Sarah Palin Discusses Obama’s Mom Jeans And Equivocation On Russia

(Mediaite) Sarah Palin sat down with Sean Hannity Monday night for a victory lap of sorts, touting her 2008 comments about Russia capitalizing on a weak Barack Obama presidency to amass power. Palin believed she was vindicated, saying Russia exploited “Obama’s weak leadership.”

She said, “Anybody who carries the common-sense gene knows that Putin doesn’t change his stripes.” Palin and Hannity agreed that when the U.S. can’t “feed others with our resources,” people grow more reliant on Russia’s resources and it emboldens them, which is why the U.S. should approve the Keystone XL pipeline. Vladimir Putin, Palin said, is viewed as a man who “wrestles bears and drills for oil,” while Obama’s “potency” is one of “weakness” and said he’s viewed as a man who “wears mom jeans and equivocates and bloviates.”

She bashed Obama for having a policy of “leading from behind” and warned that nations other than Russia are “taking advantage of that weakness in America at this point.” Palin also quipped that if Putin wants to quell uproar about his violations of the law, he should borrow a page from Obama’s playbook and call them “executive orders.”

Team Obama May Announce New Obamacare Delay

And it’s all about attempting to protect Democrats for the mid-terms

New ObamaCare delay to help Democrats in midterm elections

The Obama administration is set to announce another major delay in implementing the Affordable Care Act, easing election pressure on Democrats.

As early as this week, according to two sources, the White House will announce a new directive allowing insurers to continue offering health plans that do not meet ObamaCare’s minimum coverage requirements.

Prolonging the “keep your plan” fix will avoid another wave of health policy cancellations otherwise expected this fall.

The cancellations would have created a firestorm for Democratic candidates in the last, crucial weeks before Election Day.

The White House is intent on protecting its allies in the Senate, where Democrats face a battle to keep control of the chamber.

For Republicans, this is a gift either way. Without the delay, provided it is announced, there will be more cancellation notices going out right around election time. With a delay, they can argue that Obamacare creates lots of pain for consumers. Either way, they can point out that Obama lied about keeping your insurance. Also, keeping your doctor. Also, a family saving $2500 a year. Also, that it will reduce the deficit. That it will be revenue neutral. If they’re smart (not always a sure thing with the Establishment GOP), they will simply focus on the easy to understand lies, and note if Obama and the Democrats lied about those and other parts of Obamacare, what else might they lie about?

We were told that Obamacare was supposed to be super awesome, that it would really help Americans. If so, then why does Team Obama continues to initiate delay after delay? Weren’t Dems and Obama upset over the Shutdown, which was about delaying Obamacare? Obama and the Dems want to slow the train wreck and hope no-one notices during the mid-terms. Unfortunately, there are enough low information voters and hyper-partisan fools on the left that they may partially succeed. Though, probably not enough to save the Senate Dems in vulnerable seats, handing the Senate to the GOP.

Whiny People Sue Over Cross Shaped Memorial In Maryland

Why? Because they’re “offended”, and we wouldn’t want an itty bitty tiny number of people to be offended, so they have to ruin it for everyone

(Fox News) A humanist advocacy group has filed a federal lawsuit to remove a cross-shaped World War I memorial in Prince George’s County, alleging the display violates the First Amendment.

The American Humanist Association says it does not object to the fact that the Bladensburg Cross memorializes soldiers, but rather the placement of the Christian symbol on property owned by a government agency, The Daily Record reported.

“We are certainly recommending coming up with a monument inclusive of all religious groups,” said Monica Miller, a lawyer with the association’s Appignani Humanist Legal Center.

Which is a load of mule fritters, because they are demanding that the memorial be removed, rather than changed to include symbols from other religions. The memorial has been there since 1925, and is in honor of the 49 men from Prince George Country who were killed in WWI.

According to the report, the lawsuit names as plaintiffs two local American Humanist Association members and a third individual — each of whom had “unwelcome contact” with the monument.

Steven Lowe, a plaintiff from Washington, said was “shocked” when he first saw the cross and is “upset” whenever he passes it, according to the complaint obtained by the newspaper.

So 3 people, one of who doesn’t even live there, are going all whiny bitch, and because they’re upset, well, the memorial has to go. This is what Robert D. Raiford calls the “United States Of The Offended“, and any time someone is offended they must force their views on everyone else. Of course the Humanists are using the stupid talking point about “separation between church and state“, because these types of people are morons and refuse to read and understand the 1st Amendment and the relevant papers about it from the day. They’re also misreading Thomas Jefferson’s letter to the Danbury Baptists. And conveniently ignoring that it was a letter, not a law nor Amendment.

Moss, the town administrator, told The Daily Record this is the first time a lawsuit has been filed to remove the Bladensburg Cross. He said the memorial has “historic and patriotic” value.

“There are community members that would be disturbed if the cross were removed,” he said.

Yeah, but the ones who want it up surely don’t matter, because someone else was offended and upset. But, the Humanists wouldn’t be offended if it was on private land. No, really. So, seeing it on government land makes them “upset”, but not on private land? In other words, this is strictly a hardcore leftist movement, and nothing else.

Bummer: Kay Hagan’s Approval Ratings Continue To Drop

I’m guessing her nuanced position on Obamacare and voting in lockstep with Obama is not working out so well

(WRAL) While President Barack Obama, Gov. Pat McCrory and U.S. Sen. Richard Burr all saw slight improvements in voters’ rating of their job performance in the latest Elon University Poll, U.S. Sen. Kay Hagan continued a year-long slide.

Elon pollsters surveyed 925 registered voters statewide Feb. 23-26 and also found that, despite national trends, a majority of North Carolinians still oppose gay marriage and legalized marijuana. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.22 percentage points.

Forty-nine percent of respondents disapprove of Hagan’s job performance, while 33 percent gave her a thumbs-up, according to the poll. It is her lowest approval number in the past year and includes erosion among registered Democrats – down from 63 percent in November to 55 percent – and women – from 40 percent in November to 33 percent.

The big question: can Republicans avoid shooting themselves in the foot?

Let’s Rename It “Global Moisture Change”

How do Climate Realists/skeptics compete with the sheer idiocy, brainwashing, and complete lack of science?

The frigid cold and snow are global climate change. If you wonder where the sun goes at night, as do typical global climate change deniers, you are probably seizing on the hoax story fed to you by big oil.

Big oil and foolish condescension. Check. Blaming cold and snow on warming? Check

Scientists should rename it “global moisture change.” The ocean heat up is pushing moisture — energy — into the atmosphere at an enormous rate. When weather fronts collide, the outcome depends on the energy: temperature differences. More difference, more action.

Does this mean that it was fricking hellishly hot during the last glacial period?

That’s why we are having polar weather; the energy has buckled the jet streams radically, forming record-size vortexes. Remember Hurricane Sandy, the largest geographical sized hurricane. The polar vortex is a polar hurricane.

Is Obama Really Playing Marbles?

(The Blaze) U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.) said Sunday that Russian President Vladimir Putin has been emboldened by the Obama administration’s diplomatic strategy of containment, which has given room to Putin’s push for geopolitical dominance.

“I think Putin is playing chess and I think we’re playing marbles,” the House Intelligence Committee Chairman told Fox News Sunday’s Chris Wallace. “And I don’t think it’s even close.”

One of Obama’s problems is that he just doesn’t seem to care about the details of doing the job of POTUS, as I’ve mentioned. The other is that, excepting for campaigning for himself, Obama lives in the now. He’s the ultimate social media president. With campaigning, there’s an end point, a goal. You have to hand it to him, he is one of the best at campaigning. Everything else seems to be based in the now, with some flashbacks to score political points. There is no forward thinking, not “strategery”, no planning.

Remember how Obama and the media lambasted Mitt Romney for calling Russia a “geo-political foe”? In fact, what Romney was doing was thinking ahead. Anyone who has spent time being a high-end leader knows you have to think ahead. You want to attempt to head future issues off at the pass. It doesn’t always work, of course. But you plan. Companies have short term and long term plans. There has to be strategic thinking, because other companies are going to attempt to beat them. The Pentagon has plans to take on Canada. Does anyone think there isn’t a plan involving the use of nuclear weapons against Canada? Or even Jamaica?

Obama lives in the now, particularly when it comes to foreign policy. He doesn’t want to know what is coming, what the long term threats are, what could happen. And he surrounds himself with people who are all about the “now”. His domestic policy isn’t much better.

He’s not playing marbles: he’s pitching pennies, where the idea is to get this penny.

How To Debate Climate Change Deniers Or Something

The first thing would probably to avoid using the word “deniers”, meant to equate people who do not believe every weather event and temperature change is caused mostly/solely by Mankind with those who say the Holocaust never happened.

How to debate climate change deniers (without scaring them off)

If you want to see an expression of pure despair, ask a college freshman to parse Rachel Carson’s rhetorical choices at 8:00 in the morning. That’s what I’m doing this semester for a composition class I’m teaching at the University of Virginia. The course is called “Representing Climate Change,” and our collective goal is to discover and deploy effective methods of talking and writing about our looming environmental crisis. The task is daunting. Climate change is at once really easy and really hard to write about. It’s easy because there is so much to say, and hard because progress toward a solution is so slow.

I can understand their despair…or, really, the despair of those who saw the effects of effectively banning the use of DDT, which has resulted in millions and millions of deaths that didn’t need to occur. But, then, this mostly happens in 3rd world nations, and Warmists are more than happy to decrease their lifestyles and lives. Anyhow, maybe the special snowflakes despair over the shoddy science in the book. Na, they’re brainwashed, else, why would their be a course called “Representing Climate Change”, which will provide lots of help in obtaining a job in the fast food and coffee service industries?

Would you believe the class is in the English department? Yes, this is what they’re teaching now. Hence, so many kids exit college unable to speak and write in Adult

My students are trying to figure out how their writing can contribute to the climate conversation. One tactic they love is finger pointing. In class discussion and in their papers, I come across a lot of “greedy corporations” and “soulless” oil companies and “people who just don’t care.” But is blame rhetorically effective? How should we use it? Working answers: sometimes, and its usefulness depends on the audience.

Essentially, there is little about how to debate, beyond a cautious “careful with the finger wagging and Blamestorming”. And they want to “change the message” to one of “positivity” to attempt to convince Other People to Do Something. There is an acknowledgement that the writer and the students are complete hypocrites, but, hey, they are searching for a better world or something.

But, don’t ever expect anything to change. Warmists are primarily Lefties, who use insults and personal attacks as their main weapons. Mostly because their so-called science is shoddy, they are complete hypocrites, and being nasty in righteous indignation is who they are.

Keystone XL Protesters Arrested En Masse

And have managed to bring the Gore Effect to D.C. today, where it is snowy and cold, and will be cold for days.

(Chicago Tribune) WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Police arrested hundreds of young people protesting the Keystone XL project on Sunday, as demonstrators fastened themselves with plastic ties to the White House fences and called for U.S. President Barack Obama to reject the controversial oil pipeline.

Participants, who mostly appeared to be college-aged, held signs reading: “There is no planet B” and “Columbia says no to fossil fuels,” referring to the university in New York City.

Here’s a question: how did these protesters get to Washington, D.C.? Did they walk all the way from Columbia, which, in case you didn’t know, is located in New York City?

Another group, several of whom were clad in white jumpsuits splattered with black ink that was meant to represent oil, lay down on a black tarp spread out on Pennsylvania Avenue to stage a mock spill.

Organizers estimated 1,000 people protested and said several hundred agreed to risk arrest by refusing to leave the sidewalk in front of the White House. Citing U.S. Park Police figures, the organizers said later that almost 400 people were arrested.

WP: “Obama’s Foreign Policy Based On Fantasy, Unicorns, And Pixie Dust”

OK, I added those last two for effect. We could have also inserted golfing, incompetence, poor training, poorer knowledge, terrible advisers, and a general inability to care about what’s going on. President Obama’s foreign policy is based on fantasy

FOR FIVE YEARS, President Obama has led a foreign policy based more on how he thinks the world should operate than on reality. It was a world in which “the tide of war is receding” and the United States could, without much risk, radically reduce the size of its armed forces. Other leaders, in this vision, would behave rationally and in the interest of their people and the world. Invasions, brute force, great-power games and shifting alliances — these were things of the past. Secretary of State John F. Kerry displayed this mindset on ABC’s “This Week” Sunday when he said, of Russia’s invasion of neighboring Ukraine, “It’s a 19th century act in the 21st century.”

That’s a nice thought, and we all know what he means. A country’s standing is no longer measured in throw-weight or battalions. The world is too interconnected to break into blocs. A small country that plugs into cyberspace can deliver more prosperity to its people (think Singapore or Estonia) than a giant with natural resources and standing armies.

Unfortunately, Russian President Vladimir Putin has not received the memo on 21st-century behavior. Neither has China’s president, Xi Jinping, who is engaging in gunboat diplomacy against Japan and the weaker nations of Southeast Asia. Syrian president Bashar al-Assad is waging a very 20th-century war against his own people, sending helicopters to drop exploding barrels full of screws, nails and other shrapnel onto apartment buildings where families cower in basements. These men will not be deterred by the disapproval of their peers, the weight of world opinion or even disinvestment by Silicon Valley companies. They are concerned primarily with maintaining their holds on power.

We’d all love a peaceful world and everyone shares a Coke. Alas, that has never happened, and who knows if it ever will. As someone once wrote, Obama likes to BE president, he doesn’t like to DO president. With the trappings of the Office comes certain responsibilities, and Obama is unable to handle them. He thinks he can come to the podium (always late to his own scheduled speeches), give a speech, wag a finger, make a pronouncement, and everyone will listen and do what he says. That doesn’t work too well with a parent talking to a recalcitrant teenager, and works worse when aimed at a strongman like Putin, who also controls land, sea, air, and nuclear forces.

But it’s also true that, as long as some leaders play by what Mr. Kerry dismisses as 19th-century rules, the United States can’t pretend that the only game is in another arena altogether. Military strength, trustworthiness as an ally, staying power in difficult corners of the world such as Afghanistan — these still matter, much as we might wish they did not. While the United States has been retrenching, the tide of democracy in the world, which once seemed inexorable, has been receding. In the long run, that’s harmful to U.S. national security, too.

This goes back to the notion I mentioned yesterday in that Obama hasn’t cultivated those international “friendships”. Who does he have a true working relationship with in the international community? Rather hard to get things done without those relationships. Nor does it help that he’s trying to downgrade our military, as well as, to paraphrase John Kerry, turn it into something kinder, gentler.
