Ted Cruz: Climate Change Is A Religion, Not Science

Ted Cruz sat down with Glenn Beck Thursday, and had this to say on the subject of ‘climate change’

“You know part of the reason he (the president of the Sierra Club) didn’t know the facts? Because climate change is not science, it’s religion.

Look at the language where they call you a “denier” Denier is not the language of science. Look, I’m the child of two scientists. My parents are both mathematicians, computer programmers. My dad was self-taught geophysicist. The essence of the scientific method is to start with a hypothesis, and then look to the evidence to disprove the hypothesis. You’re not trying to prove it, you’re trying to disprove it. Any good scientist is a skeptic, if he’s not, he or she should not be a scientist.

But yet the language of the global warming alarmists, “denier” is the language of religion, it’s heretic, you are a blasphemer.

The response from the Sierra Club, “We have decreed this is the answer, you must accept it.” And so he didn’t know his facts because he just knew his religion.

Of course, this has made Warmists very mad. EcoWatch calls it an “alarming video”. And, for Warmists, it is, because it exposes the fallacy and insanity of the ‘climate change’ movement. I’ve listened to Cruz speak on the subject before, and he sort-of steals my line in calling it a political movement and “It was massive government control of the economy, the energy sector, and every aspect of our lives.”

Roe Romm’s George Soros funded Climate Progress is also very upset, and writer Samantha Page spins madly, highlighting that this is not science

The data he is referring to is very specific. Cruz is looking only at satellite data — not ground-level data or oceanographic data — and he does not say “18 years” just as a random number.

Would this be the same data that the NOAA is refusing to comply with a Congressional subpoena over? The data that has received massive adjustments, all upwards? The same data that is biased towards warming due to UHI/land use? Yes.

Ninety- seven percent of published, peer-reviewed climate science papers concur that man-made climate change is occurring.

If you’re throwing out “consensus”, especially from an utterly debunked study, you’re talking politics, sociology, and even religion, not science.

He also seems to not have seen any of the data showing that the world is hot and getting hotter. 2015 is on trackto be the hottest year on record. 2016 will likely beat it.

Except, at most, it would only be hundreds of a degree, and this is prognostication before the facts. We already know how this worked out for the 2014 claim. They’re already telling us what the data will say, and they’ll make darned sure that the data says that.

My only disagreement with Cruz is that this is not really religion, it is a cult.

Tom Tancredo Explains Why He’s Quitting GOP

Tom Tancredo has long been a Conservative stalwart, with a lifetime rate of 99% per the American Conservative Union for his 10 years in office. He writes over at Breitbart that he is leaving the GOP

In a panel discussion at the University of Colorado after the recent Republican debate, I was asked by a student why she should be a Republican. The question forced me to ask myself the same thing.

I gave the young woman the standard talking points–that Republicans believe in smaller government, individual rights, fiscal responsibility, and free enterprise. But as I drove home, her question–and my inability to respond with any level of real conviction–got me thinking: Does the Republican Party leadership fight for these values and principles today?

After much thought, I reluctantly concluded that the answer is “no.” The proudly socialist Democrats are full of passionate intensity, while the Republican leadership is full of pathetic excuses. After this week’s House GOP “budget deal,” which betrays nearly every promise made to grassroots conservatives since 2010, I have decided it is time to end my affiliation with the Republican Party.

This decision has been incubating over the past 17 years, years of watching the downward spiral of the Party of Lincoln and Reagan into the Party of Democrat Lite.

He notes that the GOP establishment was very much for immigration non-enforcement, and he was repeatedly abused by Speaker Tom Delay and Karl Rove, the latter telling him “never to darken the White House door again” over his opposition to Bush 43’s immigration policies.

He goes on to discuss the GOP’s historic gains in the House and Senate

Yet, despite these historic gains, nothing changed. The GOP neither advanced a conservative agenda nor checked the radical “transformative” agenda of Barack Obama. We got condescending lip service, and nothing more.

  • Promises have been broken and principles abandoned, while millions of American families watched their dreams slip further and further out of reach.
  • Republican congressional leaders maneuvered to deliver votes to fund President Obama’s unconstitutional amnesty order, and more recently, his unprecedented job-killing EPA rules.
  • They have voted twice in four years to violate the very modest, bipartisan caps on spending put in place with the laughably-named “Budget Control Act” in 2011 — and now have abandoned the caps completely.
  • They have voted to continue funding what is essentially a $500 million macabre earmark for abortion provider Planned Parenthood.
  • They have voted to fund Obamacare, and despite promises, have never passed a complete repeal of the PPACA.
  • No one has been held accountable for the outrageous IRS and VA scandals.
  • And now, as icing on the poisoned cake, House Republicans have elected a Speaker who was not asked to renounce his commitment to open borders and amnesty, policies which will betray the values of 75% of the party and give Democrats a permanent electoral majority within a decade.

Even in foreign policy the Republican Party leadership has deceived those who elected them by engineering passage of the pathetic Corker/Cardin amendment – which greased the skids for President Obama’s flawed Iran deal to clear Congress without having to meet 67 vote threshold for ratification that the constitution requires for binding international treaties. No one will be surprised if they do the same thing with the controversial Trans-Pacific Partnership.

When we get to the latest GOP sellout, the latest “budget deal”, which Tancredo mentioned at the beginning, the GOP had nowhere else to go. They’ve been conceding the highground to Obama and the Democrats since the GOP regained the House in 2011, much less their squishiness since Obama took office in 2009. They’ve failed to hold the line since they took over the Senate this year. This set them up for a situation where they couldn’t fight Obama, and, really, according to Tancredo, and what Conservatives have witnessed for this century, they didn’t want to fight.

There’s lots more in the piece, which should be read by all Conservatives to understand exactly what the GOP Establishment is doing, but he ends noting that he will now be an Independent, and will fight hard to get the best Conservative, Ted Cruz, elected president. Sadly, if Cruz wins, he would still have to deal with the Democrat Lite GOP Establishment, which seems to want to fight Conservatives more than Democrats.

NC Sanctuary City Ban Seems To Have Made Illegals Upset

Every single one who was arrested should be immediately deported

(WRAL) More than 100 people rallied Thursday afternoon outside the Governor’s Mansion, including some who blocked the street in front of the building, in response to Gov. Pat McCrory’s decision to sign into law a proposal that prohibits any North Carolina county or municipality from restricting local law enforcement’s ability to cooperate with federal immigration officials.

House Bill 318, dubbed the Protect North Carolina Workers Act, also requires state and local government agencies to use the E-Verify system to check the legal status of job applicants and contractors, bars government agencies or law enforcement from using consular or embassy documents to verify someone’s identity or residence and limits food assistance for able-bodied, childless adults who are unemployed.

Six people were arrested after chaining themselves together and sitting in the middle of Blount Street, forcing Raleigh police to divert traffic for more than two hours. A band played music, and crowds on the sidewalk chanted, “Let’s stop the hate. We make America great,” and “We pay taxes too.”

Six were arrested, all with Latino names.

“The immigrant community is waking up,” said Maria Carmen Rodriguez, an undocumented mother of three who has lived and worked in Raleigh for over 10 years. “We are losing our fear to raise our voices and confront this racism, face to face.”

She should be deported immediately. If these illegals knew there would be consequences for their illegal actions, they might think twice.

Hotcoldwetdry Makes People Dumber Or Something

Is there nothing that CO2, natch carbon pollution, can’t do?

(Daily Caller) First, United Nations officials label bacon and deli meats as carcinogens, and now scientists are claiming that higher concentrations of carbon dioxide are not only heating the planet, they’re making people dumber.

A new study by the Harvard School of Public Health claims “carbon dioxide (CO2) has a direct and negative impact on human cognition and decision-making,” according to ThinkProgress, a left-wing advocacy website.

Before you totally poo-poo this, consider the things you’ve read from members of the Cult of Climastrology. It seems the notion of rising CO2 makes them dumber. But, that brings up a bigger question: “is it really stupidity, or just insanity?”

The Harvard study exposed 24 people to office environments with varying levels of volatile organic compounds as well as varying levels of carbon dioxide over six work days. The study found that for “seven of the nine cognitive function domains, average cognitive scores decreased at each higher level of CO2.”

Well, there you go, 24 people! That settles the issue!

Of course, other studies disagree, as noted in the Daily Caller article. But, does anyone think the ‘climate change’ media will highlight them? Not too mention that the world is nowhere near the levels of CO2 used in the study. This is about creating a scary narrative.

Good News: Climate Bigwigs Coming For Your Fridge And AC

Nothing says “climahypocrite” like taking fossil fueled flights to Dubai, then huddling in air conditioned hotel and meeting rooms while complaining about climate change caused by refrigerants

(Bloomberg) The biggest global warming battle you’ve never heard of kicks off in Dubai this weekend.

Climate negotiators from across the globe will gather in the Persian Gulf city to debate how to get rid of hydrofluorocarbons — a class of hundreds of artificial chemicals used in refrigerators, air-conditioners, fire suppressants and other widely used products. While less common than greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide or methane, HFCs can be thousands of times more potent, pound for pound, at heating up the planet.

HFCs were developed to replace ozone killing CFCs. Now we’re being told that they are bad for ‘climate change’. And, in all honesty, they tend to be more potent than CO2, the article isn’t wrong on that. But, the replacements are not ready for prime-time, and are considerably more expensive. Who does this hurt? The poor and middle class, of course, especially in “developing nations”

A global deal is proving elusive, however. Poorer countries and those in warmer climates have concerns about the reliability and expense of substitutes, which can cost ten times as much as the climate-threatening chemicals they replace. Advocates fear a new ban may boost the black market for HFCs. Chemical makers including Chemours Co. have found a significant amount of the refrigerants in use in some regions are labeled as the newer, safer products, but are actually older, cheaper products harmful to the environment.

HFCs are used in refrigerators, fire suppression systems, and air conditioners. But, hey, on the bright side, these Warmists are also looking to kill off the use of low cost old-school energy methods in the developing nations, so, there’s little to no energy for fridges and AC systems to start with.

But, don’t think that they are the only ones gunning for HFCs

Obama Is Coming For Your Air Conditioner

Air conditioners and refrigerators stay cool with the help of super-pollutant hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) — but not for long, if President Obama has anything to say about it. (snip)

That’s why on Thursday (Oct. 15), the Obama administration announced an aggressive new plan to phase them out. (snip)

Obama worked with the EPA to create the new rules, which include changing the way HFCs are sold, handled and recycled to reduce leaks; imposing new deadlines for replacing existing industrial HFCs with more climate-friendly alternatives wherever possible; and partnering with other countries including China, India and Brazil to reduce the use of HFCs worldwide. The White House announced phase one of this plan back in July, but the new rules allow the EPA to step up their game and make the phase-out process faster.

MTV and other Warmists are super excited about this plan. I wonder if they have given up the use of their own HFC air conditioning, refrigerators, and fire suppressent systems in favor of the new 10 times expensive ones? Has Obama in his own life?

Illegals Caught At Border Thought Their Families Could Stay In US

Whatever would give them that idea?

(AP) Hundreds of immigrant families caught illegally crossing the Mexican border told U.S. immigration agents they made the dangerous journey in part because they believed they would be permitted to stay in the United States and collect public benefits, according to internal intelligence files from the Homeland Security Department.

The interviews with immigrants by federal agents were intended to help the Obama administration understand what might be driving a puzzling surge in the numbers of border crossings that started over the summer. The explanations suggest the U.S. government’s efforts to discourage illegal crossings may have been unsuccessful. Its efforts have included public service campaigns in Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala to highlight the dangers and consequences of making the trek across Mexico to cross illegally into the United States.

The Associated Press obtained copies of the interview summaries, which were compiled in reports by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Office of Intelligence. They said hundreds of people traveling as part of families consistently cited opportunities to obtain permission to stay in the U.S., claim asylum and receive unspecified benefits. Immigrants spoke of “permisos,” or a pass to come into the United States.

It’s puzzling!

Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said the rising number of border crossings by families and children was due to “push factors” in Central America, such as crime and violence. He said the Obama administration wants to invest $1 billion in Central America to address the underlying problems that push families and children out of Central America.

Yet, these people do not head to any South American nations. They don’t attempt to move to stay in Mexico or other Central American nations. I mean, you can almost understand why they come here. It’s similar to why people are abandoned Detroit, why they’re streaming out of cities like Baltimore and St. Louis. But, perhaps Jeh Johnson forgot this

Newspapers in El Salvador and Honduras are promoting policies by the Obama administration that defer deportation to minors brought to the United States as children by their parents — known as “Dreamers” — and those that are housing illegal children at military bases in the South and West.

“Almost all agree that a child who crossed the border illegally with their parents, or in search of a father or a better life, was not making an adult choice to break our laws, and should be treated differently than adult violators of the law,” Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson is quoted in a story about a new two-year extension of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals policy published by Diario El Mundo in El Salvador.

It matters little that Obama’s DACA policy does not apply to these newer illegals, because Liberal supporters of illegal aliens will find ways to support these new illegals and call for them to be given legal standing. And all the government support that comes with it. The federal government even has a website that teaches illegals how to sign up for welfare.

“This internal Border Patrol document shows that the Obama administration’s lax immigration policies are the culprit for the ongoing surge at our borders,” said Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., chairman of the Judiciary Committee.

To be fair, it doesn’t help that many Establishment Republicans, ones like Marco Rubio, push for “comprehensive immigration reform”, which is really all about amnesty.

Although the administration opened two new detention centers in Texas to hold thousands of immigrants, a federal judge in California ruled in August that the facilities violated a long-standing legal agreement that stipulates that immigrant children cannot be held in unlicensed secured facilities. U.S. District Judge Dolly Gee ordered the department to release the children, with their mothers when possible, “without unnecessary delay” and gave the department until this month to comply.

The administration has appealed that ruling, though before Gee’s order was issued, Johnson had already announced plans to make it easier for families to be released on bond after being caught at the border.

The chances of any of these people appearing in court is minimal, and they disappear into America. Does anyone think that these lax policies aren’t known by those who are crossing into the country illegally?

Just In Time For Halloween, DOE Links Pumpkins To ‘Climate Change’

The DOE apparently has nothing better to do

(Washington Times) How scary are your jack-o’-lanterns? Scarier than you think, according to the Energy Department, which claims the holiday squash is responsible for unleashing greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.

Most of the 1.3 billion pounds of pumpkins produced in the U.S. end up in the trash, says the Energy Department’s website, becoming part of the “more than 254 million tons of municipal solid waste (MSW) produced in the United States every year.”

The DOE actually has a point

Municipal solid waste decomposes into methane, “a harmful greenhouse gas that plays a part in climate change, with more than 20 times the warming effect of carbon dioxide,” Energy says.

Regardless, this is just another case of members of the Cult of Climastrology feeling the need to ruin every holiday with their bat guano insane politics.
