Surprise: White House Fence Jumper Is A Crazy Warmist

I know, you’re shocked

(Business Week) A man wearing jeans and a T-shirt jumped the north fence (on Friday, Sept 19) and ran across the lawn at 7:20 p.m. He ignored agents’ orders to stop before agents nabbed him just inside the north portico, the building’s main ceremonial entrance.

Secret Service spokesman Brian Leary identified the fence-jumper as Omar J. Gonzalez, 42, of Copperas Cove, Texas. According to court documents, he was carrying a folding knife with a 3.5-inch serrated blade.

Gonzalez told Secret Service agents he was “concerned that the atmosphere was collapsing” and wanted to alert the president, according to an affidavit filed with the court.

Typical crazy Warmist.

Sunday’s NYC Climate March Is Like Totally Anti-Establishment

Evan, dare Politico say, TEA Party like! Anyhow, an alternated headline could be “what if there was a climate change march planned for today, and most media venues couldn’t care less?” Because neither the NY Times, LA Times, Washington Post, CBS News, ABC News, Chicago Post, Miami Herald, USA Today, nor a host of NYC newspapers bother to mention the “People’s Climate March” on their web front pages. NBC News does, though it is about the march Bill McKibben, and ultra-alarmist behind 350.org. Moving on

The rowdy greens take charge

Tens of thousands of environmental activists are flooding New York City’s streets this weekend in a coming-out party for a new breed of environmentalism – one that’s louder and rowdier than the old-school greens who dominated the movement when Barack Obama entered the White House.

Politico’s Elena Schor should have termed it “the rowdy fossil fuel using greens take charge to complain about Other People using fossil fuels”.

These upstarts like 350.org are brushing aside the staid Washington lobbying strategies of groups that failed to pass a climate bill in 2010. Instead they’re getting arrested outside the White House gates, staging costumed protests around the president’s travels and planning to clog Wall Street on Monday. They’ve already chalked up one big win: turning the Keystone XL pipeline decision into a political nightmare for Obama.

Hey, remember when 350.org was linked to 10:10’s exploding kids video, forcing McKibben to distance himself from the video?

Like the tea party, the new groups and their disruptive, anti-establishment approach have created lots of buzz, something they aim to amplify with as many as 100,000 climate activists marching through midtown Manhattan on Sunday. But their movement still hasn’t proven it can succeed consistently on policy-making — which requires an inside game to bring victories like a meaningful global climate pact or strong regulations to throttle greenhouse gases.

See? Totally anti-establishment. Except for all the groups backing the march which are intricately linked to the Democrat party, such as SEIU, the Teamsters, League Of Women Voters, College Democrats of Mass, CWA, Audubon Society, National Lawyers Guild, NOW, tons of unions, including teacher’s unions, and a whole raft of others, all Left leaning. And let’s not forget about all the true Socialist and Communist groups involved, plus CAIR, Code Pink, Common Dreams, World Can’t Wait, MoveOn.org, and all the other Democrat voting wackadoodle groups one would expect.

And what do they want? Legislation

“We can’t dismiss the importance of legislating, and we don’t mean to,” said Jamie Henn, the strategy director who co-founded 350 seven years ago, fresh out of college, alongside writer-turned-activist Bill McKibben. “What we’re trying to show is that there’s a way to wield political influence through different avenues.”

Should I write it? Yeah, I’m going to write it: I love how all these projected attendees plan on taking lots of fossil fueled trips to complain about and call for legislation that harms the fossil fueled industry, which would raise the price of fossil fuels, and then everything else. They never really seem to do anything in their own lives, but sure are interested in Forcing Other People to live according to Warmist doctrine.

While the march is timed to Obama’s appearance at the summit, Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune said a strong U.N. pact on global emissions cuts is not required for the event to succeed. “What we expect to see from this march is a continued surge in strategic climate activism,” Brune said. “Our ability as a movement to be more aggressive, the ability to hold weak-kneed politicians accountable, has made us more effective.”

Hooray, more spreading awareness, but no actual action within their own lives.

Still, even if Sunday’s march draws the hoped-for crowd, activists face a steep challenge if they want to connect those supporters with the big political goal that several major green groups have set for November: keeping the Senate in Democratic hands. Climate activist billionaire Tom Steyer — who plans to attend the march — and the League of Conservation Voters are each putting tens of millions of dollars into the midterm elections. Should Republicans retake the chamber, pressure to slow down EPA regulations and approve Keystone would mount quickly in 2015.

So, not really anti-establishment, just another outpouring of support for Democrats and their far-left agenda. Surprise!

BTW, I can’t wait for the photos of all the trash they leave behind.

BTW BTW, the temperature is forecast to be 79, which falls easily in the typical range of 68-83 for NYC.

World Socialists: Do Away With Capitalism For Solving Climate Change

But don’t say the issue of climate change isn’t primarily a far left issue

(World Socialist Worker) Yet, there is a clear contrast between the urgency of the situation and the absence of any significant response from the political establishment. This contrast is the product of the basic fact that it is impossible to resolve climate change and other major environmental problems within the framework of the capitalist nation-state system.

For this reason, the perspective on which the People’s Climate March is organized offers no way forward. Appeals to the United Nations, to the governments of the major world powers, to President Obama, and to the billionaires who underwrite many of the environmental organizations—all such efforts will accomplish nothing.

From the standpoint of science and technology, the framework of a policy to address climate change is clear. The phasing out of fossil fuels, for example, and their replacement by renewable energy sources like wind, solar, thermal, hydroelectric and biomass, could be accomplished through a major, coordinated public works program on a world scale.

Any serious proposal to remedy the effects of climate change and halt and reverse global warming, however, runs up against two insuperable obstacles: private ownership of the means of production by a handful of capitalist billionaires, and the division of the world into rival capitalist nation-states. (snip)

The capitalist nation-state system likewise constitutes an impenetrable barrier to rational policy-making on climate change and other environmental issues, which must be, of necessity, carried out on a global basis. Each of the powers involved in global climate talks—the United States, the EU, China, Russia, the OPEC countries—looks at the issues from the standpoint of the interests of its own ruling class, not the survival of humanity.

Interestingly, they are saying all the Warmist leaders and groups haven’t gone far enough to socialism. What they’re missing is that Warmist are doing this for Progressivism (nice fascism), which give the government even more control. The WSW is just a tracking the issue from a slightly different leftist policy position.

Pastor: We Need Redemtion For “Climate Change”

More from the pseudo-religion of “climate change” invading the world of real religion, as Leftists infiltrate churches. Here’s Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori, Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church

A Pastoral Message on Climate Change

……

While an accounting of climate change that has credibility and integrity must include our own repentance, we find our hope in the promise of God’s own faithfulness to the creation and humankind and in the liberation that comes from God’s promise.

God, who made the creation and made it good, has not abandoned it. Daily the Spirit continues to renew the face of the earth. All who care for the earth and work for the restoration of its vitality can be confident that they are not pursuing a lost cause. We serve in concert with God’s own creative and renewing power.

She goes on to use Jesus to push the failed religion of “climate change”, which is based on far left progressive policies and politics, not science. Sadly, she, like so many others, ignores real environmental issues to focus on Hotcoldwetdry.

Meanwhile, a Massachusetts church is taking a fossil fueled trip to NYC to whine about “climate change” caused by fossil fuels

(The Sun Chronicle) Five families from Murray Unitarian Universalist Church will take to the streets of New York City Sunday, joining up with thousands of other marchers in a bid to persuade world leaders to get serious about climate change.

The People’s Climate March will bring together people of many faiths who share a conviction that climate change poses a dire threat to the web of life on Planet Earth, and that the most destructive consequences will be unjustly borne by those least equipped to deal with them.

“This march will bring together a lot of concerns on people’s minds, from oil and gas pipelines, to fracking, to extreme weather events,” he said. “We can lessen all of these concerns by moving quickly to clean energy, and bring jobs into our local economies at the same time.”

How are they getting there?

This is the Liberalization of religion, turning it from real issues as espoused by Christ to fake ones propped up by Leftists.

CNN: Obama’s Like Eye Of Sauron Or Something

Someone needs less caffeine

(Mediaite) During a serious discussion about intelligence on ISIS during CNN’s Erin Burnett Out Front Friday evening, host Erin Burnett decided to employ an unusual metaphor to make a point about U.S. “priorities.”

“I’m sort of thinking in The Lord of the Rings, you know, the Eye of Sauron is now on Syria and Iraq,” Burnett said, “but as a result it’s not looking anywhere else. It is not looking at Libya, it’s not looking at a lot of other places, it’s not looking there. How big of a risk is that?”

Her guest David Gergen didn’t miss a beat, saying, “That’s a really good question, Erin. It’s exactly what some of our friends in the Arab nations are asking: Are you guys only going after ISIS or are you going to look at the bigger threat?”

Now, Mediaite’s headline states that she was comparing the U.S. to the Eye Of Sauron, but, really, Sauron is one guy, so that has to be Obama, right? And Sauron was a Very Bad Person.

Guess Who’s Running The #ItsOnUs Anti-Sexual Assault Program For White House?

On Friday, Obama, the White House, and Democrats launched their #ItsOnUS anti-sexual assault program, calling on citizens to Do Something (and acting like there are no laws about this on the books)

(White House) Today at the White House, President Obama joined Vice President Biden and Americans across the country to launch the “It’s On Us” initiative — an awareness campaign to help put an end to sexual assault on college campuses.

It’s On Us asks everyone — men and women across America — to make a personal commitment to step off the sidelines and be part of the solution to campus sexual assault.

“An estimated one in five women has been sexually assaulted during her college years — one in five,” the President noted. “Of those assaults, only 12 percent are reported, and of those reported assaults, only a fraction of the offenders are punished.”

While it is a laudable goal, there are a few issues. First, I find it very interesting that there are so many sexual assaults on college campuses, which tend to be hotbeds of Leftism, run by Leftists, teachers are Leftists, kids, if not Leftists, are indoctrinated into Leftism. Second, this seems more about a “spreading awareness” and “hey, look at me, I can use a hashtag” campaign, rather than a “let’s actually fix this” program. Third

(Daily Caller) A website for the endeavor, promoted by President Obama in the video, asks visitors to take a pledge to intervene against possible assaults, to “not to be a bystander to the problem but to be a part of the solution.” Pledgetakers are asked to change their profile pictures on social media outlets to the campaign’s logo and to supply their emails and zip codes to the campaign.

Those who participate will have their information forwarded to the Center for American Progress, a left-wing think tank with significant ties to the Obama administration. This is because the “It’s On Us” campaign, despite its presidential endorsement, is actually being undertaken by Generation Progress, a student activism arm of CAP.

As a DC commenter notes

This is nothing but another data mining ruse to get names and email addresses. And they are using an anti-rape campaign to do it. The left has no shame.

Boom!

Is sexual assault a problem on campus? Good question. We’ve seen lots of allegories that many sexual assaults are really cases of drunk coeds regretting their hookups. Others, though, are real, and one thing I just do not get is why they are reported to the university, and some sort of university panel deals with them, rather than calling the actual police and working through the government established justice system.

We have an even better anti-rape campaign. It’s called a concealed hand gun. It also works great against muggers, car-jackers, knockout gamers, kidnappers, and anyone else who tries to harm you.

Here’s another: colleges should stop pushing the Leftist agenda of “if it feels good, do it”. Meanwhile, all the data of those who get involved will end up with a hyper-far left Progressive organization.

Salon Provides Ultimate Guide To Saving The World From Hotcoldwetdry

And when I say “ultimate” and “Hotcoldwetdry”, I mean it.

Ultimate guide to saving the world: What we need to do (and do right now)

Hot. Cold. Wet. Dry. ” Climate change causes everything!

Anyhow, here’s what Salon’s Lindsay Abrams suggests Warmists need to demand to stop heavy winter snow

Leave fossil fuels in the ground — all of them

Anyone think Lindsay has given up her use of fossil fuels? Make sure to ask her on Twitter.

  • Invest in a worldwide “energiewende” (pretty much forcing everyone to invest in “green” energy, and dumping lots of taxpayer money in same)
  • Get China on board (good luck with that)
  • Start right now (apparently, if we don’t we’re doom in…wait for it….15 years)

Still. Hotcoldwetdry. Only you can prevent snow from too much heat.

UK Guardian: Kids Should Be Brainwashed About Climate Change At School

The UK Guardian really, really, really wants “climate change” to be taught in schools, because no schools apparently do this at all now

It’s time to teach climate change in school. Here’s how
We need to give our kids the tools to observe and understand the effects of a changing climate – for their future and ours

Why is it so difficult to teach climate change in our classrooms?

My kids hear climate change discussed in the news as a very real threat, but it is largely absent from school science curricula. In fact, most children the world over don’t receive any formal academic reasoning to put the vast amount of information and opinions into context, and they have no credible outlet to ask their own questions.

To date, many attempts to educate the public – and our kids – about climate change have relied on scare tactics that focus on superstorms, massive floods and ominous weather patterns to generate fear. But fear actually can inhibit the desire to learn more and take action – particularly in young people.

Without fear, the “climate change” movement is lost. Hence the part about being “a very real threat”, which seems to be a “scare tactic”.

Teaching climate change shouldn’t be about preaching to our kids. A good science curriculum should empower students to ask their own questions and give them the tools to find and understand the answers themselves…

Climate change curricula should be based on real-time empirical data, encourage hands-on participation and problem-solving….

Well, hey, that sounds good. Kids should be given all the available information from all sides, right? Right??? Um, no, apparently

…and offer a pragmatic approach to what individuals can do and are doing to combat climate change.

In other words, teach one side only, do not allow divergent facts and thought into the curriculum, and brainwash kids.

The future of our communities, natural resources and ecosystems depends on how well we understand, value and protect the habitats and species that sustain our world. We need to be proactive and give young learners the tools to observe the effects of a changing climate for themselves. It’s one more way to invest in the future of our planet and let our kids shape the world that soon will be theirs. To quote Carl Sagan, “This is our world. It is our responsibility to cherish it.”

Isn’t that part of the “scare tactics” we were told shouldn’t be taught?
