While we are on pinups, since it is that time of year, have you gotten your “Pinups for Vets” calendar yet? And don’t forget to check out what I declare to be our War on Women Rule 5 and linky luv posts and things that interest me

Don’t forget to check out all the other great material all the linked blogs have!

Anyone else have a link or hotty-fest going on? Let me know so I can add you to the list. (BTW, since someone asked, the reason I leave links for the previous week up (or you might see a *) is because they are place holders for later in the day or for next weeks. Easier than rewriting all the time. Also, the listing order has to do with how they are added over time, not how good a post is. I just copy and paste from the previous week, then edit. If you see one of the *’s, go ahead and check out the blog anyhow, see if there is an update. I cannot update with my Android during the day.

After Women’s March, Cuomo Pushes Free Abortions And Contraception For These Super Empowered Women

As you surely know by now, dozens of hardcore leftist organizations participated in a march on Washington to push for all sorts of leftist ideas, like abortion, ‘climate change’, vaginas, pussy’s, flipping people off while grabbing their vaginas, wearing pussy hats telling us they’re empowered (hey, that’s what most of the photos I saw seemed to be pushing). The NY Times has a wonderful collage of photos which conveniently forget most of the the Crazy. Like

https://twitter.com/WilliamTeach/status/822801551416815616

They were showing up all over. Along with lots of Moonbattery. And astroturfed signs. But, one of the themes seemed to be how empowered and powerful women are. That they can do anything men can do (produce sperm? How about a proper “hey, y’all, watch this”?). Here’s one of my favorites

I did have a question for Bernie Sanders

https://twitter.com/WilliamTeach/status/822821690044481542

We should ask the same of Andrew Cuomo

(Fox News) New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said on Saturday that he was requiring health insurance companies to cover medically necessary abortions and most forms of contraception at no cost to women.

Cuomo’s announcement comes on the same day that over a million people around the world took to the streets to protest Donald Trump just hours into his presidency.

Cuomo took to Twitter to talk about his effort to “firmly secure access to reproductive health services in New York State.”

The state department of financial services is mandating that health insurers in New York provide for at least one form of FDA-approved contraception exceeding a month’s supply at a time. Women would also be provided medically necessary abortions without co-pays or deductibles.

How wonderful. If women are so strong and powerful and empowered and can do anything boys can do, why is it necessary to patronize them with free stuff? It’s almost like Cuomo thinks that women are not capable enough to be able to earn $9 a month for birth control.

That said, did you notice one interesting thing? “Medically necessary” abortions. In fact, only a tiny number, some say less than 1%, of abortions are medically necessary. Certainly, Cuomo knows this, and is simply patronizing abortion supporting women with this claptrap.

BTW, will the media give even a 10th of the coverage to next weeks March For Life as they did this march?

Good News: Sea Levels Could Rise Higher Than A Three Story Building

If you’re talking about a three story dollhouse, ….well, actually, no, not even that high. This one really highlights just how insane the so-called science of ‘climate change’ is

Sea levels ‘could rise higher than a three-storey building due to climate change’

The last time ocean temperatures were this warm, sea levels were up to nine metres higher than they are today, according to the findings of a new study, which were described as “extremely worrying” by one expert.

The researchers took samples of sediment from 83 different sites around the world, and these “natural thermometers” enabled them to work out what the sea surface temperature had been more than 125,000 years ago. This revealed that over the course of some 4,000 years the oceans had got about 0.5C warmer, reaching about the same temperatures as are found now – after a similar increase achieved largely as a result of human-induced climate change in little over a century.

Previous research has established that sea levels at the time were between six and nine metres higher. This gives an indication of what sea levels might be like once the vast oceans expand and ice sheets melt over the course of the next centuries and millennia.

So, it might possibly maybe we think might happen because of samples, even though the actual real world data of today shows no acceleration of sea rise. BTW, what caused that sea rise in the past, and why would today be different?

For the computer models used by scientists to predict what the climate will be like in the future had failed to pick up on the rise in temperatures 125,000 years ago. This suggests the models could be missing a key warming effect that might be about to kick in, sending temperatures higher than currently expected.

It’s Trump Vs The Planet On ‘Climate Change’ Or Something

Members of the Cult of Climastrology seem a bit upset that Trump is going to actually do what he said during the campaign season and since winning the election, namely, doing away with government sponsored climate change insanity

Trump vs. The Planet: Climate in Crosshairs of Executive Pen

Given what is known about his cabinet picks and plans for fossil fuel extraction and executive actions, the former reality TV star who became the 45th President of the United States on Friday appears poised to kick off a “deregulatory agenda” and take actions to fast-track climate catastrophe.

Michael Halpern, deputy director of the Center for Science and Democracy at the Union of Concerned Scientists, predicts the new administration to continue its shock therapy strategy:

A major strategy has been—and will likely continue to be—to institute radical proposals by overwhelming the public with an avalanche of activity and by attempting to distract us with the president’s cult of personality.

And given the corporate cabinet, a climate-denying transition team, and a dearth of debate on appointees, Halpern expects “significant industry influence over the role of science in government decisions.”

So, instead of the influence of shady interest groups, attempting to impose their views on all citizens by government regulation while fundraising and refusing to implement their beliefs in their own lives, you could get people who are not full of BS.

Trump himself laid out after Election Day what he’d do on his first day in office, including allowing the Keystone XL pipeline to move forward; lifting restrictions on fossil fuel production; and canceling “billions in payments to U.N. climate change programs.”

Excellent!

As Michael Slezak wrote Friday at the Guardian, “regardless of what climate deniers (yes, deniers) like Trump may say about the science, the stark reality is that it is happening now.”

“We are no longer fighting to stop climate change, but fighting to stop a runaway catastrophe,” he added.

And that’s exactly why belief in anthropogenic climate change has plummeted, and is generally a low ranked issue by most Americans: this apocalyptic viewpoint from people who seem less like scientists and more like the person standing on the corner with sign saying “The end is nigh!”

And, to reiterate, the debate from Skeptics is not on warming, but causation. It’s going to be a long, unhinged four years for Warmists. Here’s a clue for them: you lost.

Trump Signs Obamacare Order Potentially Gutting The Mandate

One of Mr. Trump’s first acts as President was to sign an order on Obamacare

(The Hill) President Trump on Friday signed an executive order directing federal agencies to “ease the burden of ObamaCare.”

The order did not direct any specific actions, instead giving broad authority to the Department of Health and Human Services and other agencies to take actions available to them under the law to ease regulatory requirements from ObamaCare.

It pushes agencies to target provisions that impose a “fiscal burden” on a state or a “cost” or “regulatory burden” on individuals or businesses.

It is not clear what practical effects will come from the order.

But, they can guess

But the move could eat away at the law’s individual mandate by granting more exemptions to people so they do not have to purchase insurance.

The Washington Post is a bit hysterical over this

Trump signs executive order that could effectively gut Affordable Care Act’s individual mandate

President Trump signed an executive order late Friday giving federal agencies broad powers to unwind regulations created under the Affordable Care Act, which might include enforcement of the penalty for people who fail to carry the health insurance that the law requires of most Americans.

The executive order, signed in the Oval Office as one of the new president’s first actions, directs agencies to grant relief to all constituencies affected by the sprawling 2010 health-care law: consumers, insurers, hospitals, doctors, pharmaceutical companies, states and others. It does not describe specific federal rules to be softened or lifted, but it appears to give room for agencies to eliminate an array of ACA taxes and requirements.

That sounds like a good thing, does it not? Not in Liberal World

“Potentially the biggest effect of this order could be widespread waivers from the individual mandate, which would likely create chaos in the individual insurance market,” said Larry Levitt, senior vice president at the Kaiser Family Foundation. In addition, he said, the order suggests that insurers may have new flexibility on the benefits they must provide. (snip)

But in giving agencies permission to “waive, defer, grant exemptions from or delay” ACA rules, the order appears to create room for the Department of Health and Human Services to narrow or gut a set of medical benefits that the ACA compels insurers to include in health plans that they sell to individuals and small businesses.

Mr. Trump, nor those in HHS, cannot do away with the mandate. That’s part of the actual law, unlike, say, the Contraception mandate, which was created out of thin air. But, they could change the hardship exemption, and provide other exemptions, just like Obama did. Because the Mandate portion is pretty specific about the timeframe which applies the penalty/tax/fee, and what that penalty would be. Perhaps the hysterical writer of the Washington Post article, and those who wrote others, should read the actual text of the bill. The hardship exemptions could be broadened to make everyone exempt. Team Trump could simply use the “you have another hardship” portion, and allow whatever people say is a hardship.

They could narrow or gut some medical benefits not included in the actual text of the bill. HHS was give broad latitude to create certain benefits, and others, like the aforementioned Contraception mandate, were simply invented.

The very fact is, Democrats said if Republicans want to do something about Ocare, we had to win elections. We did. As Obama stated, elections have consequences. Deal with it.

President Trump Takes Aim At ‘Climate Change’ Cult

Is this the end of Los Federales sponsored climate change religion?

(Fox News) While new President Donald Trump was laying out a short version of his agenda in an inaugural speech, his communications team was busy rewriting the White House website with a slew of new objectives including scrapping environmental regulations it claims kill jobs.

Among the commitments was immediate elimination of the Climate Action Plan and the Waters of the U.S. rule, two administrative regulations Trump’s predecessor, President Obama, considered environmental safeguards. Team Trump deemed them “harmful and unnecessary policies” that hurt the economy and said so on the official Whitehouse.gov website.

Obviously, this sent members of the Cult of Climastrology into level 10 apoplexy, with none of them pledging to give up their own use of fossil fuels.

It gets even more fun (hat tip drowingpuppies)

(Climate Depot)  A climate of change! Perhaps the most stark contrast between the Obama administration and the Trump administration is on “global warming”. The climate differences were visible today as the White House website was scrubbed of all references to “climate change” at exactly noon today just as President Donald Trump was sworn in.

Climate Depot statement: “Climate skeptics are thrilled that one of the very first visible changes of the transition of power between President Obama and President Trump is the booting of “climate change” from the White House website. Trump is truly going to make science great again and reject the notion that humans are the control knob of the climate and UN treaties and EPA regulations can somehow regulate temperature and storminess. Welcome to the era of sound science!”

Anthony Watts has a fun screenshot of what used to be at www.whitehouse.gov/energy/climate-change. Which is now essentially a “not found”. It’s not so much deleted as just moved to the Obama White House archives. Still, as Anthony writes, this is making heads explode.

This Message Of Doom Brought To You By Brenda The Civil Disobedience Penguin

Did you know that today is Penguin Awareness Day? Of course, this is all linked to ‘climate change.’

There’s lots more to that cartoon, good form and proper blogging etiquette keeps me from publishing it all. Hit the UK Guardian for the rest.

Of course, being the 20th of January, Gizmodo is horrified over what Trump has said about ‘climate change.’ A guy who made himself very rich by pushing anthopogenic climate change, Al Gore, has a message for Trump, namely that one person, meaning Trump, can’t stop the Cult Of Climastrology.

And, essentially being Day 1, what will we get?

Donald Trump’s presidency begins today, giving him the ability to act on numerous pledges he has made related to global warming. They include “canceling” American involvement in the Paris climate accord, reviving the coal industry and rolling back federal environmental regulations. If Trump follows through, scientists say it could have a profound long-term effect on the planet.

(LIberal) Scientific American is Very Concerned that the above might happen, because that would mean Doom. The question that begins today is “will Trump do the above?”
