Guess Who’s Running The #ItsOnUs Anti-Sexual Assault Program For White House?

On Friday, Obama, the White House, and Democrats launched their #ItsOnUS anti-sexual assault program, calling on citizens to Do Something (and acting like there are no laws about this on the books)

(White House) Today at the White House, President Obama joined Vice President Biden and Americans across the country to launch the “It’s On Us” initiative — an awareness campaign to help put an end to sexual assault on college campuses.

It’s On Us asks everyone — men and women across America — to make a personal commitment to step off the sidelines and be part of the solution to campus sexual assault.

“An estimated one in five women has been sexually assaulted during her college years — one in five,” the President noted. “Of those assaults, only 12 percent are reported, and of those reported assaults, only a fraction of the offenders are punished.”

While it is a laudable goal, there are a few issues. First, I find it very interesting that there are so many sexual assaults on college campuses, which tend to be hotbeds of Leftism, run by Leftists, teachers are Leftists, kids, if not Leftists, are indoctrinated into Leftism. Second, this seems more about a “spreading awareness” and “hey, look at me, I can use a hashtag” campaign, rather than a “let’s actually fix this” program. Third

(Daily Caller) A website for the endeavor, promoted by President Obama in the video, asks visitors to take a pledge to intervene against possible assaults, to “not to be a bystander to the problem but to be a part of the solution.” Pledgetakers are asked to change their profile pictures on social media outlets to the campaign’s logo and to supply their emails and zip codes to the campaign.

Those who participate will have their information forwarded to the Center for American Progress, a left-wing think tank with significant ties to the Obama administration. This is because the “It’s On Us” campaign, despite its presidential endorsement, is actually being undertaken by Generation Progress, a student activism arm of CAP.

As a DC commenter notes

This is nothing but another data mining ruse to get names and email addresses. And they are using an anti-rape campaign to do it. The left has no shame.

Boom!

Is sexual assault a problem on campus? Good question. We’ve seen lots of allegories that many sexual assaults are really cases of drunk coeds regretting their hookups. Others, though, are real, and one thing I just do not get is why they are reported to the university, and some sort of university panel deals with them, rather than calling the actual police and working through the government established justice system.

We have an even better anti-rape campaign. It’s called a concealed hand gun. It also works great against muggers, car-jackers, knockout gamers, kidnappers, and anyone else who tries to harm you.

Here’s another: colleges should stop pushing the Leftist agenda of “if it feels good, do it”. Meanwhile, all the data of those who get involved will end up with a hyper-far left Progressive organization.

It comes up often. Why are most educated and intelligent people liberal? Ironically, it’s almost always pointed out by conservatives, as if education is a bad thing.

“We’ve seen lots of allegories (sic?) that many sexual assaults are really cases of drunk coeds regretting their hookups.”

Since you suggest that many sexual assaults are the fault of drunk coeds, do you really endorse giving drunk coeds concealed handguns?

“We have an even better anti-rape campaign. It’s called a concealed hand gun. …”

    Jeff,
I know a large number of professors and once was one at a medical school. I can assure you that I would not list professors as being all that intelligent. In fact, the main reason that they are at colleges is that they can’t compete in the real world. I was there as I thought it was part of my giving back to the community after I retired. I was really amazed at how my peers could hardly function.

As to guns, everyone should be armed. I know that there is an element in our society that most people don’t know exist.

“One in five women have been sexually assaulted during their college years.” Translation: “One in five women have had a sexual encounter with someone that they wish never happened.” Saw that over at Powerline, I believe.

    j,

Makes you wonder why women reject the conservative message, doesn’t it?

Do you really think that a women who drinks too much deserves to be raped?
