the region. Forecasters say a mix of freezing rain and snow is expected Tuesday through Wednesday.
Schools in Santa Rosa and Escambia counties will be closed those days. Courts and many government offices also announced closures in advances of the wintry weather.
Those are the two western-most counties in Florida, up in the Panhandle. There are also closings in New Orleans and Mississippi from global warming created snow, ice, and cold. When Warmists told us that snow would be a thing of the past, I didn’t realize they were referring to the time when the Earth was in a cold age.
Of course, there’s absolutely nothing crazy at all about blaming cold on heat trapping gasses, you guys!
Dire signs from a warming world
Another insane cold wave — not the infamous “polar vortex †but its evil twin — is bringing sub-zero and single-digit temperatures to much of the nation. And global warming may be even more extreme, and potentially more catastrophic, than climate scientists had feared.
This is, of course, no contradiction. The rallying cry of the denialists — “It’s really cold outside, so global warming must be a crock!†— can be taken seriously only by those with a toddler’s limited conception of time and space. They forget that it’s winter, and apparently they don’t quite grasp that even when it’s cold in one part of the world, it can be hot in another.

Al Gore pops his head up at Davos…say, how’d he get there? A fossil fueled flight?…to make a racist pronouncement (via Climate Depot)
(CNBC) Stopping overpopulation is one way the dangers of climate change can be mitigated, according to two of the most prominent believers in global warming.
Former Vice President Al Gore and Microsoft founder Bill Gates (how did Gates get to Davos? Anyone think he flew commercial?) said at the World Economic Forum in Davos that contraception is a key in controlling the proliferation of unusual weather they say is endangering the world.
“Depressing the rate of child mortality, educating girls, empowering women and making fertility management ubiquitously available, so women can chose how many children and the spacing of children… is crucial to the future shape of human civilization,” said Gore, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 for his work on global warming.
Gore said Africa’s population is expected to surpass India’s and China’s by the mid-21st century and will be more than both combined by the end of the century.
The video of him speaking is here, starts at the 15 minute mark. Had anyone on the political Right said this, much less a former US Vice President, they would immediately be labeled a racist for wanting to reduce the population of Africa, which is largely populated by Black people and Arabs.
(The Reference Frame) Al Gore started to talk around 14:55 in the video above and advocated “fertility management” in Africa, something that sounds scary. You could think that he has explicitly talked about forced sterilization but he actually hasn’t – he has left the issue of the methods ambiguous. At any rate, it is very clear that he is obsessed with the idea of the reduction of the number of Africans and in this sense, he is no different than the German Nazis who wanted to gradually phase out Slavs on their stolen territories. (snip)
It is impossible not to think that there’s some racism and stunning hypocrisy if a jerk who has produced four children is “working” on the reduction of the number of newborn babies in a completely different nation.
Warmists have long advocated for population reduction for Other People, being extensively linked to the rest of the Progressive agenda, which includes abortion on demand and forced sterilization along racist lines, as the early founders of this movement were eugenicists and racists, particularly against Blacks. Yet, these same Warmists mostly refuse to take themselves out of the gene pool. Many have several children.
“These extreme weather events which are now 100 times more common than 30 years ago are really waking people’s awareness all over the world, and I think that is a game-changer,” Gore said.
Except they aren’t. Unless you count below average temperatures as extreme. And the Gore Effect is in play in Davos, with the daily high temperatures being below average (around 32F-42F for this part of January, depending on the source) for the past few days and expected to be below 27F as a high for the next ten days, with many days into the teens. And snowing every day, which isn’t that unusual.
Anyhow, no one should be surprised that Gore has gone racist.

On the bright side, at least they weren’t doing it to highlight “climate change”
(NBC Washington) Apparently, it can be too cold even for people who, for some reason, enjoy running into icy water, over and over again.
The 18th annual Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge at Sandy Point State Park in Maryland was canceled Saturday morning due to bitter cold and winds that whipped drifts of snow and ice onto the shoreline.
Saturday’s plunge was expected to have as many as 7,000 participants. It also features so-called Super Plungers, who dip into the water repeatedly over 24 hours. All the Super Plungers had raised at least $10,000 for charity.
One set of Super Plungers hit the water at 10 a.m. Friday. About 500 law enforcement officers — including some from Prince George’s County — took a dip at noon to raise money for the Special Olympics.
But even those devoted souls said the conditions were challenging. There was ice in the water, which complicated the start of the plunge.
“There’s no running today, because there’s ice in the water and the ice will cut your legs,” one participant said.
It was just too darned cold to do it Saturday. Brutal winds and temperatures. Shame, because they were raising money for the Special Olympics. How is this possible in the era of “climate change”?
